Thinking two steps ahead - The future of mobility | Jeffrey Joh | TEDxTUBerlin

Jeffrey Joh studied molecular and cell biology at the UC Berkeley, lived in Denmark and Sweden, before playing an active role in the Berlin Start-Up World. Wanting a car for your 18th birthday was not an uncommon wish for a long time. Now, the new generation uses Uber instead of buying cars. When we think about mobility tech, most of us think about ridesharing, bikesharing and autonomous driving. However, how will mobility transformations affect our lives beyond that? Let Jeffrey Joh take you on a trip to the future and discuss his ideas at TEDxTUBerlin. Jeffrey Joh is a Bay Area transplant who has worked with the top investors and accelerators in Europe. What began as a short exchange semester in Copenhagen has turned into nearly five years in Europe. He spent his youth hiking the mountains in search of wildlife, growing bacteria in labs, and rubbing shoulders with congressional leaders on Capitol Hill. He now enjoys pondering the unknown unknowns, especially how tech can change our lives in unpredictable ways.Jeffrey obtained his degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from U.C. Berkeley. He now calls Berlin home. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I like the way this guy thinks. All good questions. My question is why are the foreigners so interested in America instead of they're own country?

I've eaten a burger (or two) while driving. Sloppy, yes. But I was hungry. I'd imagine making out in an autonomous vehicle would be even more fun. Here's the thing: making out in a regular car requires parking the car somewhere. Well, in most places, there isn't a single place where there aren't any streetlights or other intrusive lighting systems to cool the ardor. The only place to be able to make out would actually be in a moving car.

I understand the structure of the talk but - bad jokes - and I didn't learn anything after the future of mobility apart that change create and make some industries disappear.
