Well done Emma! Fun podcast!
Love Willie! He’s a giver for sure. Another great interview Emma. Thank you and take care❤
Was fun hearing him rave about the lanolin. I got into lanolized wool for cloth diapering my little ones. Wool covers are ah-may-zing.

Just did some research on this a few days ago. Want to try it with one of my swatches and see what happens!
That was just brilliant. Thank you.
Wow fireworks and stars!!! Absolutely great interview ❤❤ Thank you
Nice to hear Willie Smith. I haven’t heard him before. Enjoyed the interview.
What an inspiring episode, thanks so much to both of you ❤
A very interesting interview. I was also fascinated by the RTE broadcast programme on the link you provided. I am so pleased to see an increased interest in knitting, dyeing and spinning. When I was a younger woman, these looked like disappearing skills so their resurgence pleases me. Creative crafts are so underrated and undervalued. I firmly believe that we humans need to create - we need to be able see things we have made and feel a sense of satisfaction and achievement in doing so. It's no surprise that knitting, crochet, sewing etc. have been shown as beneficial to mental health. Thank you for sharing your creativity. ❤
Ohhhhh how great to have a class like that!!!! Especially when you don’t have a Local Yarn store to get help
What fun! Can't wait to see what this collab brings about. I also can't wait to see the yarn. So many good things happening!
Spinning sheep’s fleece in the grease keeps the lanolin in the yarn. Really enjoyed this podcast. Will have to follow Willie now.
A very positive, fun and inspiring interview. I really enjoy these series of interviewing fiber artists and other creators, it is really inspiring to hear about their journeys and ways of creating. I am looking to the next interview!
Fascinating interview! Thank you, Emma!
Great podcast❤
So cool you choose to interview Willie, he's a great guy and very funny 🤩 i always see knitting as a mathematical activity. It is very logical. Also the difference in both your accents is really funny to listen to. And the difference in culture and the way we here in Europe go about things versus the States ? i know i'm generalising ,but it is what it feels like to me The dutch also have a long history of fishermen's sweaters with each village their own pattern. Very tight knit thin yarn. Works of art. I also love to knit with people ,via zoom often, who want to learn how to make certain things. I will work ahead a little bit so i know what is coming up. I just don't have to overhead camera, so i share short YT vids that explain the various stitches i thoroughly enjoyed this episode. So many things i could connect to. My family used to go on holidays to Ireland many years in a row. Cycling around (we're dutch lol ) I am a third generation knitter , maybe more, and my mom used to spin, dye and knit her own wool. She used to have a woolshop here in the town where i live. So many woolly connections. Thank you so much
Great podcast! I am a little older than prob most of your demographic but back in the 1980s there was a NYC fashion designer named Willie Smith and I was like, no way could be the same guy haha he was in college in the early 2000s!
Love what you do here and I really appreciate this interview. I do think we should be a bit careful how much grind culture we support though. I don't want to be too critical of other people's life choices but I don't think it's amazing to hear about that kind of grind lifestyle, especially in this slow fashion context. I know time is a privilege but I just had to give my two cents here.

Absolutely. Everything you do is at the expense of something else. Willie goes to bed really early so he can do what he loves and therefore doesn't have an evening. But I really respect his choice to do that.
Willie needs to learn to spin in the grease. Great job Ema! Where did you find Willie? And how have I missed him. Oh yes, I’m not on instagram. Too old me. Thank you .

Blatnaid from the Galway Wool Co-op said I should get in touch with him! :)
Thanks for the amazing interview! Willie knits is a great part of the knitting community. One question - could someone please explain to me how cultivating wool is carbon negative? I don't understand this. In order to have wool we need to deforest, sheep usually graze land in a way that degrades it. Can someone leave a link to a trusted source that might convince me otherwise?
Some companies sell yarn with spinning oil still in. You have to wash it out. So does the lanolin get washed out too?
I found Willie from Zelda from zeldanrj3
