THINGS TO TO DO IN MERIDA [Visit the Mayan Museum!]

Visit the Mayan Museum in Merida with Us!
This week we're taking you along with us as we visit the Mayan History Museum (Gran Museo del Mundo Maya de Mérida). We've wanted to visit this wonderful museum for months, but it was closed when we first got to Merida and recently reopened while we've been busy traveling everyone. Thankfully, we were back in Merida for a couple of days to go check it out and had a blast learning about the rich culture and history of the Mayan people, who are still very much a part of the Yucatan today.

It is so important to understand the indigenous people of all countries we travel to, learn their contributions, support their businesses and learn how they survived so many invasions.

That's a good sign for travelers that museums and such are beginning to reopen. The Maya museum looks magnificent thanks for the quick tour. Also wanna say the drone is really adding to your presentations it's another viewpoint and you don't overdo it. Nice job!

Glad you saw the museum. When I went there it was full of kids on their class trips! I don’t know if I mentioned this before or if you know about it but every Tuesday night (I think for decades) a Big Band plays starting at 7:30 in Parque de Santiago while older Mexican couples dance, many apparently having been going for years. Maybe with COVID restrictions lifting, it has started again, I don’t know. I think you guys would enjoy it.

I am so glad you did a vlog on the Mayan Museum! I didn't get a chance to visit it when I was in Mérida last September as it was closed. Not sure if you've been to Puebla yet (I may have missed the video) but since you like museums, I would recommend a visit to the International Museum of the Baroque, which is pretty close to Cholula and its pyramid, the largest on the planet.

@@BOULDERGEEK As Native I would say May is really bad even for us born in Yucatan and July/August is bad because it's not only heat but Humidity and a lot of Rain. Walk 2 blocks and lost weight just by sweating lol. Recommendations: Walk in the shade to avoid the sun, and always have a bottle of water with you. Hope you enjoy Yucatán :)
