My Dad fought in the Pacific WWII. Sadly he passed 12/21/19 at the age of 97. He service was classified. He had 2 Purple Hearts. I wish I knew his stories. He had a lifetime gag order. Seeing that gentleman at 97 talking about his service made me think of my dad and many of his friends some were POWs.

Hand Salute to your Dad! He paved the way for us to continue our service!
My dad was a Korean War vet and active with the KWVA (and a Distinguished Service Cross recipient) . I frequently hung out with him and his buddies. Old retired vets are the BEST! I miss those old guys!
Jerry Jeff Walker recorded Viva Terlingua at Luckenbach.
I am a Texan and I am in the Hill Country now. I went into Fredericksburg yesterday; they had a nice farmer’s market. It is such a nice town. On my way here I stopped at the best city park in Kerrville that has RV sites. It’s the Kerrville-Schreiner park. Safe travels!

That is true! Kerrilles park is really nice,
We love e TX bills country. Beautiful!
The Hill Country is full of surprises. (3) is a really small number. But, it is a nice song. Thanks for the visit.
Alamo springs cafe. My favorite out of the way hamburger place. And then off to Luckenbach for a cold beer and a bit of live music.
I love all of the history we have in Texas! Our state is so diverse with culture as well.
Y'all enjoy our great state of Texas!! There are so many things to see and do here. Y'all have done some of the greats.
We were in Fredericksburg and Luckenbach in May. Got to see blue bonnets and lots of wineries. Great to see people on the move.
They're back folks. Our favorite rv couple. Thanks for the tour.
About an hr and 30mins from Fredericksburg there is a famous drive route called Twisted Sisters in Leaky Texas. This route is a lovely hidden gem and makes a lovely 'sunday' drive. =) You'll go through twisted mountain roads and also follow a river stream on the west side by barksdale.

I love that drive between Bandera and Leakey! I'm not sure I want to do it while pulling my camper though. It's awesome in a convertible though!
Very happy to see the RV crowd out and exploring again
Thank You Both for Serving....Watched you Guys with Chad & Tara Tonight, I'm excited about the New RV show and Congratulations.....

Awesome! Thank you!
Catching up on some of your videos. First … thank you for your service! Second … we are “fifth-wheelers” but are considering going to a motorhome, and started following y’all. So thank you for your insights. Third … we don’t live far from you, and have been to the Hill Country area (and stayed in Fredericksburg) more times than we can count. Have not taken the time to tour the National Museum of the Pacific War, but will do so now! Thank you!
Funny that Phil “hates” history...his (and Stacy’s) service is a part of our history. Thank you!

Where is the love? Texas!
We've been to the Hill Country more times than I can recall. We used to ride a motorcycle a few times every year all over it. I had grandparents that lived in the area and had the blessed opportunity to be able to grow up with it (starting in the 1970's). Fantastic and beautiful place to go. Unfortunately, it's becoming too popular and more 'touristy' as time goes on. We still love it and enjoy Fredericksburg but preferred it before it became 'discovered'. The museums in Fredericksburg are really good. Worth the time to get there. When we go now, we try to avoid any of the popular travel times and weekdays are the best. If you have two wheels, the twisted sisters (335, 336, & 337) are a blast to ride. If you're in your RV, please don't. Just don't even try. In the HC, it's best to schedule a lot of time in the area, pick a 'home base', and explore from there. You'll drive a lot; however, in the HC, between point A and point B is the journey. The journey is the destination. If it's been raining a lot and flash flooding has become a issue, it would be advised to avoid the HC if possible. If not, understand that there are a LOT of low water crossings and getting from one small town to the next might require rerouting and additional time to navigate the area. Sister Creek vineyards and Chisholm Trail vineyards are our favorites.
I LOVE Luckenbach. Did you guys gets to meet the DRUNK ROOSTER? Apparently there is a rooster there that loves beer. The last time we were there, he came and stood right beside us, laid his head on the ground and fell asleep standing up. DRUNK. I hope you bought the book. It is a VERY INTERESTING place. You can just sit under those huge trees and listen to country music while you have a beer. Loved this week's video!!
Thank you for the new destination, and Congratulations on your newest adventure w/ Changing Lanes My choice as the best channels on KZread. Above all Thank You again for your selfless service to our country we are safer because of your service 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Phil talking history, now that's funny.
Congratulations on the new gig! You folks have worked hard and deserve the opportunity!
OMG, I live here in Texas, and admit...I've only seen so very little of it!
Thanks for this review! I'm adding some of these places to the Pinterest board for when we are in the area.
We just bought peaches in Frederickburg after we visited the Pacific War Museum 💗💗💗 We dined at Auslanders restaurant. American/German food. We are going back since we are somewhat parked in one place right now.
Luckenbach is a must see. Been there, done that. Great to see it again. Thanks 👍.

looks like a great find for texas rv travels.
I love small town Texas history 😍
We are actually doing our first RV trip July 4 weekend in Fredericksburg. Can’t wait to get away. Great video, y’all be safe.
That town is so cool. If your looking for a historic place while in Massachusetts Sturbridge Village is the place to go. It’s a working 1820s township. They do it like it was done in that era. It has farms and stores. You can buy stuff made in their shops by hand.
Thanks for sharing you-all did good.

Thanks for watching!
Outstanding episode! Thanks, G
Phil & Stacy, last week we spent eight (sweltering) days moochdocking at our friends' home outside Bandera, taking most of our day trips close to that town. We did venture up to Kerrville and then Fredericksburg, which was amazing. We think Bandera -- the self-proclaimed "Cowboy Capital of the World" -- is a must-stop on a trip to Texas Hill Country. See you on the road!

I drove from San Antonio just to pick up native wood from a wood shop in Bandara & stayed for a walk through the antiques mall! I’d go back in a heartbeat. If we weren’t using carry-on with only 1 checked suitcase, I would’ve left more of my Canadian bucks there!. (I was visiting while Hubs was working-we’re Canadian so going back will be intentional)
Nice stop along the way.
Love the Wise ... T-shirt.
Nimitz museum made me realize how little I knew about the War in the Pacific. I need to go back after I study up on that.
If you see Waylon I want to see the picture. He passed in 2002. As for Willie, he's 88, don't think he does much traveling these days. But maybe you'll see the boys. LOL great video!
If you saw Waylon you would be seeing ghosts, he left this world several years ago. Fortunately I got to see him at the Michigan State Fair a few decades ago. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

I was there in April. Very cool place. Good food good music.
I got stuck in Kerrville for five days for an RV repair earlier this year. Such a great area. Fredericksburg, LBJ Ranch, etc. And there’s a beautiful city park we stayed at with lots of trails and wildlife. Fond memories.
Great stuff!
Thank you. Awesome

Lived and worked in Odessa for awhile (then Midland) back...ehem...too many years ago. Love the artwork at the cartoon saloon!!
Staying near Fredericksburg next March. We will for sure check this little gem out :) Thanks for the all the fun facts!!
Great video. Thanks for pointing out the National Museum of the Pacific War. That is on our must-do list now. My uncle was a MOMM on a PT, and didn't make it home. Thanks to all who serve, past and present!
My good friend was a bosuns mate on the U.S.S Nimitz (a.k.a. "the Numbnutz").
We searched out Luckenback, Tx It was very cool place.
We search out places like Luckenbach we went there in 2017 and yes we missed the boys dang it. We stayed at a campground in Boerne, TX from there we did a lot of riding in the Hill Country and went to San Antonio. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels.
We made a number of trips to the Texas hill country during our Air Force career and LOVED everything about it! The German influence in the local customs and cuisine is amazing. We've lived in northern Alabama since our retirement from the Air Force in the early 1990's but look forward to making another trip to the hill country at some point.
This is on my destination list. Thanks for sharing.

If you don't want to miss the best BBQ in the entire country, you need to visit Coopers BBQ in Llano Texas. All is great but their brisket is to die for and they are actually rated #1! They also have a great little pizza place across from the courthouse.
Loved Texas Hill Country. My husband spent two days at the Museum of the Pacific. Great bakery in Fredericksburg. Stayed in 3 Harvest hosts while there. Would go back.
Hey you visited my home town. Hope y'all had fun. I live 15 minutes from Luckenbach.

I so want to go to Lukenbach! I wanted to go for the music but we weren’t going to be in Texas on the weekend. We however, did go to China Grove-The Doobie Bros. weren’t there though.
I will pass the Willie portion. but will visit when he is not around; looks like a place I want to visit TY for sharing!
We were there exactly one year ago Today!
Beautiful music
Went to an Asleep At the Wheel concert on January 30, 2021 in Luckenbach. A little cold at 50 degrees for an outdoor concert. Stayed at a Harvest Host site at Bankersmith, TX (a smaller dot on the map) 3 miles from Alamo Springs Cafe.
I’m from the Burg ( as the locals refer to it, Fredericksburg) and was so thrilled to see you all came through the hill country! It’s so beautiful and expanding .. maybe a revisit soon 😊👍

fun places ... we just got in from Llano
Love the area and all the music at Luckenbach. Next time you are in the area, go to LBJ Ranch and Library. Also, the old German farm next to it.
Luckenbach isoniazid my bucket list. I’ll be able to get there one day because my wife and I are about 2 to 3 months from going full time. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now to get prepared.
Lake Travis Texas in the hill country is well worth it
