Taipei is a great city. Been there several times. Digital Plaza is great if you like tech deals, night markets are phenomenal for good comfort food. Barcode is a nice bar. Brown Sugar closed but was a great bar as well. MRT has underground shopping and you can find some good deals. My in laws live there. I try and stay for at least 3 weeks to a month when I go there.

Hi Ron and everyone, just wondering if anyone knows the latest details on this? Me and my wife are wanting to visit Taipei at the end of June and will arrive and leave together. Is it confirmed that we can stay in the same hotel room? We are looking to visit for 3 days before moving to Hong Kong... is it possible to go and eat and enjoy everything as normal even though we need to stay in a particular hotel for up to 7 days?

they never will. their military is quite literally incapable, not mention the backing of the United States, 中國台灣 (Taiwan, "China") has. A lot of what people think about China in the sense of their power and technological advances are incredibly untrue. The CCP just wants to look big and bad. China is a developing country outside of Tier 1 cities and has never invented ANYTHING. just stolen and reversed engineered. Considering they only have about 500 nukes, of which were given to them by SOVIET russia decades ago, and it took them 5 years to be able to make the ballpoint of a pen, it will only be an embarrassment so long as the US is supplying Taiwan with weapons. That does not mean China isn't a beautiful country with beautiful people however. Its just a shame the CCP claims land that isn't theirs, promoting some "long term invasion" and has no idea how to solve issues without just throwing money at the problem, hoping it works or by simply murdering people. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
