Things To Do In Wisconsin Dells WITHOUT Waterparks | My first time in Wisconsin!

In this video we explore Wisconsin Dells, AKA “The Waterpark Capital Of The World” WITHOUT going to any waterparks! If you’ve ever wondered what to do in Wisconsin Dells or looking for Wisconsin photography & hiking locations we go over all the places we visited in this video in the blog post linked below!
We visit a bunch of places in this video but some highlights were our cottage at Oak Hill Bed and Breakfast, Devil’s Lake State Park, The Upper Dells Boat Tour along the Wisconsin River, The Witches Gultch, Mirror Lake State Park, and the Wisconsin Deer Park. Make sure you check out the full blog post below for all the locations and more photos from the trip! Thank you to Wisconsin Dells & Travel Wisconsin for sponsoring this trip.

Yes, those scenic upper parts are the reason for the other attractions.. So many hidden gorgeous little fairytale oases between all of Wisconsin, Upper Michigan, and Northern Minnesota.. Don’t get me started.. (Pictured Rocks, Boundary Waters, Lake of the Clouds, Copper Falls) Amazing..

Ok, also sticking to the Dells/ Lacrosse area..Cave of the Mounds is so interesting. Completely encapsulated cave system, discovered from digging.. Also the Pennsylvania Dutch people surrounding Wildcat Mountain and the Kickapoo (world’s most winding river) is countryside like you’ve never seen in the US.. It is like driving through the Shire of Midgard..

Devil's Lake is amazing. My aunt and uncle live in many years on a farm outside of Portage. I have been to the Dells many times and my favorite is the upper Dells boat trip. I went to college in Wisconsin. Southern Wisconsin is absolutely amazing.

If you get a chance, I highly suggest to visit LaCrosse and the surrounding areas. Last week I stayed a night in Prairie du Chien and drove up to LaCrosse following the Mississippi River the entire way, and it was one of the most beautiful drives I have ever done.

One of the things I miss seeing in the Dells is the helicopter tour outfit that flew a Hughes 500 in the orange, yellow and brown paint scheme made famous in Magnum P.I. It was always fun to be on a boat tour or walking down town and seeing it flying around!

I was worried about this too! But we did go during off time when water parks weren’t open yet so the boat was not even 50% full. So mid summer deff might be a little busier but I still definitely think it would be worth it vs going there and NOT seeing it! And go for the morning tour for the least chance of crowds! :)

There used to be so much to do in Wisconsin dells other than the stupid water parks. Unfortunately a lot of the attractions closed down like Wonder spot and that kind of thing. But you have to see the nature when you go to Wisconsin dells do not waste your time in a water park. If you want get out of day pass and go to Noah's ark or something. But it's been the rest of the time exploring the town

Wisconsin Dells is an amazing and beautiful place to visit- but if you don't drive or have access to a car, it SUCKS! No transit at all, and good luck trying to call a taxi when you need one! None of the taxi companies answer their phones most of the time! I went on a once-in-a-lifetime trip there recently and was very, very limited in what I was able to do, because of the lack of transportation. I ended up doing LOTS of walking, which ate up my time to actually visit places. And had to walk about three miles from my hotel back into town, dragging all my luggage, on the day I left because I couldn't get a ride! Loved the area, the taxi companies, not so much. What a joke!
