Things to do in TULUM Mexico (BUDGET TRAVEL)
If you’re looking for things to do in Tulum Mexico you’ve come to the right place! In this Tulum travel guide we show you what to do in Tulum, what to eat in Tulum, where to stay in Tulum, how to get around and so much more!
Located 3 hours south of Cancun, Tulum Mexico used to be a quiet, jungle oasis - but with the rise of social media it quickly became a Mecca for Instagram Influencers which in turn has increased tourism tenfold. Everyone we talk to has different opinions, some love it some hate it - and for us we fall in between. But like any place, we recommend you check it out yourself! We think Tulum deserves at least a couple days!
To get you situated - Tulum has two distinct areas, the pueblo or town that is off the main highway and the hotel zone down by the beach. The town is where the locals live, and where you will find more affordable accommodations and food options. The hotel zone is about 4 km from the town and runs 10km down the beach, Playa Paraiso, and is where you will find all the luxurious hotels and more expensive high end restaurants.
We had heard that Tulum was one of the most expensive vacation destinations in Mexico, but it is possible to do Tulum on a budget! We stayed in an Airbnb in town for $30 a night, which we give you a tour of in the video. When I checked online the cheapest hotel in the hotel zone was around $100, and for us that is way out of our budget. If it is for you too, you can stay in the town and rent a bike for $10 a day or a moped for $35 and cruise to all sorts of Tulum attractions.
In this Tulum vlog we start out EATING - (surprise, surprise) some delicious breakfast burritos at the famous Burrito Amor. After we fill up we then show you where/how to rent a moped. From there we hop on and head down towards the beach where we park and walk to the Tulum Ruins. After the ruins we go to Playa Paraiso for a hot second, and then take you down to Tulum’s hotel zone to give you a little taste of what that’s like. From there we head back out away from town and take you to what is possibly the coolest things I’ve ever been in - a Cenote! You can’t come to The Yucatan without going in at least one Cenote - and with TULUM being surrounded by them it is the perfect spot to base yourself to visit a few! We eat tacos pastor and show you where we stayed in Tulum before heading out to the local park and ending the night with a feast and some drinks at a Gastropark!

A fun and fantastic video .I 'm glad you stayed in the less touristy section and saved a lot of money. I heard Tulum can be expensive yet you know where to go to spend less .The Cenote looked refreshing !You two look to have a loving and fun relationship, which makes these videos nice.

Great scenery! You’ll need to try cenote diving while you are there. El pit is my favorite. Wow! I didn’t know you could actually ride a scooter on the 307.

We actually did El pit and Dos Ojos last year! The Pit was eerily beautiful! Loved it. We saw a bunch of people on scooters - actually didn’t even think about that, but the rental place didn’t say anything about it. Good point tho, something that should have been double checked!

We went to the ruins in Tulum March 21, The beach and the water were absolutely breathtaking. It rained a bit but we didn't mind I'm not used to the heat. We came in through an excursion package from our resort. Our tour guide was Alex. He was very nice. Remember you can't smoke in the ruins site. My husband wanted to rush because of that! I'm glad he quit.

We wish we could do 2 but they take a long time to create! Hoping we will get better at filming and the editing process so we can put 2 out a week! It takes 3-4 days to edit and 1-2 to film right now. 😃 It's a lot more work than we ever anticipated! But so worth it! SO HAPPY to hear from you!

Hey Melissa! Yes we have! Adam has family there, in Kenya - his goddaughter so we've been a few times he used to teach scuba diving there. We have also been to South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland together and Adam has been to many more countries such as Ethiopia and Zimbabwe! Great video. Before we went to Tulum I watched several videos learning about the area. BUT your video is by far the best guide I’ve watched! We went to Cenote Crystal, but Escondido looks very similar! Great jobs, guys!

Thanks so much! I know - it even said they charged 50 pesos for phone cameras too but they weren’t charging for that lol I’m sure people got in a huff about that so they stopped. That is crazy but $2.50 was fine for the go pro. Thanks for watching we appreciate you!

We’ve seen some rooms here where all they have is a hammock! You sleep and chill in it! Quite an affordable option! I’ve never slept a full night in one but I’d give it a try. Adam slept in a hammock for a months on his first trip to Costa Rica, I think that’s why he loves them so much!

Every where in tulip is like back to my home town in Asian , I just fall in love the nurture pool and the food areas was stay under the trees so nices when you order food can can sit under the trees I like that your channels was having everything I likes thank you.

Sorry this is kinda random as not related to this video, but I am traveling to riviera maya in November. Can yall tell me if you had to choose one, should we go to cozumel or isla mujeres. We are a young couple traveling just the 2 of us and would be first timers. Possibly want to try diving but not too deep, I'm still nervous and trying to brave the ocean lol. Want an authentic local and beginner friendly experience with good drinks and nice beach. BTW been religiously watching your content and my husband and i LOVE IT, keep it up love the good vibes and great information 💖

Oooo that’s a hard one, they are both fantastic but I would maybe choose Isla Mujeres for your first time! It’s smaller, you can do discover scuba diving and the north beach is really nice. You can rent a golf cart or a scooter and cruise around - great restaurants and loads of activities. It’s close to Cancun so it’s really easy to get to from the airport. Tulum has very rapidly gone from a sleepy fishing town to a popular vacation destination. A big part of that popularity comes from the stunning natural beauty found all along the coastline, where azure blue Caribbean seas gently lap up amazing white sand beaches.

With all that tourists and lack of infrastructure comes lot of trash and waste which is not collected and treated properly. 80% of your shit ends up in ground and dripping into cenotes👌 Big dump site few km away from town. So many empty head tourists without basic informations and careless about enviroment. Instagram photos are only what matters ,right

I love these videos because it always about spending time with locals and the culture of the countries. Tulum for me was so disappointing, currently here and the hotels made huge walls across the beach so you cannot access without pay like 40 bucks to sit and eat. Your tips always take us away from the tourists traps and show us the real beauty!
