Morning, Richy! Good to see you back, mate. Ooh, I love that suspension bridge on the river with all the cables. Impressive engineering. Do you reckon you will go through a flooded area at some time this rainy season like in Phuket last year? Great effort trying to pronounce that temple names. Alphabet soup! Surely the locals have a hard time with that too? That warthog on the rock was very weird. I don't know what that would signify? It is all so different with the cloudy and rainy skies. Great accommodation as always. Enjoy your trip back to Kanchanaburi!

Hi Greg, thanks mate. There is so much to do in Bangkok. I’m sure there will be flooded areas at some point the rain doesn’t half come down here.

good Video Mate, well done for trying those Thai pronunciations, Even the Thais don't bother with the full name of most of these places They just call it 'Wat Suthat''. The Giant Swing was discontinued a while back but there are photos, even some grainy old film, of it in action, rather them than me. You covered some ground in this one!!

Love your videos Ricky…keep up the good work mate. One little tip for you. If you can separate the key from the key fob,then you can just take the key with you when you go out,and leave the fob running the electric,so you get back to a nice cool room on your return😎

Thanks mate, I usually do that but the vast majority of places now have welded rings around the keys or plastic tie wraps that are impossible to remove. Also they have reading cards now so a bank card won’t work either unfortunately😎👍🏻

Hi Richie. Another quality video. I recommend a visit to Jim Thompson's House in Bangkok. Beautiful place and so quiet for being in the centre of Bangkok. It also has old traditional Thai houses. Jim Thompson had such an interesting life. PS: I did put the link to the website but it disappeared along with my original comment.

I was staying at I think the viengthai hotel for two days thinking what was all the fuss about Kanchan? I saw light and life through that same tunnel or walkway(no not the angel Gabriel) but Khao San proper. Felt like a right knob😮

Great videos, just out of curiosity what type of visa do you have for your travels, I’m in Thailand in October, thanks
@ParkinsonRaw
Ай бұрын
Thanks Mark, you’ll love it here. I always come on a 30 day free UK visa exemption, when that near’s the end I go to the local immigration office and extend it for another 30 days for 1900 baht which is just over £40. When that ran out I went and toured other neighbouring countries such as Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Malaysia. There are 2 and 6 month tourist visa you can apply for from the UK in advance which would be less hassle but I always wanted to travel. I’m not sure how they work but the Thai visa website is very self explanatory.

Haha, I think I’ve replied to that Ian. I wish at 49 years old.
The locals might be offended if you suggest to them that the buildings are "colonial." They are rather proud of the fact they were never colonised by the usual suspects. They seem to have forgotten the Burmese😊 the fruit was ripe Papaya.
@ParkinsonRaw
Ай бұрын
Thanks mate, I didn’t think they’d being colonised before. Them buildings just reminded me of the ones in Vietnam.
did you go back to blighty ? why so quickly back to LOS ? the "lottelly" dosh goes to the government ,so that's ok . Other gambling doesn't ,so "mai dee,mai die" there is no way you would have got through without paying ,it's Thailand FGS Thai never been colonized ,well not by farrang anyway ,think neighbours may have had a say though at some time
