I cant imagine what it feels like to be an artist and perform in front of a crowd and not even have to sing your own song. it has to be one of the best feelings in the world

Arturo Carrillo Macías this is just brilliant..
For a band the biggest reward is when the audience take over and sing the whole song, Amazing and beautiful. Goosebumps !

When I came across the title of the song. I asked you had a listen this song is the first time for now and I’ll listen to it more often after this time. I lost my dad In November 2, 1995 and it still sucks. It’s interesting how when we’re younger especially us boys it seems it’s the mindset of The younger we are the lesser dad knew the older we got the wiser he was. Condolences for your loss.
my dad died last month, I shared this song with him last year and now i can't listen to it, I sing every word out loud, makes me ball my eyes out every time. I was to poor to afford a funeral so I made him a facebook page so people he knew could find him but I'm ashamed in my heart I wasn't able to do more. Now inside i hurt in silence wishing I could go to Ukraine and help those people and die with pride and dignity. If you ever wondered what it's like to be alone in the world, don't, it's a prison of torture that never ends, in my own mind. Things my father said, I'm heart broken for the rest of my life.
The three times I've been at a Black Stone Cherry gig in Birmingham, Chris hasn't had to sing a word. The first time he was in tears on stage because he was so taken aback.

I'm bawling my eyes out as I type this, I have had this song on my rotation for years and just really heard it for the first time tonight and I am literally sobbing. Nerves are being touched apparently.
Fathers: Love'em or hate'em ..... you wouldn't be here without him.
lost my dad jan 2021 dedicated to him R.I.P
These guys must be the hardest working band out there, they put so much effort into their live shows and really work through recordings with such passion. If my band ever takes off, it'll be because bands like Black Stone Cherry inspire me to work harder and be passionate about what I do.
loved this and Always cried at this I remember when I saw this and still it makes me feel weak, family is forever No matter how low the valley Or how high the mountain may appear Family is forever, Death is as inevitable as birth Our family will always grow In heaven above the earth Our loss is an angel's first flight
I am sad lost my dad 3 weeks ago love this song 😢

I’m sorry! I lost mine July 8, 2017 to cancer. This song hits home hard! But it wouldn’t mean a thing if he wasn’t the father he didn’t have to be!
I became a father for the first time today. I have loved this song for years and this is now my inspiration
What an amazing crowd! Pure goosebumps ❤️
I was there! Front row and yes I was singing for my grandad! ❤️

One of my favourite songs. such a amazing band
i love this song and this video brought me to my knees
Great video! This song helped me so much after my daddy passed away. Every time I here the intro, I am overcome with emotion both happiness for all that we shared together when he was alive and the great sadness of his death. Thank you so much for the song.

I was there the night this was filmed, it was an amazing gig, and this song always always sends a shiver down my spine. But to be surrounded by hundreds of people singing it loud and proud with you really is something else. I don't care where you are in the world it's worth getting to a rock gig in the UK Midlands just for the fans.
An evening like this is the dream of every musician
as cool as it is having the crowd sing the entire song by themselves, i really would like to se the singer actually sing the song, because his voice is so fucking amazing

Agreed! Love the band, but this is one of the songs you go to the gig to hear. Especially with his voice. Did it at Wembley as well. Hope he sings it next time. Pleased they come so far tho. I remember when they supported AB in 2011, knew they would make it!
Love this song. Today woulda been my dad's 65th birthday. Lost him 11 years ago. This song helped me through more tough times than you guys will ever know. Toughest but best lesson of my life.
Best song ever!! How gratifying to hear everyone sing it. Best lyrics ever. BLACK STONE CHERRY ROCKS!!!🤟🤟

WOW
"Things My Father Said" The things my father said would make me a better man Hard work and the love of friends, a woman that understands I hope my father knows the seeds we've sewn still grow At night I go to sleep and pray he's watching over me Somewhere there's a star that's shining So bright that I can see you smile And all that I need is one last chance Just to hear you say goodbye Sometimes I remember, when you taught me to tie my shoes One thing I will never forget, is the day that I lost you I hope you always know the car that we built will always roll Somewhere there's a star that's shining So bright that I can see you smile And all that I need is one last chance Just to hear you say goodbye And if you have a dream you better hang on for dear life And when that cold wind blows, just let it pass you by The things my father said Somewhere there's a star that's shining So bright that I can see you smile And all that I need is one last chance Just to hear you say goodbye
Why this doesn’t have like you know like a lot more views!!!??

Great song but isn't everyone there to hear Chris Robertson sing, not the crowd? I've been to two black stone cherry concerts and it's the same every time...great atmosphere but he always has the crowd sing half of his songs, especially things my father said.
sad 😓😓😓😓

Ok, i like the crowd participation but i wanted to hear them perform it not the crowd😂
