i know most trainees prefer to debut in big 4 companies but it's important to know that they have their own downsides too! i hope you find this short helpful.

Not that much… cause even ig there is talent they Still very Young kids like 16-17 mostly… or even if they are 19 Still very unexperienced! Talent is just a thing if you not keep and practice then it will be “dirty” (It’s Vica-reverse cause even if you are very hard working Still if you has no talent… 😬🧐) Also kpop never meant about the talent… 😅😂 even the most talented singer in the kpop is just very “fine” in the worldwide… mostly if we compring with the legends like michael Jackson and freddie mercury……… or just Bruno Mars…

@liaselle3385 I think it’s logical because they do spend a lot of money on trainees as well. I don’t think they immediately dismiss trainees that don’t do well. Don’t they do multiple evaluations in a year to see the progress of trainees? I guess if a trainee is not improving after multiple evals then that’s when they drop them? Correct me if I’m wrong though 😅

JYP’s thing is pretty logical in my opinion. Would you keep your trainee under your company for years on end just to let them down after them training for 4+ years? If they don’t see enough potential or improvement it’s better for the company to not invest and better for the trainees mental health to not have false hope. For me personally, I’d rather get cut off by JYP one year into training with them rather than having them wait to watch my skills improve or to see my potential just to cut me off after giving me false hope.

With HYBE, actually I don't believe that they have less training with the trainees. Sakura said that only with HYBE, she had proper training most especially with her voice. Kazuha also trained most especially in dancing because she practiced almost all of her life in ballet. She needs to train modern dance that is why HYBE sent a dancer trainer to her. So at least where bang pd is involved under hybe, he looks for potential, trainees also have a lot of lessons avaliable to them before they debute which I think would mean they care about building up their trainees

If you watch I-Land, you know how Bang Sihyuk asked Rain and Zico to not only look at the skills that the trainees have but to look more at the potential they have. So, it's not true that you have to be very talented in the first place to be their trainee. They see potential in you, whether you are able to develop further or not. Moa and Engene might know how Yeonjun and Heeseung said that when they entered Bighit, their dance skills were below the other trainees, yet a few years later they became the most multitalented trainees and dance prodigy. I would say that Hybe is more of a perfectionist in evaluation. When we think their performance is already good but their trainer feels they can do more than that, then they will be criticized. That way trainees know they can keep pushing and expand the potential they have, which ends up creating a lot of all-rounders.

You can say whatever you want about the big 4 but something they do offer their trainees is immediate and I mean IMMEDIATE popularity and success. It is almost impossible for groups that com from the big 4 to fail . The difference about debuting in a smaller label/company with a the big 4 is that you get fame and exposure even before debuting. The members from Baby monster ,a group from YG that hasn’t even debuted yet, have already a lot of fan accounts and the group is already being overhyped because it comes from YG. Groups like NMIXX, Le Sserafim, ITZY and others had a massive debut success while other groups from smaller companies celebrate getting their debut song to a million views. If you debut with the big 4 you have guaranteed success while if you debut with a smaller company you will be lucky that your label is not thinking about disbandment after the first year.

They are constantly thinking about disbandment and have to drop WAY MORE MUSIC and have WAY MORE COMEBACKS than big groups. Just look at P1Harmony … a group that comes from a smaller company and debuted like 2 years ago. They debuted 2 years ago yet I am pretty sure they have more songs than blackpink does and last year they had like 3 comebacks with like two tours in between comebacks. I am not saying it is easy for idols that debut on big companies … I am saying they get immediate recognition and fame without even needing to drop a song while smaller groups can consistently drop bangers and never get that recognition they deserve because their company can’t offer them that level of exposure.

Yeah what I was thinking. Kpop focuses a lot on visuals rather than talent. Most companies look for visuals, because they think the 'talent' can be trained. So I'm actually glad Hybe works this way, because they focus more on talent and creating good music. From the very beginning, Bighit's artists have been given a lot of creative freedom in music and expressing themselves (the things that music should actually be about). It's good to see groups like New Jeans and TXT also taking part in creating music. And the people that are chosen to get debuted actually do get a very hard training. To me it just feels less fabricated this way and like you're a robot trained to be like everyone else. Those idols are just trained to be money makers for their company.

Not to mention literally any other educational institution - things like martial arts classes, language classes, technical education. SM never force their trainees to do plastic surgeries. lots of SM well known former trainees already said it. they said that SM did get doctor and gave input about surgery, but the decision is on the trainees' hand. Seulgi even said it too, but she didn't want to do it. So she didn't until now. Eunhyuk also explained that he wanted to have surgery, but SM said that it's better if he didn't do it. So, no, they didn't force it. Also, SM didn't have DEBT system for their trainees like other agencies, so the trainees basically pays 0 during training and after debut; and still get accommodations, and whenever a new group will debut, they have their own Produce 101 among their trainees. it's almost impossible to expect SM to sent personal trainers/teacher for the dozens, maybe thousand trainees they had like hybe did lol. also that other companies have their trainees in DEBT, the company will pay everything, but it's going to be added as the trainees' debt which they had to pay after debut, the artists won't received the full amount of salary before their debt is cleared; some didn't get paid at all until it was cleared. until now, there's no known companies who didn't implement debting system other than SM. YG is unknown, and JYP still have debt system at least until 2pm/miss a era and it's not known whether they still did or not. like 2pm still have debt back then when Jay Park left 2pm. it was known by people then that if he voluntarily left the group, the company would remove his debt, Also whenever SM trainees wanted to leave or being eliminated, they gave recommendation letters to the other companies, so they didn't leave with nothing and can join other agencies right away, even without any audition (depends on the agency's policy); whether it's idol agency or acting agency. for example: Soyeon (ex t-ara), raina (after school), they got recommendations from SM and able to join new agency, and got into the debut line-up right away. there are a lot of similar cases for example from other agencies too. google it!

We saw ningning from her childhood as a singer in china to the present and find her the same. This is also the case with the dreamies. Most of what I heard is that SM choses visuals over talent, which as we all know, is a lie. Lol. SM artist's are real artist and are very talented. No one should ever argue with that. This makes their accusation more doubtful. Although these accusations still makes sense tho. Like its almost impossible to have idols which is very visually perfect. • @SunnyShlne

    @SunnyShlne

@Devashri Joshi I agree that the visual aspect is important for sm but it's the same for all labels, people forget that they sell their images. the surgeries are the same done to all the other artists, there are several accounts that are based on good research and are not biased, and we quickly realize that all those said to be "natural" never were. (Not that I care, i just love music) it is indeed the visuals that have had the least surgery most of the time. I regret this label comparison because their ultimate goal is not to tell the truth but to belittle certain labels, to give the impression of having perfect labels elsewhere without problems or dark history, in particular their favorite. it's not fair especially that this industry hides a lot in general and that the most "powerful" ones pay a little more attention to their image because they are watched more closely ex: JYP, SM,... YG (their image it may already be tarnished😅). I would worry about those small label that overnight becomes important and try to fit in with the big agencies. We know almost nothing about them and they have nothing to lose really, their popularity is protecting them for the moment but I don't think it will last.

SM doesn’t force their idols to get plastic surgery tho, they don’t even force them to get on diets, its always the artist choice. I remember that when the Red Velvet members gained weight for Dumb Dumb comeback netizens attacked them so much that they had to lose weight, but that was because of the hate the were getting, not because SM forced them. Also seulgi mentioned the company suggested her to get double eyelid surgery but she didn’t want to get it and the company didn’t force her to do it…she even debuted so i don’t think SM forces their idols to do things they don’t want to. SM is even one of the few companies that doesn’t care about their idols dating since debut, they don’t have a dating ban like JYP or YG, and the artists can also get tattoos and piercings if they want too since debut, for example ningning already has like three tattoos and she got them a few months after Aespa debuted

Like what other ex YG trainees said in shows after leaving YG, YG TRAINEES ARE VERY COMPETITIVE. If you want to survive, you need to always be at your Ultima bestsssss. Only a few can survive, only those who are crazy hungry to debut under YG.

it makes a lot of sense because hybe wants to discover what their artists/trainees can do and what things they are capable of when it comes to their job.

True lol, people here be praising hybe but it's the exact reason for which hybe idols are trolled. They are the best performers imo, but when it comes to singing, in a group barely 1-2 people can sing ( vocals. Good vocals, not talking about rappers).

I mean in this case hybe is the best they let their trainees improve on their own......I mean it's better than getting plastic surgery forcefully or debuting after a reallyyy longgg time or just not being able to debut after trying hard.......

it still aint something good, as a company hybe cant expect to have their idols or trainees develop skills by themselves, they have to be talented, which is a very rare occasion, they are there to train in the skills, so hybe has to provide trainers

Hybe is following western standards where a person works themselves and then they just pick up off the work you’ve done and help boost your already growing self. Which is great except when you’re right at the bottom with no resources. But then the flip side is companies that give resources the trainees end up in huge debts.

@@adisappointment3453 If a trainee pays a company thats true. But I don't know the inner workings of HYBE. At the end of the day HYBE is a big company with multiple subsidaries. From a business POV if they can spend less on trainee cost and increase on song production, music production, merchandising, video shooting and other hidden business costs to gather more content and oppotunities to then pay thier workers then it's the smart move. Not every company works the same way. and even comapnies that do pay for training might only pay low cost rather than decent level of training.
