Bought a house last year. And my favorite part was getting to paint the rooms however I want. You can't do that to your parents place. They choose the colors. You can't do that to apartments you rent which mine were all white walls. So I literally painted every room a different bright, happy color. Living room - green. Dining room -yellow. Bedroom - lavender! My house is a rainbow. And it's fabulous.

I still get excited spending money on things because I want them. Like, I don't have to ask my parents first? I can just buy this thing because I can? That's allowed??

So the coasters thing, I actually took it a step further and I learned how to crochet, and some of the first things that I made were a matching set of coasters for all of the rooms in my house. Then I made place mats for my dining room table. I skipped adult and went straight to Grandma.

Oh man. When I moved into an apartment with my then-boyfriend, I insisted on getting a tablecloth. Then I got nervous about getting food stains on the tablecloth, so I taught myself to knit a placemat. Then I decided I didn't like the texture of the placemat, so I followed a tutorial to quilt a set of placemats. Then we got married and moved into a house we rent, and I started backyard bird watching... I'm 26 and I'm scared for what I will be when I'm actually old someday.

I get genuinely excited over buying blankets. Also home decor. I don't need this shit. I don't have a place to put it but holy shit, I need all the decorative pillows and fairy lights. Another huge moment in adulting for me was buying my waffle iron. That was a beautiful day to me and sometimes I just spontaneously think that I have my own waffle iron and smile. Same thing with tupperware or dishes. Like I'm about to buy myself some bowls today

Ahh I'm the same as all of you! I love doing nothing SO MUCH. It's my favorite thing to do. Every weekend I look forward to doing nothing, so much so that if I have to do Something on the weekend then I tell myself I can account for it by doing nothing for the next three weekends afterward. I'm an introvert so I use up all my energy during the week at work; I need time to recharge alone at home with my dog and the internet and/or a tv show and/or good books. I used to think I wouldn't like living alone but holy fuck do I love it beyond anything else. It's the best. Financially sometimes it sucks, but as far as comfort level? 100%.

Since I was a kid, and I remember watching this video and being like nah I wouldn’t get excited about stuff like that….. uh I found a entry way table in great condition near the dumpsters and got so excited about it that I haven’t stopped telling everyone about it. Just the idea of finding something so adult that you needed to buy so I just saved a few hundred bucks. I know Jenna has moved on from youtube but watching her videos are so comforting. I've recently turned 20 and I've found myself revisiting/binging this stage of Jenna's videos about her just talking about life. And a fair amount of things in this video that she mentioned have been occuring in my own life and I haven't even fully realize it myself. The other day I had to buy a new pair of tires for my car I paid for it out of pocket and the whole process stressed me out and I hated every second of it. I'm not car savvy nor do I ever intend to be but having to be on the phone talking to the lovely gentleman on the other side of the line and awkwardly trying to read out my tire size like it was my first time ever reading felt. Like. Hell. Although I've yet to drop heavily into my young adult years thus far a lot of what she's mentioned as applied to me to some degree. I think that taking a step back and realizing that not everything is the end of the world really helps to mellow me out and that thing could be way worse. I'm incredibly thankful that Jenna made these sorts of videos because it helps just a little bit to make life a lot more fun because it feels like plenty of things make life so miserable.

Girl, I feel you. My boyfriend says I'm an old lady. I get excited about learning how to knit socks and imagine myself sitting in the subway with my 28 years of age, knitting and being (in my head, of course) like "Yeah, you look at your phone, I'll be making cozy little tubes that hug my feet. Commuting productivity level: expert!". I started a scarf at 19 or what and I was like "Yeah, I'm knitting a scarf in spring. What you gonna do about it?" I get excited for brussel sprout season and cooking soup for hours, and learning to make my own detergent, because green and shit, because green and economical and shit. Last year, I bought myself a casserole. It's white, it has a handle and it's emaille, so it's gonna last me forever. I get excited about investing in stuff I can one day force onto my grandchildren, like this frying that my mother gave me. It's steel and non-stick, because those fucking non-stick-coverages peel off and then you get them in your food and that's disgusting, and I will enjoy the hell out of lecturing my children to buy quality over quantity, because that's my jam now.

I still live with my parents (cause I'm broke af), so I spend a good part of each day dreaming about my own place. Not just for the privacy and the freedom, no, I'm just so freakin excited about the thought of DECORATING it. Couches and towels and glasses and plates. Handsoap and pillows and cooking stuff for myself. Inviting my friends over to play board games and make them meals. I've never felt more like a boring adult and honestly I'm a little scared.
