I've had two white swiss shepherds and I will say they are super dogs very gentle and loving. Too old now but I wish I could have another one but at 79 it's too old😢

I've been thinking about getting a dog. I wanted to get a Swiss Shepherd, but I do not know if it would be a good first dog. I know youtube is not the place to get information, but I still need a lot of different opinions to make my choice. @@jellybeancat7978 GET A CORGI!!! best dog breed, so help me. My latest is a Corgi 65%/Mini Aussie Shepard 35%. Her name is Sasha. She's such a fabulous tennis ball fetcher that she could almost play for a pro baseball team as a catcher. GET A CORGI!!!

I do recognise some things here 😍 WAIT, WHAT? The way Momo walks next to you in the hallway!!! That is pretty amazing to my opinion! 👍🏻 I like the talking, the hot pot (right?) and the excitement of Momo if you are sitting on the floor.

Haha thanks Arne. Whenever it gets close to meal time or snack o clock, she becomes literal velcro just following me. She probably assumes it's her job to do it or I'll forget to feed her. And yup, she loves hot pot. We usually reserve a few slices of meat and lightly boil it in water for her. Just so it feels like she's a part of hot pot nights.

We have white glitter donation piles all over the house as well. A out the food watching though: white shepherds are very smart, if you order them to sit a few meters away they do. We never give food from our table so the 'looks' are only there when it's almost time for a walk. And oooh thos looks can penetrate...

Mine was never a sporty one but more of a sniffer :p I say was because he has some issues with his paws so small walks now :s but he got a big garden and deers and chicken as companions :)

I feel that I got one too and I love the fur of your dog it's very white and looks very healthy and soft by that I can tell u feed her the right things, smol advice on castration my other white one pased away because of tumors that formed because she got castrated late at 5 yeas after the first heat you should let her get castrated to give her a longer life span :) just an advice also u probably know not to feed her graps or raw meat or give her bones and to whatcha out for birch sugar sorry if I'm coming of the wrong way I just think she's very cute and hope she gets a healthy and long cheerful life ^-^ [carrots make her fur turn orange]

Things I canno longer do with a swiss: feed my dog any meat protein, trust that I am the safe space when terrified, live in a warm house

So is there a difference in a white german shepherd and a white swiss shepherd? Mine is a WGS - both parents were typical tri color, black-faced GS's but both had the gene, so 2 of the pups were white. But she looks exactly like this one, although she has more tan in her fur than this one does.

Visually they look almost the same. WGS has a more sloped back and it is the personality of a typical german shepherd. WSS has a more upright stance so the back isn't as sloped and they are a more soft dog. More mellow and could be more timid. They would make terrible police dogs but great for therapy dogs.

@@ThePeachyMomo Mine acts more like the swiss than the GS. Very mellow and a bit timid, unless its a stranger coming into the house - then she is all bark but no bite. Just makes you think she is going to eat you.

They are all German Shepherd breeding stock. Not all German Shepherds have roached backs. That comes from breeding for show ring. Original breeds of working dog German Shepherds have straight backs and were herding dogs. I have an 8 year old black and tan GSD with no slope at all. Next door neighbors always have show type GSD with that bred in roached back.

all german shepherds are like that not just the white ones , bit over done with the hair bit over the floor but if thats the true case it just shows your not grooming the poor animal correctly . i used to groom my 2 a good 2 hours each a day in the hot times , my girls younger sibling brother from another litter went to a home with 2 young boys and a little girl and the little girl couldn’t go any where without him being by her side even in the park he was beside her all the time and no one would get near her

Same dogs. Originally bred as White German Shepherds in America. Imported to Switzerland and bred there as White Swiss Shepherds. Different bloodlines now with different breeders.

My White German Shepard does all the same things! lol

I'm able to get one and im thinking about it. Only drawback of owning a double coated dog for me is all the hair 😂

Lol I'd say do what makes you happy and don't worry about the fur. Just get a roomba. I use mine daily. As long as no one in the household is allergic to dog fur then all is good.

They shed twice a year. If you make sure to use a deshedding brush and vaccum once a day during shedding season then it's fine. The rest of the year the fur is very manageable. I just run my roomba daily while I'm out on walks so I don't have to worry about it. I highly recommend getting a robot vacuum.

Not that much each day thankfully. Those clips were from the peak of shedding season. But you'd definitely still have to run the vacuum or roomba daily. I highly recommend getting a roomba.

My roomba model is the 980 so it's not one of those cool new ones with the new self emptying feature. I typically have to empty it each time after I run the roomba daily because it is full but that only takes like 2 seconds and isn't a big deal. I'd rather run the roomba while we're out for a walk than spend time to physically vacuum the floor myself. My roomba cleaning routine was the same even before when I had a sheltie too. Get a vacuuming robot and pick one that has brushless rollers so the fur doesn't get crazy tangled. I highly recommend it. 👍
