Hi Jay, One thing I would highly suggest is to anchor those shelves at the top somewhere. Take it from personal experience 😉

beat me to it . that rack can easily become top heavy . there's a lot of weight and money stacked up there .

Also the thin mdf panels can easily crack under a heavy load .
Jay, speaking of dusting… a few months ago I started dusting with SWIFER “heavy duty” dusters ( they’re coated with a mineral oil ) on my stereo equipment, speakers everything. Eliminated the static problems I was having AND did improve the sound quality! I am non-mendaciously speaking.

Static build-up is a real issue with audio equipment. Unfortunately, the Emperor wears no clothes.
Really liked the video, it was nice to have a deeper look into your day to day journey. Looking forward to some of those component reviews as well, if they make your cut. I even had a few laughs! Thanks!
I can understand. Getting out of bed is a chore. Lol
Great episode Jay. You have been doing very well already. Your new points of emphasis will fit well I am sure. I think it’s actually those honest comments that most viewers enjoy most. 👍
Thanks for the content Jay . I think you are a straight shooter and I trust your opinion. I just want to mention that I hope you have a dehumidifier in your basement for the moisture. I hope someday I see enjoying a pair of speakers i designed it's all about the tone 😊
Drooling with all these exotic equipment! It is great that are reviewing YBA as it is sounding so musical! I am also extreemly interested in getting a GanFet amplifier and would definitely looking forward to your review on Orchard Audio.
Can't wait for you to review the Orchard amp! I've been liking the GaN stuff since you reviewed the AGD amps and I'm hyped. Hopefully you can compare to the hybrid amplifiers, since I'd probably be aiming to upgrade mine with a GaN amp. Good luck with the racks!
Great teaser video. Can't wait to hear your take on Borresen speakers and their electronics companions!
Thank you for explaining the critique versus criticism! I think your approach is very intelligent because there’s so many variables when it comes to home audio ! Keep putting out great content will continue to keep watching, and more importantly enjoying the music!
I want to hear a Ganfet roundup - Peachtree Gan 1, Orchard, AGD and throw Daniel Hertz in there (which I'm guessing is gannet even though they don't say it). Would be interesting to understand differences between the price points and implementations.
Definitely enjoyed this vlog-style video. I’m excited for the upcoming reviews! Specifically the Galion speakers and the Ares 12th dac. I’d also love to hear your thoughts on the Galion A75 vs Thallo. Hoping Thomas sent all his new gear your way 😁
Totally jealous of his basement storage area... 😮
My favoriter hoarder channel.
The animal grows to the size of its cage. Always enjoy your reviews. Thank you for posting.
New MP Dac. Looks like a must have!
Love the bonsais!!! Can you do a tour of the different live audiophile plants you have?
I'm curious about your future custom rack, sounds great!
Hi Jay. Yeah, dust is a problem and just bad for your gear long-term. I would suggest looking into a in-room HEPA filter and see if that helps with the circulating dust. Otherwise if you run a HVAC forced air heating system, that could be causing a lot of dust to be brought into that room, so potentially getting your ducts cleaned regularly and replacing the filter with a better filter could help. Thanks for putting out quality content as usual!
I'm thrilled to see you holding that Musical Paradise MP-DX dac. I have a LOT of respect for Musical Paradise products. They have a little tube integrated amp that i have owned for four years now. I just upgraded the capacitors inside, as well as one or two other small mods, and this little amp is now just blowing my mind! I also owned their MP-D1 tube dac, and have just upgraded to the new MP-DX. It hasn't arrived yet, but i am soooo looking forward to getting it into my system! Musical Paradise has a good reputation for making very musical gear that responds well to upgrading parts like the capacitors, etc. And with the MP-DX dac, a lot of the upgrades that people were choosing are now being offered as options when you purchase it. . . . oh, and I love the bonsai trees!!!!!
Rapid Racking, the blue & Orange stuff, no bolts no nuts all slots together can take up to 800kg. Its fantastic shelfing, you would love. Rapid 1 Heavy Duty Shelving, take a look. Its really good shelfing, tried and tested it myself...
It would be awesome if you put the link of the rack also on description ❤
Man, I hear the name ADCOM and it brings me back to the start of my hifi. I wished they’d make an integrated amp since I don’t do separates anymore
Hi Jay! I am very curious to see your detailed review of the Shanling ET-3 CD transport, mainly for the CD upsampling capacity and connectivity to various DACs. Keep up the good work :)
i like those adcom 5x5 series. dirt cheap. suppposedly the regular 535 is the one that sounds the best.
Jay, would love to hear your thoughts on comparison to Rosso Fiorentino Certaldo when you review the Borreson
I can agree the basement was a "challenging" experience 😅
Fun Video.. let us know is you have a garage sale??
Jay, You have to try the Musical Fidelity A1 with the 1TDX. Amazing combo. Just add your favorite DAC and streamer.

Very interesting. I have the 1TDX and find them extremely power hungry. Is the A1 really enough? Very interested in an A1…
Dusty environment. Consider getting a Blueair HEPA filter air purifier. I’ve got one at my shop and the dust went down a ton and I just keep it on low. 😊
Looks like you got Musical Paradise MP-DX DAC, good choice for a very interesting review. We know you have a bunch of tubes and capacitors to try.
Please review the A8 as you did the A6 and A6 ME
Jay, if you’d like to, we can just store all that gear at my house. That way you can get some room back and stuff…

Man the life of product reviewer is bed of roses :)
Jay you need a Hepa filter air purifier. Get one that's much too big for the room and it will make a big difference in dust
I saw Novaris Excalibur in your rack ,hope to hear your review soon
Pressboard is fragile . I used 3/4" plywood cut to 2x4' more confidence. Any earthquakes in Canada? iso anchor the stands to the wall. There's enough weight there to kill someone.

Jay, I just had a thought. *Make sure you have enough home owner’s or renter’s insurance. There’s probably more value inside your place than you think.
Sweet !
I like your 48 hour approach .. much more efficient than Sean’s 48 month test. 😂
Jay great show. Your rack isn't going to work. More importantly, the MDF shelves you have will sag. You need an industrial grade rack. These racks sometimes come with high strength metal mesh but you need to place engineered stone on top which will allow you to easily slide your components in and out. By engineered stone, something like 3/4" thick Caesar Stone will work great! And make sure you anchor the top of the rack back to the wall so the rack itself won't tip. Anchor it to at least 2 studs!
Saw the Thomas speakers
Hi Jay, have you ever heard Guru Audio speakers from Sweden? If not you should try it, it would be interesting to have your opinion. Oh, and by the way continue the great job with the channel, will not miss a video!
Well...... I'm gealous. Are all those amps / equipment donated for your evaluation? I've worked a lifetime just to get to a point where I can afford a tube amp and build my oun speaker based on the LS6 by Danny.
those shelves are £ 18 each. i have many of them.purchase the more expensive versions.they come with much thicker shelving.might make you feel a bit more comfortable putting expensive items on them.
The Bonsais rule 💣
Bonsai!
Time for a fire sale.
Have them sign YOUR contract.
Since you don't do reviews about cables, maybe get them as a sponsor. But being enthusiastic about a product, keep doing it. Grtz Phil
Hi Jay, love the channel and the content. Lots of cool gear in for review, and I am looking forward to it. However, can we talk about the NAT Audio in the room? Are these amplifiers going to get reviewed? Are they in the room just for aesthetic purposes? It's like they are in the video's just for a tease. I have never seen a video on these amplifiers except for OCD Mikey who sells them. Would like to see a video review on these cool looking amplifiers.
Jay - where did you get that jacket from. I like that.
Bolt them together for added strength
Just a thought... well, two. Screw that shelf to the wall. Have a yard sale, auction, give-away... 😎
At the end of the day a lot of people are just mad someone is getting paid. It doesn't matter if you're a full time influencer or nuclear engineer. Everyone thinks their job is the hardest/most important. Personally I think audio reviewers are taken advantage of by many companies. While the brands they promote typically for free are popping champane as their five or six figure products sell from reviewers marketing the reviewer gets nothing but a 60-day in home demo. I know influencers who are getting $30,000 deals for dog food when their main content isn't even dog related. Obviously high end audio isnt as big a market as dog food, but I feel like it's bad for all involved for audio reviewers to be paid in exposure only or rely on viewer donations while the brand owners get to whip Ferraris and $100,000 diamond Rolexes
Jay T_T the only difference between the Ares 2 and Ares 12th is the firmware to resolve the latency issues surrounding the FPGA; theres no substantial difference between the two units unless Audio/Visual/Mixed Media is a thing you're using it for (gaming/movies/youtube/multimedia). I suppose the addition of a I2S is a hardware difference, but really there's no difference sonically if one is able to get their firmware upgraded.
sell-sell-sell/money in the bank !
Nice.
dusting just moves dust around!
For a second I thought you were unboxing some new Magnepans, nope… just a storage rack
@Jay - Who said a dating app. is not applicable to audiophiles??? At least with dating app. you can put 'audiophile' in your profile, so they don't think you are nuts when they see racks upon racks of audio gear.
dom't don't think they can Handle the Combo !! LoL !!
uhh-ohh ! not again ! lol !
Hello Jay. Will you visit the High End Audio Munich 2024? Kind Regards Daniel
I know it isn't the focus of yor channel but it would be nice if you could review more affordable and budget gear. You could still keep the focus on higher end gear, but once in a while review something that you find really good in the budget range and slightly more often something affordable. (i know, i know, you've just mentioned some budget and affordable gear but i mean on a more permanent basis)

i ask myself, where the hell the Damb Dust come From !

How does the significant other tolerate that collection? maybe you should start giving relationship advice.
It would be very meaningful if you made one of those KZread shorts videos at the least, in order to save our money from a bad-sounding-product (common consensus of traits disregarded by audiophiles, i.e. brightness, technical defects in playback, humming/electrical distortion) if you should ever come by one, while you are making videos about shelves and all. Like the hair ;)

You definitely need a rack when you borrow all that gear.
Soon you gonna need a place like Z 😂
If you make a new video each time you put a product on your rack... you will need 3 months to clean the room !! ^^
Do you bought all this stuff and if yes, why? 😂
Er, if you don't think reviewing "bad" products would be of benefit to us, because "we might not find it bad" ... er, does the same logic not apply to good product reviews? Feels like you are dodging around some truth there; even if it's subconscious. It would be a lie, to state that "people do not use your reviews to help inform their own decisions." Honestly reviewing bad products would do a lot of people a lot of good. Whether through truthful criticism leading to a better product; or from people being able to avoid likely bad purchases. Bad product reviews only help the industry as a whole. For the same reason that competition is necessary. All that said, I enjoy your channel and thanks for all the interesting and entertaining content.

Thanks. Aside from that, like I said, I just don't have the time, will or energy to focus on such things. If its just pure garbage and not a matter of "taste or possibly, I just don't have the right pairing" - of course I will disclose that to my viewers but often than not, its either that I don't have right associated gear/pairing or situation. For example; it wouldn't be fair of me to review a gigantic speaker in my room that barely fits and complain about "boomy bass"
I felt that NRD Typhon review was a hit piece w/ a click bait title. Nobody else measured a bump in the high end. Where was the measured response supporting the "f-rt" claim. Impressive room treatment but losing respect for his discourse. Seemed like a personal attack on you with little respect to CSS engineering or the project as a whole.

Strange I felt the opposite Ron put a ton of time and effort into that review. I thought the sound demos were helpful with a nice set of iems you can clearly hear the difference between typhon, gr, sapphire, and source point 10. He mentioned the fart as a joke. But everything he described I could hear. The typhon was my 2nd fav speaker in the sound clip after the gr but the gr looks built for dorm rooms.

@@sdads7531tbh he does more positive reviews for Spatial Audio than GR. I live near the spatial hq and went to their demo room 3-4 times to hear their m3 sapphires and x5 setup. Clayton Shaw sat personally with me for an hour talking about speakers and music. I bought the m3 for awhile then sold finally landed on Maggie 1.7i.

Just saying something sucks brings no value. One of the biggest lies told by reviewers. It would be huge value to know what doesn't stack up against the competition. Translation: saying something sucks will hurt my revenue stream. Of course you only make positive reviews as you refuse to review products you don't like.
By you keep saying that "you are not taking full credit for it" multiple times, you are kind of saying that you are "kind" of taking credit for it, Jay. It might have been better to just say, reviewers and general public on the internets voiced their opinion about the possible enhancements that manufacturers can make. It also reminded me of that one time that you kept mentioning a manufacturer should sponsor you, more than one time in a video. It may seem like an ongoing joke for you, may possibly come across as disingenuous to viewers.
