I was overweight, diagnosed with stage 3 ckd and congestive heart failure. That was almost 4 years ago. Due to diet and exercise the weight definitely came off. I lost almost 70 pounds. If I can do it anyone can! Good luck Al!

CAUTION on the water -- a gallon is much more than most people can tolerate and can even cause heart failure if the kidneys can not filter timely. I have lost several patients caused by excess water intake and it broke my heart more than those lost by horrible disease. Wishing you the best on your challenge -- the exercise, diet, and reading are fabulous habits to develop.

Don't drink reverse osmosis water either ..theirs nothing in it at all .. dead waTer.. . Put a very little pinch of real salt in your water ..or hemilayn salt .they have many minerals you need. Water yes but through the day..... 1 gal jug ..sip trhough the day..eat less

  • @janine8933

Hello Al and Shiloh, Please rethink doing this challenge. Firstly, drinking a gallon of water per day, is NOT very good for you. It will seriously seriously dillute the levels of sodium and electrolytes in your body (could possibly put your health at risk) and also overworks your kidneys. You should only drink to stay hydrated, at tops no more than 3/4 of a gallon at max. That is way too much exercise. A walk every other day....yes. Weight training should only be 1 or 2 times a week. Al, you want to add muscle, try doing 100 meter sprints......make sure not to go over 100 meters. Look up a 100 meter sprinter vs the top runner. The sprinter has a good body. Make sure to start off very slow and work your way up......getting your form correct is key. You don't want to pull something. You can sprint once or twice a week. Please take my suggestion to heart. 😎 P.S. the comsuming water craze was all about selling water and making money.

I'm going to disagree with u- if ur fear of information is by external information turn you're not fully agree that this is a " Spiritual," overhaul that is taken place on this planet and because America doesn't n hasn't taught the truth about everything,... it misleads information..... U came across in fear like your body is incapable of change as well as being able to transform itself mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually..... hell, most don't even know that your "Biggest organ is ur skin"!!!!! For the years that food has changed from pure something to chemically altered n diluted over generations,.... it's a good thing to flush out ur system n change habits, n that ol thinking of omggggggg that's to much water is not true......I am a specialist in the mechanics of the body and because our bodies are made up of alot of water, water is not going to hurt u but in fact water is not only capable of giving u instant energy but it also will keep ur skin youthful! I actually know all of this and more because I have done it before I speak it and the lack of wisdom n knowledge hidden in this country is very deceptive which leads to alot of believing n buying into what experts say not knowing there's hidden truth because of agendas!

Do not put too much on yourself. You are human and you can also caused un-needed stress by setting goals that you may not be able to stick with, causing you to stress over it. I would of Never let my sons start a goal to have the perfect record to never miss a day of school, or work. It is too much to live up to. I think two things already you should only do them if you really want to, but if not Don't worry over them The drinking of all that amount of water, and the ten pages of a book. Setting goals should be something you won't mind doing. Things in life pop up and can knock us off course, learning to work thru those things give you more power then lots of things. I decided to stop drinking, that was 47 yrs ago, and still am sober. It was one day at a time but with time that is how I live because I wanted that more than anything for my sons to have a sober mom. Good luck but again, be You Al and just each day try to do the things you just REALLY want to do.

Shiloh, you summed it up correctly with getting in the right headspace. Al, your wife is telling you that you might jump into things real quick without thinking about it, and I understand because I do that too. However, I am preparing myself for a diet that is more like a lifestyle Change. It’s one that is geared to me as a woman so I have to get into the right headspace before I begin. I have slowly been eliminating things that the diet suggests. (no artificial colors, flavors) And once I feel a few of those steps are in place, I can begin! I want to make it work this time, and I want it to be forever. You got a look at it now! Shiloh, please take very good care of your ankle!

I was baptised in 1958....Diehard Catholic for over 55 years. I attended mass 6 days a week. Sang in the choir was a Knight of the Altar. I have "heard" the complete bible read at mass 18 times and I have read it myself 7 times. I was in a Christian rock band and wanted to better be able to put forth the "word" at concerts to the non believers. LOL....boy was I in for a shock. Have you ever looked into the books of the bible? Really studied from the ancient writings? Baal....Marduk....Yahweh....all gods of war, stroms, and blood sacrifice. How much blood has been spilled over religion? My god is better than your god.....The Church killed everyone that would not bend the knee to their god. Ever hear of the crusades? I am jealous, vengeful, and I demand you bow to me....that is the god of the bible. Prove me wrong

@@BlazinRiver1 the age of grace with a new commandment was ushered in through Christ's sacrifice for sin. Most of us fail at this but it holds true. Mark 12:30-31 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” /Confessing our sins to God matters, water baptism too. Since we are relational made in God's image... are jealous at times, kick but too... means we are his kids... so there is nothing to reject here. It is who and whose we are. Just talk to God since he sees and cares very much. KZread Instrumental worship music is amazing. Read New Testament 1 Chronicles. It peels away layers of religious demands. Christ came to do away with the law, but sadly the Church ads to it. Stay focused in Christ's finished work on the cross and resurrection. His gift abundant life is for those who believe. Healing hearts go up to you and your family.

I too have anxiety and depression. I'm on medicine for it since my mom passed in November. The thing that had begun to help me has been reading my Bible more everyday. I'm reading through the Bible App and on the Kindle App. Both keep up with your progress for you. So it's accountability. I have 63 days straight on the Bible App and 175 days on Kindle. The reading isn't hard for me. I love to read. The hardest part is making sure I drink all the water because I fail at that most days. The exercise is also something I struggle with because of spinal problems and hip pain. But I'm going to try sit down yoga to see if I can handle that. My suggestion for book reading is be sure it's something that interest you. That makes it easy to read the 10 pages. Can't wait to watch your and Shiloh progress. Yell have a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing it with the world. GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY

The first thing is to have a complete blood workup done and know if the major ones are low such as especially for Men are...Vitamin D, Omega 3, folate and the B complex! I'm also a believer in the power of daily prayer and reminder that Motion, keeps the emotions intact! You are so adored Al by many! Bless you and your beautiful family. You got this! Cheers! Ps. Not sure where you got that challenge from but you should adapt it to your body needs. #1, read anything you enjoy, not just self help books. #2, over-exercising your body may do more harm than good. #3, a good formula for drinking water is 1/2 your body weight in ounces. If you weigh 100 lbs, you should drink 50 ozs. You may need more or less depending on activity or weather.

He now has 4 small meals & of course his snacks🙏 Hubby has finally gained about 30lbs & needs at least 10 to 15 more🙏 I want to say great job working together❤️ 👏🙏

I've been working with my anxiety for over 30 years. One of the things I've had to learn is to NEVER feel like I've failed-- that's putting pressure on myself. I just readjust my previous plan. I also avoid putting too much on my plate. Like, 1 or 2 things a day for a week, then I add a 3rd thing for a week, etc. Deep breathing is a must for me, several times a day. I went from almost total agoraphobia to eventually going back to school and working in both a hospital lab and volunteer fire fighter and emt. Be gentle with yourself. Ditch expectations. I've found anticipation can freeze me in my tracks. We're on this journey with you!!! ❤

Al I have dealt with depression for yrs took medicines did therapy. I walked away from pharmaceuticals 7 yrs ago the best decision I made because for me it made it worse. What I replaced it with is prayer that I say every time I feel overwhelmed. Goes like this. " I put on my helmet of salvation to protect me from the fiery darts of evil , God protect my mind my emotions, my memories, my thoughts from that which tries to attack me. I'm the righteousness of Christ Jesus I'm the head and not the tail, I'm above and not below ". I say this prayer every time I get overwhelmed until I get a breakthrough sometimes it's instant some times it takes repeating several times but I do it till I get a breakthrough. Prayers for your breakthrough.

I still don't like the word diet bc it doesn't fully describe the intentions. for the rest of my life. anyway, I have dieted before and was successful at 1350 calories per day and 50-60% carbs as well as a daily journal of everything I ate and drank. as of 12/24/23 I lost 51+ pounds. that's over 3 yrs and over 50 lbs at the age of 69 now... I have since gained the winter weight I'm struggling with still, but if I stress out about it, that just makes it worse. at my age I did not expect a large loss. I did however know that it would take probably 3-5 yrs to acheive a decent weight goal and keep it off... try that. you may have to adjust the calorie numbers, but if it works, use it!

Only 30 seconds in and I'm all about breathing techniques to curb anxiety. I struggle my whole life with it and right now I'm severely depressed but I'm a fighter and take one day at a time. But I use to have bad anxiety and panic attacks many many years ago and occasionally I feel then coming on mainly because my depression gets me thinking to much sometimes and I'll have to get up and walk away and refocus my thoughts while doing breathing techniques. Been a godsend for me over the years on controlling it. I've tried so the medications and me ( others are different) they caused more bad then good and I'm working through it naturally trying to watch diet and exercise. Both are huge influences on it. Oh and sleep is probably even bigger. I lack the sleep and struggle with insomnia from time to time and also migraines since I was 10yrs old and I'm 47 now. Those two alone cause depression. But I applaud you on the breathing techniques. Keep up the work and you can conquer it. 💪💯

Hi Al and Shiloh (sp), 🙋🏻‍♀️ Great to see you again. I just wanted to say that challenges like you are trying to undertake are simply just challenges. They set a guide but are not meant to be etched in stone. What I mean is the bank is not going to come take your house away because you don’t follow the challenge perfectly. As a matter of fact, challenges are not meant to be followed exactly- they are a guide. You decide what works best for you of the challenge at any given moment in your day when attempting to practice a part of the challenge. Placing hard goal expectations on yourself only adds more anxiety and panic attacks to the normal peaceful flow of your life. In your healing journey now you must keep this in mind at all times. Be gentle and kind to yourself. Love yourself first, fill your cup up first so that you have something to give, so that your life can be an outpouring of the self love you have given yourself. This is the quiet, peaceful balance of life that you are seeking. This is the place where your healing comes. Rest, peace, quiet, loving yourself, loving others. Turn off and leave behind all noise and distractions, news, tv, movies etc. Get quiet with yourself. Your healing is found in the peace that passes all understanding. Much love to you both and the kids. Blessings. Patricia 🫶🏼💫

Great for you, if you don't know it you're also Grounding by allowing you feet to touch the grass and pull negative energy out, I been saying I need to do it but, we just had snow so the grass is wet. But, grounding is God's way of natural healing pulling negative vibrations put of the body! You just confirmed I'm to do it, ground also consist of hugging trees for a few minutes I like to have the grass pull me by touching it for 30 minutes a day! So much negative energy in the air pur bodies absorb it. You're on the Right Track, Blessings. My daughter has anxiety she hugs trees and it works.

Your 45 minute workouts could be your lawn mowing You work really hard probably longer than 45 minutes. One day at a time and don’t forget to thank Jesus. Speak to Him all day long. Bows a good time if you haven’t already to teach the children the Lord’s Prayer. Praying for your family. Love y’all

Also lack of sunlight is a huge contributer to anxiety and depression and these new LED lightbulbs do not let off any UV that we need so the first thing I did was replace all the bulbs in my house to regular Incandescent bulbs and ordered on Amazon a "uv happy lamp" that I turn on every morning. Game charger let me tell ya. Cheers!

Hi Al! Love your channels and was sad to see your health struggles. I may have a solution for that you may not have thought of and it affected me in a similar way as you when I was your age, such as panic attacks, headaches, feeling like I was going to die at any minute, anxiety and just feeling WEIRD! For me, it turned out to be caffeine sensitivity. If you regularly indulge in coffee, caffeinated sodas or especially energy drinks, this might be the root cause of your issues. I went off completely off coffee and caffeine for a good while and all of my symptoms disappeared. I was able to drink coffee again after a while, but I am always on lookout for symptoms to return and if they do, I immediately cut back. I had a coworker that had these symptoms and was on medication for years. I suggested he look into caffeine sensitivity and to be completely off it for at least two weeks to allow time for the body to recover. He switched to decaffeinated coffee because he couldn’t go without it, but he said it was like a miracle!!! His symptoms completely disappeared after dealing with it for years! Whenever I see him, he thanks me profusely for telling him about this. So, if this is you, please read up on the topic and get yourself off caffeine for a good while and you’ll me amazed at how much better you feel! Good luck!

Al try chair pilates. Or wall exercises. They both work great. Your diet looks healthy already. My son had trouble gaining weight because he is hyperactive. He ended up using protein powder. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because of the health risks. He stopped after I told him about the side effects. So stay healthy and ask your doctor about the best diet for weight gain. Good luck with your challenge, can't wait for an update....you can do this.

Al, if it's anxiety/worrying then maybe some form of Yoga could help. Also, I started "GROUNDING" (walking with bare feet on the ground, especially outside, no matter what the weather, including rain/snow) was exceedingly helpful for me. Stop all intake of coffee/tea after 6pm for a much better nights sleep (no caffeine after 6pm) . one other thing, drinking a cup of hot water with half of an organic lemon and a spoon or two of organic honey either last thing at night or first thing in the morning (or both), it actually gets addictive after a few days and good for you. Hope these help you, hugs and love from Ireland 💚🤍🧡

Life has it's rough spots Al. Everyone, in one way or another, has difficulties in maneuvering it. This doesn't make it no less complicated for one individual. We always think we're alone. Well, I'm on that boat with you at this point in my life. And it sucks. Your way of getting around this situation is extremely gratifying. There is a lot of the plan you have mapped out that would not fit in my schedule. But they do give me ideas for myself. I wasn't going to watch this video. At this point I think we both know why. But I know how dedicated you are to pull yourself up by the boot straps to get through it, so I know encouragement is important. I commend you for the action you are taking. And, God bless your wife. Kids are really cute. Those 3 people in your life love you and depend on you. Strength in numbers Al. God's on your side also. Along with his army. You're going to find that these small acts will stay you past the 75 days. Good luck and God Bless you and yours. Verna

Love what you do to help people on your lawn care channel as well. This new challenge you’re taking on seems a little much from our side of the camera. Maybe you should coast for a while and build back your health a little more gradually. Listen to Shiloh’s first response. She has a lot of wisdom and she could use a break as well. You’ve both been through a lot. We want you to be here for the long haul. Listen to your body and take a day at a time for a bit. Enjoy those kiddos and family time. Sending our love to you all from Arizona ‘cuz we care about you. -Jana 😊❤

Speaking of Depression, my brother just took his life 2 weeks ago because he was depressed, he lost his job and wasn’t able to feed his family and kids, so he took his and his 3 kids and wife along with him, so when you think you have it bad, imagine not having money to put a roof over your head and unable to feed your children…. Life can be worse, sometimes you have to be thankful and appreciate everything that you have, it’s not about you, kids look at you to take care of them and if you just think of yourself, that’s pretty selfish and shitty 🤷‍♀️

I TOO HAVE ANXIETY....& THE 1 THING THAT WORKS EVERY TIME>>> IS I PRAY IMMEDIATELY AND ASK GOD TO GIVE ME HIS HOLY SPIRIT'S STRENGTH & HAND HIM MY ANXIETY~ The Bible urges us: “Throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) How, though, can you do that? We will consider four ways. You can (1) pray, (2) read and meditate on God’s Word, (3) let Jehovah’s holy spirit help you, and (4) talk to someone you trust about how you feel.

As far as breathing exercises, you might like to see if you can find "4 by 4" breathing exerci ses for relaxation and stress relief. Many years ago I came across them in a Reader's Digest. I believe it's a technique used by some military. Basically doing 4-second counts of exhaling, inhaling, holding and slowly releasing breaths, doing or working up to 4 sets. I still do them occasionally if I feel myself stressed out. Awesome that you are a Bible believing, praying family. I have lifted you and your family up for healing in Jesus ' name. Thank you for sharing and being vulnerable. God's got you.

I totally get whats going on Al. Been watching you for short while. Love your videos. Not sure your age. My issues started at age 29. I am now soon to be 64. Ive found that Magnesium Glysinate has been a life saver in my journey. I take 2 - 650mg capsules in am and 2 -capsules in pm. Great source of natural calming of the anxiety plus relaxing. From experience, try not dive too much, too fast into excercise. Like Shiloh said. Take your time. I care for your health. It is very important. Along with your breathing exercises and if you can. Gradually get into the cold water bath. When able, look into KZread regarding the Vagus Nerve. Very helpful. Hope this helps. At least study up on it. Much love.

It's good to have goals and all, and this may be good for young people, but I have my own goals and would rather follow those than someone elses. I have a specific diet that I have to follow and it is none of the fad diets. It is geared to my own individual medical and physical needs. I read 20 mins a day. Exercise for 15-30 mins per day. If I feel the need to read fiction, I do, it is great for the mind and relaxation/escape. I don't follow anyone's patterns, I have my own. The few things I've done lately due to anxiety and HBP is cut bag significantly on caffeine, salty pre-made foods, fast food, and restaurant food, and eating more fresh food and homemade ( I don't ever, and never have, added salt to anything). I drink as much water as I need to - maybe 2-3 liters a day depending on activity and weather. Only drink a gallon or close to that during the hot summer when I am outdoors more. I've replaced sodas with La Crouix sparkling waters. Though I'm allowed a treat now and again. And I firmly believe in rewards such as an occasional soda. Lifestyle changes, not just a short burst. Also very hard for anyone who works. But,... you do you... and if this helps you, good. But I think it's just setting oneself up for failure. Don't see it as failure. Every day is a success. So if you do it for 9 days. Hurrah!
