Kiss's first album is the best out of the first 3, in my opinion. It's got a lot of my all-time favorites on it, like Strutter, Black Diamond, Firehouse, and Cold Gin.

Yes, "Vinnie Vincent" definitely saved. "Kiss" for the 80's, but I think "Eric Carr" had something to do with it as well!

There’s a lot of KISS reviews and podcast all over KZread, but yours is the best dude. I enjoy your enthusiasm and your over all presentation of the band. I’m usually inclined to think “HTH”, but those first 3 are my first choices regardless…. Each one spends at least a part of any given year as the best for me. “KISS” has the Stones-y swagger, “HTH” has the weight, and “Dressed” is short and to the point-AKNF-plus it has “She”…..

Thank god you like Saint & Sinner now. That shit drove me crazy forever.

The debut album is my favourite of the first three, by far. Hardly ever listen to it though, simply because all the versions on Alive! just blow the ones from that first album away. Not got a bad word to say about KISS material from '74-'77, all pure gold. (Love the channel by the way, mate. Really appreciate your enthusiasm and knowledge of what you discuss. I really love the intro to "Got to Choose". The rest of the song is pretty good, but that intro is a highlight.

I think the 1st KISS album is the best of the original three. And glad you changed your mind on "Got Love For Sale" it's one of my favorite songs on the album.

My top 3 Kiss studio albums are: 1. Creatures Of The Night ( First album I heard from them and fell in love instantly ) 2. Lick It Up ( First album I bought when it was brand new. Dirty, nasty, heavy album. Just like rock n' roll should be ) 2. Kiss ( I just love that album to death and it has Black Diamond. My fav Kiss tune )

Any Way You Want It got me into the DC5. Thanks to KISS for that.

KISS 1974 is my fav studio album by them. I love every song yes Kissen Time and Theme from Kiss too. Also has my fav song from KISS of all time 100,000 Years ( Ace solo on it is melting my face ) it is just a wicked album. I love all the Kiss albums till UNMASKED and after that ASYLUM ( shit Dr.Fukk itta shitah ) love me DYNASTY -ELDER-CREATURES-LICK and ANIMALIZE ( yes Dr.Fukk~~walking around like a miss~~ter~~eeeee) we do agree though that ALIVE! Is the album to have if on a desert island ( don't know how we play it but we have it) love your vids and please never stop...like my mom said to you last night :-p...THRASH OR DIE \m/- ( see that Dr added a thumb to the horns like Geinie ;)

I never used to listen to the first kiss album but when I got back into vinyl and got the 180 gram reissue of it it's been spinning non stop I could possibly be my favorite album of the first 3 at this point.

I do love the first album. It's my go to for cruising in the car. It has a Boogie the other albums don't have. Dressed to Kill was my fave of the first 3 as a kid, but it's too short. The dead space between the songs is almost comical. C'mon & Love Me is a masterpiece. Hotter Than Hell was a bit too dark for me as a kid, but I love it as an adult.

When I first got into Kiss, I mostly bought compilations because, not having much money, I wanted something from every era to listen to. When I decided to buy my first studio album, I chose the debut album. I took it home, put it in my CD player, and sat and listened from start to finish, the first time I listened to an album all the way through. I listened to it nonstop for months until I got my next compilation lol. While I love Hotter Than Hell and Dressed to Kill, I would have to choose the first album as my favorite because of the personal history I have it with.

Dressed To Kill is a different animal compared to the first 2. But it would be hard to decide which of the 3 is the best one. Destroyer is its own animal, and RARO is similar to Love Gun

I am amazed how well the songs from the first three albums still hold up today. Kiss Alive sounds like it could have been made today. Destroyer is great for me because it was the first time I was introduced to KISS, I was in the fifth grade. I saw the album cover and was stunned. I was like... what is this... who is this... I was into Marvel comics at the time and I was thinking they were like some kind of hero's like the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. And I agree, the Love Gun cover is the best ever. the style is amazing. And I love KISS Alive Two... Alive One sounds like they are hungry and raw and ready to destroy everything. Alive two sounds like Kiss at their peak. Sounds like you're in the middle of a million people. Love your video's

The title track was great and the song "Dreaming" is good if you don't mind it ripping off "I'm Eighteen" from Alice Cooper. The only two good songs on Psycho Circus imho.

I grew up with Psycho Circus so i have a kind of nostalgic bias towards it, but i think it mostly gets hate because Ace and Peter don't play much on it. Other than that it's a good album! The last 2 studio albums haven't interested me tbh, i am done with new Kiss music i will just keep to the older material + Revenge and Psycho Circus

I respect your opinions so much my kiss bro, because you encourage everyone else to have respect for each other. Yes Ace is my favorite member too, but its true he was a fuck up. Its sad because i looked up their net worth each and Ace is only worth a million compared to Gene's four hundred million. I refuse to accept the fact that Gene and Paul never dabbled in drugs though, because the lyrics to certain songs like mainline are pretty obvious that their about drugs. They just had the better business minds i think and probably read through contracts more than Ace and Peter did.

I appreciate your love for Monster. A lot of KISS fans seem to hate it, and I don't understand why. It's a perfect book end to the discography imo

I'm one. The self titled album is the best out of the first three for me. Every song is awesome..even Kissin' Time because Kiss covers are great. And Love Theme, From Kiss is just fuckin' awesome, too. Let me tell you something about The Love Theme, From Kiss. It's a trump card! Every time I slip this into into a playlist for people who laugh at me or bash Kiss, they ask about it when it comes on because they don't know who it is. It's freakin' groovy. It sounds like an old cop show theme or something. It must be good because people keep asking about it when it's on. When I tell them that it's Kiss, it's funny to watch their faces change expression. The Love Theme, From Kiss is a great tune and every song on KISS is perfect. I even love the shitty sound quality of that album. That is Kiss to me and Dressed To Kill is a close second. And going back to The Love Theme for a second, besides Any Way You Slice It, Journey Of 1000 Years and Do You Remember Rock And Roll Radio?, I would rather hear The Love Theme, From Kiss than and any song they ever recorded after the Lick It Up album. (unplugged album aside).

I have All the Kiss studio albums i honestly do not have a favorite but Lick It Up is very sentimental to me cause it is the first Kiss album i ever bought. For me personally all the Kiss albums have some songs i love some i hate. i Think they are all good in there own right in there own ways.

Thanks so much for all the kick ass reviews dude. I have a question. Where are you getting your 180 gram albums from? Are you getting them online from one website or collecting them from different sites?

I do honestly love the first KISS album the most of the three....I'd go Dressed to Kill #2 (although there's 2 songs on I am not crazy about ) and then Hotter than Hell. I love all 3 though...so this is like saying...you like one kid more than another or something....they are all just different and depends on my mood...but hands down the first record is my favorite...that I do know. (was NOT my first KISS record I owned....KISS Alive II was)

The debut is the better album out of the first 3 easily..DtK and HtH have some really good tunes but as a whole album do not compare to their debut..

Is The Originals available today? Doesn’t make much sense that it would be but the booklet was the most awesome extra ever put in an album.

Look at a list of every Ace sang song starting at shock me and ending at Dark light it is actually pretty amazing. (even the unmasked songs, which I love and I know you do not). He is by far the strongest writer of all 4 originals in my opinion. He wrote no fillers.

I love the songs on the debut album, but I hate the production. I love the songs AND production (as raw and dirty as it is) on HTH. DTK is the best overall song-wise and production wise. But HTH is my favorite of the first 3. I can still be objective and say that DTK is the best of the original 3. And yes, you do make the best KISS vids, Mr. Modest; haha. You da man, Ralph! Oh, and RUBEN DE LA ROSA! I LOVE THAT GUY! :-)

My least favorite off Destroyer is Sweet Pain, I actually think Great Expectations better

The video for "Thrills in the night" is just a bunch of clips took from Animalize live uncensored video shot live at Cobo Hall for said tour, so Dr. Fukk your not missing out for never seeing the "thrills" video.

Actually, there is a whole group of people who claim the first album is the only good KISS album. Seriously.

Yeah, the first one! It has most of their best songs from that period, it has a very 70's sound, and the least amount of filler crap tunes. Hotter Than Hell sounds so bad, thank God you can hear the three best songs on Alive! And Dressed To Kill is the second best because the filler tunes are pretty damn good.

I would have gotten the ace shirt and Vinnie couldn't save him self much less kiss taking off the makeup off saved kiss

The one point it seems NO ONE will say is....remember after Pete left & everything went on ok Cz we loved kiss? Same with Ace. Nobody cared for a long time we all just were happy kiss wz here. The debate over the makeup? I don't have the time. It's supposed to & IS the Music that matters!!! Yes Paul sounds awful live but I am very happy to get new music from them. Scab Kiss? Please. That's gotten SO fucking old & weak. But! To each his own. The Army used to be united for the love of kiss in ANY form. Its because we are all passionate on both sides. people love ace & peter and hate to see others in their makeup. then people love Tommy and Eric because they are the reason KISS is still around. It does divide. You are 100% right. But it's because of the love of KISS. On both sides.
