This season reminds me of 13/14 when it was a two horse race between Liverpool and City.. with 7 or 8 games to go Liverpool played City away whilst having a 3 point lead and the narrative was 'win this and you win the league' ... Liverpool won the game from a Coutinho goal and went on to lose vs Chelsea and Palace.. City won their remaining games and won the Premier League title. It kinda felt like Liverpool put everything into that one game.. I feel like Arsenal may do the same forgetting that they stilll have Newcastle and Brighton to face

While I understand the reasoning here, there is something you’re neglecting I think: excluding the one against arsenal which could go any way, man city won’t lose against any league team so long that arsenal is still a contender. With Haaland up front, no team could beat man city right now if man city plays like their life depends on it. They could lose to arsenal, but that’s it. So yeah I agree with you on the fact that betting everything on their head to head is risky. But, if arsenal doesn’t win that one, they’re almost guaranteed to not be champions. They should just calm down and believe in themselves while not letting emotion get to their head.

Yeah you’re speaking facts, I’m an Arsenal fan. I have hope we’ll get it done but slipping up these last few games has really taken away breathing room. Because even if we beat City or draw, we still can’t afford to slip. Newcastle away ended our top 4 hopes last season, albeit we’re a different team now. I’d love to say we can win every game after City but it’s just not very likely despite having an ability to go on a run, this is pressure cooker time and like Henry said we can’t get emotional in these moments.

@@diadiecisse3089 I understand, but City still have to play those games. I want City to win but anything can happen. If Arsenal changes their style and go to the Etihad defending deep and playing for a draw they give themselves a better chance of winning the title, in my opinion.

I love henry, he is so class, mature, and professional at what he speaks. And honestly, the world knows how super Arsenal have been this season. But to win the league, you have to keep composed and calm. He is spot on when he says you cannot win league with emotions. Nothing wrong with that but something you must have control over.

If you notice city players rarely blame each other on the pitch if a teammate makes a mistake. They simply get on with it. There’s an emotional maturity that Henry is referring to and this arsenal team is just not there. Although I think in this instance he’s referring to Xhaka

Maybe because they barely lost so a few defeat means nothing for them. Compared to Arsenal, United or even Chelsea, only one loss could destroy the whole season for them. That’s why they are more agitated than City.

I think he just means City have more composure in general, they’re like a machine just getting the job done one game at a time, whilst Arsenal can get sucked into an emotional battle like at Anfield

Reminds me of the final match day last season where city went 2 down to Aston Villa knowing full well that Liverpool were going to win at home. They kept solid composure and produced 3 goals in less than 10 minutes as AV crumbled under the emotion of conceding two goals and that lead to the third.

Thiery is spot on about Arsenal being emotional. And its not just the players, but the coach as well

What I imagine Thierry to mean by “emotion” is related to ‘game management’. Arsenal blitz their way in the beginning and once they’re leading they seem unsure what to do. It caught up with them in the last two games but you could see it happening in the 4-1, 4-2, victories that came last month too…

That is pretty much what he means. You could clearly see the players getting agitated in the second half against West Ham. They could not find a way to maintain some composure. The City players rarely get agitated or frustrated, if they concede they move on play the same way they always do.

I genuinely believe at time this arsenal team are too effective they are like klopps Liverpool on the break and like peps city in slow build ups the only problem is city and Liverpool could mentally maintain it through out the match where as arsenal just kinda lose their purpose when they start winning by more than one goal

They don't let their momentum slip away very easily.

Arsenal are usually composed when they are down a goal this season, but now the pressure is on a new level that these young players cannot even fathom. City have been in these situations time and time. So yea spot on.

Henry just shows why he is one of the greatest of all time. He knows what it takes to win and gives details of what it will be like and what not to go in to.

Thierry is a true man. Take the emotional side out of it and stay the course. He’s forever one of my favourite players of all time.

i love the capability of Henry on expressing his thoughts and emotions. apparently he is a deep thinker & can spot nuances many dont realize. in that regard i think he's like Mourinho. managing senior teams is huge responsibility, yet your success/failure is dependent on many thing apart from you; but at least, in my opinion for sure, he would be a great coach for youth team players

As an Arsenal fan, I can say they have the ability to absolutely blow us away and I think that’s a more likely scenario than most, but I think that the boys will be ready for it all and give it back to City twice as hard. The Arsenal will go to the Etihad, beat the Champions and arguably one of the strongest teams in Europe and we’ll almost have our hands on the league title.

As an arsenal fan, I cannot see us winning at the Etihad. That is not a pessimistic view, it is a reality based of history repeating itself, and the experience of City. However, I can see us maybe getting a draw or a result if luck is on our side. Look at every time Spurs play City, they just are not clinical against Spurs and feel the pressure. I will pray to the heavens on Wednesday! COYG!

I don't think it's about stopping your emotions as much as it is being ok with whatever your emotions are. If you are ok with whatever the result is, then you can remain composed, I think that's what city are so good at.

If we win it then that would be dream land but if we don't, it just means we are not there yet to compete with city and will require a few more signings and experience to do it in the future. One thing that I can see is that city won't be dominating the league like they have done over the last 5 seasons anymore. Next season many of the teams like utd and liverpool will be back to their best.
