After more listening… I really like Hype 10, a lot… I feel like the refinement in treble and better bass quality is worth it, just not at $900 and wish it was under $600. Also there is equally good or better under $700 so… Hype 10 is not worth the buy to me.

I bought the Hype 2 about a month ago, and I have been very happy with it. I bought it after returning my Fatfreq Maestro Mini...the lack of venting caused me to get nauseous.

Oh jeez… ya lack of venting can definitely do that. I find foam tips help when it’s BA but when it’s DD not really…

I love bass but hate that sick feeling that you are describing, so it needs to be balanced to be enjoyable. And by balanced I mean as bassy as it can comfortably be, within reason. Is that what causes that, lack of venting?

@RocketLauncherwithInfiniteAmmo Yeah, lack of venting causes a suction effect with dynamic drivers and planars. It causes a very annoying feeling for me and causes vertigo. It also causes the seal to get stronger over time. If the IEMS move at all, there is air displacement, and you have to reseal them, which causes further nausea. The bigger issue though is driver flex...which eventually will lead to failure.

I've always disliked the steep pricing of putting more drivers into a shell. No way does adding 4 more BAs justify a $500 increase.

I’ve not yet watched this video, because currently listening to music, but planning to watch it later, and decided to comment anyway. This might be addressed in the video, but is there much point thinking of the 10, or should you just jump to the monarch 3 for the extra 100 bucks, or is it a different sound entirely?

I haven’t tried the Monarch, so unfortunately can’t answer that… but that is a really good point!

Hey HT, if you can get your hands on the Yanyin Canon 2, can you review them? I feel like they are the Meteor-mini with albeit lower subbass and less airy w/o that treble spike. Or look another way a refinement to the Dunu Falcon Ultra. I'm curious about your opinion since you like both of these IEMs a lot.

I got the Hype2 cheap and its very similar to my Tea2, except slightly less comfortable. I thought about the Hype4 but ended up getting the CKLVX on your recommendation, couldn't be happier. So much better than the Hype2. Unfortunately I got the Dusk recently and that just beats them all hands down. It a great all rounder and starts to approach the Fatfreq Maestro Minis as my all time favourite (not into kilobuck IEMs, the headphone collection is enough :D )

@@HobbyTalk the Fatfreq IEMs are a basshead's dream without sacrificing anything else. I've had mine a couple of years now and without spending kilobucks, I've not found anything close, though I'd like to try the Meteors.

Love my Hype 4 to bits, so much so I've nicknamed them "The Messiah" and they are my permanent reference set. Really couldn't ask for anything different than this sort of presentation, and at this rate any more or less bass or treble would feel like a step backwards. That said, I do think the CKLVX are okay, but they do sound better with the Spinfit cp145 tips-- opens up the uppermidrange and gives the lower treble more of that crunch and bite the Hype 4 gives me. Because of that I don't think there's any reason for me to get the Sliivo, though I still have a slight itch for something of a sub-$200 copycat of the Hype 4's sound.

Ya, when it comes to upper mids and treble it is insane how much preference changes from one to another. Hype 4 could be end game for a lot. I feel like there is something weird with the upper upper treble, but that’s just my ears. I do love my CKLVX tho… haha ya I hope something like hype 4 can be $200 one day… that’d be awesome!

I absolutely love the Hype 4 and I have a lot of iems both oracles, symphonium meteor, all three Dunu sa6’s, mangird tea 2, xenns up, Vulkan I feel… hype 4 with foam tips is fantastic to me great bang for your buck… although it’s no Meteor ! Ha… as for the hype 10 haven’t heard it yet but I just can’t imagine buying that when you could get the monarch iii for only 100 bucks more….have you heard the OG Oracle … I bet you would love that…that’s a great set!

Like you said, I think it wouldve been more attractive for hype 2 to be around 200, hype 4 to be around 300, and hype 10 to be around 500. There's stiff competition coming out right now from this price range like dusk, dunu davinci, mega5est

I liked the Hype 10 more personally. Liked both… but would rather listen to Hype 10 for its treble.

For us Canadians, that $900 US is like, what, $3,000 😂. Mention of QC issues come up that are kind of off putting. But that Hype 10 faceplate is fine.

It sounds like the Hype 10 would be the most enjoyable for me out of the 3 as well but I don't think it's $900 good. Probably not a set I'll ever buy unless it gets a substantial price cut. How does the Hype 10 compare to the Meteor? Thank you for the quick impressions! 👍

I would not bug Hype 10 at $900… maybe if it was $700… MAYBE… meteor kicks all their asses tho haha. But I will say I like Hype 10 enough to actually want to listen to it. Can’t get over the price tag tho haha
