Concept:
ঠাঁই- Where whispers of comfort find their home, epitomizes the essence of modern urban living with its design idea, which perfectly blends functionality and aesthetics to create a peaceful home oasis.
Having the barrier of a compact site, the challenge was to maximize the use of the site’s available area rather than viewing it as a problem. In order to engender an atmosphere that is dynamic, interactive, and openminded, the space is designed in a versatile fashion utilizing staggering form. The building has a simple façade and elevation treatment made of concrete that presents raw, rustic aesthetics without going overboard with superfluous exterior details or adornment. The floor plan is effectively addressed by utilizing every square inch of this design with meticulous precision, avoiding any unnecessary wastage of space. This will result in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging.
As the site is south-east facing and more susceptible to direct sunlight, it is mitigated by outfitting with innovative shading devices including projected terraces, metal louvres, and roofing to create an appropriate enclosure that lowers solar exposure. Intending to establish a sustainable architectural exemplar, the building is adorned with lush greenery, offering a soothing natural feature effectively helping with cooling the space.
On top of all, with an emphasis on comfort and wellness, every facet of "Shelter" is meant to offer a sanctuary where occupants can find solace from the bustling city outside.
