It’s already parallel. Your hot and neutral are running parallel to each other (the copper stripes). If you need to connect a strip that’s cut separate from another strip, just connect 2 jumper wires, one from the left copper to the left copper on the next strip and the other wire from right copper to right copper. You’d be joining it back as though it had never been cut.

i want to run all my wires out the back, can i daisy chain 3in pieces of 12in wide heat tape vs running the 3inch all the way a cross and letting my wires out the side.

What other crimping tool can you use besides buying the 60$ one provided by the supplier?

You want to get a full rivet set. The tool provides parallel pressure, and uses leveraged pressure to really get it compressed well. You could use other plier types to make the compression, or even a hammer against a hard flat surface. Just be sure you don't affect the integrity of the rivet by breaking it apart, and the wire and eyelet should not move at all when it is properly set.
