Be careful what you wish for. The reason why your country is so beautiful and desirable is exactly due to the laws you have in place. East Africa has conducted an experiment. Tanzania which started from all the way back because it was busy helping to liberate Southern Africa has caught up and surpassed countries that were in cooperation with the West and now find almost half of their land owned by foreigners. No, do not change anything. There is a process for nationalisation that applies to any African who wants to move to Tanzania. That should be the standard for everyone. Ghana opened itself up and now its people cannot afford rent or houses because these people have driven up the prices, with some of them buying land, and renting apartments on it to Ghanaians. You as a Tanzanian can reasonably hope to buy a nice house in Dar, Tanga, Mwanza, Dodoma, Mbeya or anywhere in Tanzania. If you open the flood gates, it will be over. These people do not give a damn about you. Why would they fly all the way from Chicago and bypass Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria etc and come to Dar? It is because they see an opportunity reap off and rape your country. There is no land to buy in Nigeria. The citizens of Lagos are now building slums over the open oceans just to have a place to sleep ( eg Makoko)... No one in Tanzania is homeless. Wanton capitalism is already causing homelessness in the capital of one of your neighbours.. Do not let that happen to Tanzania

These guys coming back to Africa from the Americas, Europe and Asia should create a platform which will enable them to communicate among themselves regardless of their arrival point (country) here in Africa. The platform will gather all the 54 countries the continent has got. The returnee would be welcomed by them. All diasporas should be included in some political issues, but not acting actively. I think they would tell us much better how the western territories behave. In addition to this, whosever gets a scholarship to study overseas or gets a job overseas should pass through this community or organisation to get some piece of advice regarding where he/she is going to. If a Kenyan moves into Tanzania, he will happily follow the law, and when it allows him to be a citizen he will apply. These ones start asking about "property (=land)" even before they get a visa, never mind land in Tanzania. These people are not coming to help anyone but themselves. They have no money, and they have no skills. They want land because they hope to get rich from it. In their country land is impossibly expensive. Others come over, see abundant land, become envious, angry, and start plotting how to game the system. Look, a Tanzanian does not attempt a land grab. If he decides to become a farmer, he gets land and farms. These ones know zero about farming, but they hope to get such land, and then sell it out in pieces or rent it to Tanzanians. There is nothing good in this for Tanzania. A few of them are sincere, and those are the ones who should be assisted to get permanent residency under the current law, and work their way to citizenship from there. Tanzanians wrote that law to protect themselves. But this is the start. West Africa is getting to a point where land is becoming an issue. Part of it is that the countries there tend to be small and have high populations; and they also have enacted horrible policies where they have sold their land to foreigners. These people may also jump on the bandwagon and fly to Tanzania to claim a stake in the country if the government relaxes its vigilant defence of the country
