additional additional context: this show is super self aware of tropes so when they got stuck and Illya/Miyu had to transform to save them they showed the full maho shojo transformation sequence then showed Rin and Luvia almost completely submerged in the muck.

This feels like a jojo villains defeat with the good guys going into detail about how the villain screwed up up and what they did wrong
