They took me off the hill because of my ODR skis
This is the worst nightmare buying a new pair of ODR skis and then they say you can use them on the hill. This is the story of all my interactions with staff till it was resolved. Thankfully it has a happy ending.

Everybody super polite and happy even though their was an issue.Props to the staff for their attitude and well done to the snow blade guy for arguing his case and getting to continue having his fun.
Props to this guy I thought he was gonna have a Karen freak out and verbally assault the top op but the “who do I talk to” is admirable tbh
Props to this guy for being persistent but respectful.
A lot of this is driven by their insurance company and not resort management. Their policy specifies things like metal edges, releasable bindingss, etc.
Good on you to push the issue, but in a very nice and respectful way.
I personally think these ODRs are a f'ing ridiculous concept but credit to you for being incredibly respectful working with the staff to get the go ahead from the ski area.
This reminds me of the discrimination skiers had against snowboarders back in the day
Respect on how you handled it. Perfect demonstration and hopefully you've helped other people at your slope to
Lol this is skibowl. Pat was my old manager in the rental shop. Hilarious that this is going on. Glad it was resolved peacefully.
Dude big congrats on the win to be able to ride elk been my home since I started an love the mountain an meet some awesome friends an made some good memories it’s cool that they let you keep riding I was almost disappointed that elk wouldn’t let ya but that’s great man keep shredding 🤙🏻🤙🏻
I love how you weren’t a total tool. You were very respectful but pushed your side. That’s the most effective way to get your way
Literally same thing happened to me with my eritic snow scoot. It’s a real deal snow scoot metal edges, a cord to keep you hooked on everything. Literally can go down a mountain on it, they just simply don’t want to accept new things are coming to the slopes wether they like it or not. love that little power trip
Definitely a miscommunication and the owner wouldn't want you to go back on the lift lol but right on!
Sounds like at the end the guy on the other end of the walkie talkie was thinking you were on skiblades or skiboards, not Sled Dogs or ODR. He clearly said with releasable bindings, which you do not have. You got away with it, but not legitimately and if they notice they are likely to boot you.
I've been riding at Brighton in Utah, the staff acts blown away but no one acts like it's any issue at all
I used them at Jackson hole and Grand Targhee. It was steep! But they allowed me at both of those locations. As long as they have metal edges, which they do.
I'm so afraid that this happens with me at some mountain, but so far so good.. :D Thanks for this video!
Worked at a ski resort for 2 seasons as a lift operator. If my supervisor told me not to let someone on the lift for trying to have fun. I'd tell them to kick rocks or come operate the lift themselves.
I used and tested snowblades in the late 80s early 90s during the inline skating boom. They were a blast, actually, and you could carve the crap out of them on the groomers.
this is why i love working at the resort i work at, you can bring just about anything on the lift and we dont care, as long as its not a sled, you're good, I see these almost everyday, as well as ski bikes, snow-gos, ski scooters and and skateboard skis, as long as it can be connected to you either by clipping in or by cord, you're good to fuckin go
