I think the main reason why whales leave is it is too much time dependent. As a whale people on your kingdom rely on you. Kvk and events one after the other. Then rinse and repeat. You need to farm, train troops, barbs, forts every time it is available. Whales also have a life in the real world. They started as singles or as a kid but then years pass by they marry, have a wife and kids. Heir to the family businesses. They take responsibilities. I think that is the main reason why whales quit

The way they implemented season of conquest is the main reason so many people quit. crystal tech was an act of greed on liliths part, Resources and speedups are already very difficult to get and crystal tech adds salt to the wound. Lilith does not listen to the community if it does not benefit their pockets, it is because of this, they will lose their player base on all their platforms

I've played rok for a couple of years as mid spender, quit approx 1 and a half year ago.. The game was just so time-demanding and even if one knows it and bothers him, this player doesn't want to quit especially if he/she is a spender, and lose all the progress made.. Players, especially above a certain power, are requested to be active, otherwise you find yourself another kingdom to play in, and that's is somewhat sad.. I understand it, I am a competitive person myself and people like to win, but often times I was thinking: "is this a game? Because it feels like a job", especially during kvk. When I quit, I felt like a drug addict with withdrawal symptoms, it's kind of crazy.. Opening my phone and my finger was automatically clicking on rok icon, only it was not there anymore and I kept opening the excel app for days, freaking muscle memory.. Eventually some weeks passed from the day I've quit, and realized how much time this game was taking from me.. I still watch rok videos on youtube, especially yours, and I don't know why exactly. You are funny guy so I like to watch your content, in other cases I guess it's just a kind of nostalgic feeling that grabs me and makes me want to see how the game evolves, the new shiny commander just added, the new system implemented, and remember the good old days so to speak.. But I don't know, maybe there is a deeper reason.. I rarely put comments on YT, but your question made me smile. Peace 🙏

I stopped playing, but still enjoy you videos. I don't watch all of them, but will still watch some. I left ROK a second time because of the time commitment. Just to much time needed, and doing the same things all the time. Moved on to something more fun, in part because your video on the sunk cost fallacy needed me get off the hamster wheel. Thanks!

Rise of Kingdom is like a stopped journey of COC but the time you spend is much more than COC. Its like COC is a job/work that you really like (so you don't feel much time you spend) while ROK is more like a office worker with a strict boss.

it's a bit grim but for the players you mentioned who stopped playing suddently and without an explanation, maybe they died or suffered something really serious IRL that just made them unable to play anymore. Things like that happen

I remember after the earthquakes in Turkey like 2 years ago. We were in SoC and there were a lot of Turks playing. When the earthquakes hit many accounts went “silent” and many were marked by alliances as “died in earthquake, respect, no attack”. It was very surreal and sad and LK chat was quiet aside from condolences from non Turkey players. I think close to 50 accounts went dark then.

The main reason people are quitting is the amount of time required to play this game. People's situation change and the further we progress, the more time that we need to invest in order to maintain a certain level of performance. The grindy aspect of the game is certainly by design. But they've added things (cough cough the armament system) to make things even more grindier. I think for the most part, the upcoming change to matchmaking (i.e. limiting the amount of players able to enter LK) are a step in the right direction, but not nearly enough. One of the main issues facing the game is the degree to which matchmaking is fragmented. There are so many different kvk pops each with a number of different map choices. The results is that the matchmaking pool is smaller now compared to when kvk first arrived despite there being more kingdoms than ever. The game can easily put everyone in the same pool and then spread out kvk start time so that their servers aren't overburdened. I'll disagree with the new maps. I played and lost in Siege of Orleans. Had fun playing it and do think that it offers the best potential for fighting. They need to rework the auxiliary skill system. Way too much micro needed. Yes, field control rules the day. But that's true ever since they introduced crystal tech. It just takes it to another level. A lot of times, kingdoms just want to explain away their losses. Last thing I wanted to add is that armament system is dog crap. Just designed to make it so that whales are never finished maxing them. Has no benefit to gameplay and nobody likes it. And the thing that everyone hates is that 95% of the armaments are garbage. Giant waste of time sorting through that nonsense.

Man 95%? I wish 1% of them were usable. I am what most would consider a whale (35 maxed legends, 5B KP and 27M dead) and my armaments are terrible. It's such a crap shoot.

I’ve been seriously considering quitting ROK. As a med-low spender, I feel like I am always catching up, every KVK I feel like I make little to no progress to be at a competitive level. Suck but, I feel like I am just throwing money away to feel like I am getting stronger when I am not.😢

So I went from being a very high spender to now completely F2P . When I say high spender I literally maxed out every event , wheel , egg , dig , everything . Every special bundle and all crystaltech bundles . And no matter how much you spend , there’s always people stronger then you .

As long as you have at least vip 14 (3 gh a day ) you can create a strong account , just takes time

Just came back from the game again. I remember when i started the rok. It's called rise of civilization back then. And the only meta commander is YSG and Richard I. Where richard can be acquired in the golden chest. The next time i played again is where kvk is only a rumor with no guarantee that it will happen.

28:18 Quitted the game for several months due to all of what you mentioned, plus, you just have to be lucky getting into a good kd, not in terms of it being strong, but having good ppl, last kingdom I was, there were this troublemakers and nothing would happen to them just because being friends with ppl managing it. I know I lost a lot of progress for not playing, but for the amount of freedom I felt, it was just worthed, plus, I have never put a dollar into it, why? Devs dont deserve it. There are small life quality changes that they can do, yet they dont (there is a difference between wanting to make money and wanting to make ALL of the money, they do the later), like dont make it so ppl leave flags right away when finished being build, give players a chance to get other commanders from expedition other than Ethel once she is expertised, let players pick the ability they want to level up instead of having RNG systems, let gatherers stay on place once finished the rss not, increase the cap of log-in VIP reward on reset (200 points is a joke), If ppl dont want to participate on KvK because they want to take a break, let them opt out, that way no need to migrate or zero that player for being at the top 300 because of power, stop with the trading system when doing Marauders in preparation for kvk, the fact that you need specific drops and repeated ones you have to trade just makes it so you still end up with remnants and cant get to get chests, which leads to waste of AP, then there is the audacity to literally put paying content on the Alliance Moblization event, quests there that gives you a lot of points will ask you to buy bundles / use gems, so shameless. Honestly could go on and on. Anyways, came back, like 2 months ago, wanted to do a couple things, but the game manages to suck you in, the time at which I might take another break will be a big one again. And yeah, RoK picks some of my interest, so whenever I feel like watching a video, I come here rather than going to watch Chisgule, reason? because you are more critical (btw, reporting on leaks is not illegal, Lilith has no right to cry about it and come after you), while Chisgule seems to have less courage, which I dislike a lot because, that leads to players coming to this game thinking the game is ok, for instance, when he talked about armaments being added into the game he didnt called things for what they are, and btw, just to make sure I remembered it right, I went back to his 30 min video, watched the whole thing from begining to end again giving him the chance to mention at any point that that system was not healthy for the game, and well, he did not.

What if they Release like 20 new commanders or a third slot commander for your March to send out instead of a new civilisation with a new epic commander?

What's interesting here is the kd they quit in can't really zero them cause it would be extremely costly and almost empty your kd out, but at the same time their power must really mess with your matchmaking which would cause everyone else to just migrate out. I bet a lot of it is the time commitment. Cause even if you have a great paying job and can afford this stuff, if its not passive income then essentially you also still need to spend a lot of time playing and once they realise its too much of a time commitment they just stop playing. I mean the whale we were fighting that was on 2987 who started kvk 1 with 140mil and ended with half that was having to carry his kd and didn't sleep for over 30 hours otherwise we would be able to push if he wasn't on. He was literally making his health in real life worse just to play the game. We know this cause he streamed it. When 2987 lost he spent his time killing siege in farms till we built a flag under him and removed his city from mid. So he was a whale that literally cared more about the game then his own life. Can only keep that up for so long. Most likely why they zero'd most of their own kd so that they would get an easy B seed win in kvk 2. Either that or worse case scenario and something happened to them in real life we will never know about.

I’ve been playing for a little over 3 years. I quit for about 6 months and came back. Probably a rarity but it’s the group of friends that brought me back. Kvk combat and working in commanders was always the draw for me. Pvp and events were fun at first but have definitely become boring and repetitive. Also as a p2w it’s just to expensive and yes there’s a sunk cost feeling for sure. Not sure how much longer I’ll play for again but when I quit the second time it will definitely be for good. Always enjoy your content

I think of quitting sometimes because of how bad the matchmaking is. As a newer player you have no chance against older players and if you move to an older kingdom to avoid bad match, they shove you into a shell. You cant make it to the main alliance no matter how hard you work on your account

Omniarch.. I have a screenshot from Bunny where the alliance made something funny :) it's actually sad that he did. Bout the players, there could be many many reasons like as you said, hacked/banned/etc. but also might be that they maybe died which would be actually very sad.

@Omniarch really have all heart and mind explaining the game, .....it will be end in couple of years more or it will keep evolving with all up and down who played it? and it better sell the account now or keep playing it??...been playing it for 3 years now with zero money but got all meta expertise with legendary equip due to patient and long term planning....i love the game, still love it but i feel my time i invested to the game should get a pay day or just enjoy it until it dying?

I was on the cusp of becoming King of my server but the stress was too much and I burned out. Kept in contact with a few friends I made back on my first server afterwards and a couple of them either kept playing or came back after quitting and asked if I wanted to join them. So here I am playing again and consuming RoK content on YT.

I like when you make these lines of videos because it makes me stop spending on RoK lol

I mostly agree with you, but the bundles in Infinity Kingdom are not better; in fact, they are even worse. For 1500 gems, you need to spend almost 15 USD, whereas usually for 5 USD, you only get 520 gems. Additionally, there is no way to farm gems in Infinity Kingdom. Although you can obtain gems from daily tasks, there are a lot of free codes available. On average, you can expect 2-3 codes per week, and even 7-8 during festive events. This system supports free-to-play players and low spenders. However, it's important to note that Infinity Kingdom also has its own shortcomings, and the game's community is mostly inactive. The kingdom versus kingdom (KvK) events are not as eventful as in Rise of Kingdoms (RoK). Nevertheless, the community in Infinity Kingdom is flexible and won't drain you like in RoK, where it is common to squeeze players and force a particular playing style on them. Ultimately, regardless of the game, it ends up in the same situation as Rise of Kingdoms, becoming boring and draining money without offering substantial benefits. In the end, it feels like investing in nothing.

It is appalling to me that people still playing this game. It's so time consuming and at some points becoming an addiction. Beside draining your time, it also consumes your money. For people who invest heavily into this game, it's very hard to quit because of guilt of spending that much money into something that you feel like you wasted. I'm glad I quit a long time ago. I am much happier to casually watch YT videos. Otherwise, I prefer spending times with my family, friends and focusing on more substantial things than this game.

I've never thought of these reasons before investing time and money into a game. I'm a free to play ROK player and sometimes I buy $5-$20 bundles to get some gems to spend. Watching whales quit or seeing my entertainment stressful or so much time consuming, makes me wonder if I want to play the game like that. I whaled up hard in land of empires (after downloading due to one of your videos) and when the call of dragons beta came out i decided i didnt have enough time for both. It was a VERY hard decision. Because like you mentioned in this video i felt i had sunk so much time, effort and money into the game i felt obligated to continue. CoD is simply just better IMO (combat mainly) that i made the decision to say goodbye to LoE. But it was a good ride

whale means 10-20k+, not 1-9k lol. You clearly are a normal person and should not spend in these games. It leads to depression and regret in the long run. Trust me

Season 1-3 commanders being worthless almost the second you start in a new kingdom is an issue for me. If you see a huge open field battle, it's always a bunch of people using the same 6-8 commanders because the rest a useless because lillith's greed comes into play, which kills the diversity. Imagine how much fun the game would be if all the commanders still had a use. I begged lillith to make early legendary and epic commanders more relevant. I even mentioned adding king Arthur as a legendary and give him a pairing buff with lancelot with his skills being buffed. Buff kiera who's arrows would make her a great secondary if they had more power expertised. It's getting boring for me using the same commanders to fight the same commanders all the freaking time.

I have not mentioned it but i think King Arthur MGE and then Lancelot Prime would do a ton for the game. I also think they should be leadership commanders and have massive mixed troop buffs for RALLY LEADING. It would do three things at once. Add super famous commanders, giving lots of familiarity to the game potentially bringing in new players, it would rejuvenate the leadership tree and leadership gear and also it would (hopefully if powerful enough) end this garrison fort meta making the game more fast paced and fun.

A lot of those early whales were banned for cheating. We had a 150 million power player pre kvk 1 and he got banned.

@@OmniarchOfficial that;s not the case of this whales that you posted here..a lot of them quit, because the game take so much hours for you to be relevant in combat or helping your alliance and for them to stay that time in a mobile game i think was not worth it! Like boss blake had like 3 accounts over 300M power, he was some rich guy in oil industry from our Murica, i think he lost interest in the game like the others The game is amazing in the beginning but right now it feel irrelevant and boring with no new updates, no new interesting civilization, commanders and new kvk formats plus new good improvements in graphics, lag and so on I quit like 9 months ago after spending 109k $ and selling the account only for like 29k $ ..i gotta admit, i was enjoying the game a lot in the first 3 years from 2018 til 2022..but after the armaments and lack of new content i was fed up and quit this

I can confirm one thing, Nephisto fully moved over to Call of Dragons (though not 100% sure if he still plays that). He had a large whale account in one of the earlier servers

I quite for almost a yr and spent more than i should have. Now upon returning, I've spent more than i should trying to get caught up on the metas. Still feeling too weak.

I have been free to play since 1080 was a new kingdom and kvk wasn’t even a thing… i agree 100% with why you think whales are quitting you are spot on as a ftp this is why i wanna quit too commanders come out wayyy too often i have 1k days logged as ftp and the only march i have that lilith hasnt ruined is my guan and alex (thankfully scipio came out now i can go toe to toe with t5)

Yeah, I was in the beta testing for RoK ( back when it was still called Rise of Civilizations) and there are so many changes that its hard to keep up unless you spend a lot.

I don’t know if you’re up for the task of looking into it… But I have been saying the odds are bogus on many aspects of ROK. Armaments have had their luck turned down. From the eye test even, it’s blatantly obvious Lilith now gives significantly less armaments in your dispatch queue and so much more rss tasks. It’s so frustrating… the greed from Lilith is outrageous and ruining rok

ROK is so time consuming ive been playing for 3 years now and the more you grow the more time you are required by your alliance to be available. If your in a top alliance most will kick and zero you if your just not on all the time. I struggle to quit playing all the time

I've played RoK as a low spender for more than 1600 days, and I'm close to quitting. If I eventually do quit, it would be due to (1) the amount of time required to keep up with the game and (2) the randomness of the armament system. I can tolerate the equipment system, but not the armament system. I don't mind paying some money to eventually gain some things in the game, but paying for something that I may never get is too much of a bad expense.

I wonder how many high spenders use third party services to get their packs? I mean obviously not the well known ones but I wouldn't be surprised if lesser known krakens use third party services. Maybe that's how the players who are able to just walk away see it because they spent less vs the other guy. Idk, interesting thought none the less

I quit this game long time ago and I play again just to checking if anything good happen but it's the same problem very hard to get legendary commander even the gold keys legendary commander very hard to max so I quit again and never come back

Honestly one point of view I don't think you really got into is that just because you quit you don't lose your investment it just maybe depreciates if you ever planned to sell it but those that don't sell it often are attached and don't plan to ever sell their accomplishment and as for why they quit something you didn't cover is maybe they just want to play something else for awhile and sometimes the rok itch doesnt come back. Sometimes they get divorced for spending too much on a game lmao. A big whale once told me he use to collect cars and put tons of money into them and sometimes if he didn't drive one of them for a long time he might decide to sell it and spend the money from it on having fun in Vegas and rok or whatever he felt like at the time.

Nephisto has refunded his accoount. His account is now completely useless. But it was funny how the "honourable" Nephisto proudly tells in the Chisgule video how he gave his account to 2831. So that they can use it. Yes, what a lie. ^^

@@OmniarchOfficial I am just a normal player in 2831. I also only hear what the others have said. But I know that The Nephisto gave his account to his pilots in 2831. Many players wondered why The Nephisto had not bought any more GCs. When Chisgule Video came out, our leaders confirmed that The Nephisto was no longer playing RoK, but that he had given his account to us so that we could use it in battle. That was the initial situatin and also the words of The Nephisto himself in Chisgule Video. But then our leaders and Laxist confirmed that The Nephisto's account had apparently been refunded. Since he has a huge amount of minus gems. Unfortunately, I don't have any screenshots or anything like that. But if you really want proof of this "rumour" you have to ask the KZread content creator Laxist or a R4 - 5 from WoE in KD 2831 (Laxist showed The Nephistos account after KvK 3 on his channel and had access to it). So you can put one and one together. The Nephisto has refunded his account and now has minus gems, so he can't send any troops from his city, which means he can't make any KP and can't lose any power. We had even teleported his city for days in the enemy lines, so that our enemies in KvK 4 can zero him, we would not do that if the account is not useless. ^^ (didn't happen unfortunately) But yeah, if you really want real proof, I'm afraid you'll have to contact the leaders in KD 2831 or ask the youtuber Laxist.

I know I'm right and everyone in 2831 knows it too and also the KDs who were in our KvK 4 because they also asked us why we didn't use The Nephistos account. And the answer was the same. The Nephisto has refunded his account and therefore the account can no longer be used.

People get way too much fomo from this game. If you seriously are worried about how much time you have to dedicate to play rok, just play less, it isn’t that hard lol. Ive more or less spent 100k and still the game required so much rss to fight whole kvk.. which turned me off and quit..now imagine f2p who have 5-10 farms to compete..it's very time consuming..I thought at the start of u spend alot of money u can fight endlessly in kvk but turns out u can't u still need have multiple farm and consume more time..quiting was the best decision I did

Cookie migrated same wave as me into 1556, cookie part of a few high power accounts...cookie, oreo etc, they were useless and inactive during the first kvk they were in 556 and for previous OL season we used these accounts to try help gain power for top 32 seeding but they didn't play, they just vanished but somebody was logging on atleast to join an alliance for OL registration, other than that i never saw them active

Being a gamer my self the reason why they quited because they'd achieve there goal or just got bored and said to them self quote (I'm already strong why do I need to keep playing). That's how people act when they are already strong with out any hard work and patience and determination to play the game they only care about good stuff being strong with out experience at the game. Some just spent millions just to show off to there friend said quote (look I'm at the leader board and have over a billion power on my account) rich people plays this game because this is only easy to get to the top leaderboard not like CSGO, COD, MLBB, League of legends and other more at this game you need years of experience to get to the top and be the best.yeah that's pretty much it they don't wanna play games that took 5 years to be the very best

I still play ROK a ton but i have quit games previously and also spent money on those games. But i still watch the content. Like i was an avid CoD player for years. Got big into streamers like Scump, Tim the Tat man and Pamaj. But the game wasnt fun anymore. And similar to RoK when they release a new game every year and you basically have to start from scratch it just felt overwhwlming. Especially now when its not just a $60 purchase and its also a battle pass plus dlc add ons just to play the full game or feel relevant in PvP.

I think I still watch the videos because i like the content and a part of me hopes there will be something mew and exciting that comes into the game that inspires me to play again. But i also just enjoy supporting content creators who I like and have been respectful to the community and the game itself.

I just stopped logging in 4 days ago mid kvk after 4 years when your only playing because of past investment money or time

Sometimes humans like self inflicted wounds or feel of suffering. Put so much money and lose it, in some cases rewarding. Seems what I write weird but for ppl with high income it happens.

Its not insane you never know what people are going through outside the game. They could died you just never know

actively playing the game alone is already taxing a lot of hours, especially in KVK these people just have more important things to take care of than this menial game.

Has the question not arisen: what happens to these accounts? I mean, obviously, they sit abandoned, but these accounts sit at hundreds of millions of power, doesn’t this affect kingdom matchmaking? And why not give the account to someone else after all of that put into it?

After 30 days of inactivity the game takes those players out of the kd and they no longer have any effect on match making

Been playing the game for 2+ years with the same group of 7 people. Today the last bro quit the game and zeroed himself and now I see this video 😂 I have made up my mind to quit the game as well. If anyone wants to help me evaluate the account I would really appreciate it. Ps love you Omni Thanks for all the help over the years.

I quit like 1 year ago because I'm not enjoying anymore. The mechanics of the game are just dumb, throw a murderball brainless and who has more players in the murderball will win. In plus you have 100% lag. Just swarm an objective like a dumb and gg. The game becomes very dumb in terms of strategy and how mechanics are working. I'm a former player of 1254 and what keeped me in the game, it was just the community.
