As Uruguayan myself I can really assure that this movie breaths Uruguay all over the place. We all grow with the story and it's like a national treasure. I recommend you the book, by Pablo Vierci "La sociedad de la Nieve" which the movie is based at. Vierci is a childhood friend of most of the survivors and they opened their hearts to him to talk about not what they lived up there but How they lived there and the feelings, dilemmas. It's so beautify told and the fact that J. A Bayona found this way to tell the story, giving the voice to the ones that did not come back is amazing. I remember going to the one of Libraries the deceased's mothers created in Punta Gorda hood in Montevideo, when I was at high-school. Some facts about the movie, as you said Nando Parrado has a campeón opening the door at the airport by giving ass to himself and sister and mother. Carlitos Páez, is actually playing his own father reading the survivor's list (a different movie needs to be told about Carlos Páez Vilaró a renamed plastic artist ND writer in Uruguay) who wrote a book: "Entre mi hijo y yo: La Luna" And Roberto Canessa can be seen in a cameo as the doctor who is behind Canessa in the movie at the hospital. In 🇺🇾 we've seen a lot of documentaries, interviews, heard the on the radio, and we all know the survivors' name. So even we have all the spoilers for the movie, it still got me and make me feel emotional and cry,b3cause of how well it's been portrayed. Also the scoring by Michael Giacchino makes you feel immerse in that society.

I'm uruguayan, one of the survivors came to give a talk in my highschool and we could ask him questions, one of the guys in my class asked "what does human meat tastes like?" He responded: "i don't know, we covered in snow so we couldn't feel the taste." Poor guys.

A most unique experience, watching this movie with a native speaker and no subtitles this time. After a dozen and a half viewings, I knew what they were saying, but I enjoyed this very much. You clearly understand them and still responded in English. Thank you! Enjoyed your reaction very much.

La película es un fiel reflejo de lo vivieron estos chicos, Bayona es el rey del realismo. Amé esta película, pero hay que verla mas de una vez porque pudiste perder varios detalles al hablar encima, te lo recomiendo. Gracias por esta reacción la disfrute mucho.

10:30 Actually the "Pancho" that died is not the same one form the begining talking with numa convincing him to go to the trip, that one survived, there was another Pancho and that one was the one who died the first day on impact

That´s right. Pacho Delgado survived. Panchito Abal died during the first night, the next day they discovered that despite his injuries he crawled to cover Susy Parrado and give her warmth during the night.

However, during the church scene, there is a very brief moment when he and Susy look at each other before Nando looks at them both. Nando considered him to be another brother, and in his book, he narrates the he used to chat for hours with his mom while she was cooking and always taking care of Susana. Panchito Abal was rich,popular and handsome, but he was a little bit troubled and sad since his parents were divorced and he lived with his father was too old and business centered. He was the cousin of another passenger, Javier Methol, who was traveling with his wife, Liliana Navarro. Of the people mentioned on this post, only Nando and Javier survived :(

This one and alive crash scene , hands down are the greatest plane crash scenes ive seen they just feel so so raw and not over the top just hearing the sound of the plane and the people is enough to make a scene scary and of course it being based of a true event makes it even more chilling

Tengo entendido que la película Viven! agregó escenas de acción y cambió algunos nombres, por eso ésta se considera más fiel a lo que vivieron. Digamos que esta es una dramatización de los hechos tal y como ellos lo han compartido al mundo.

Hermoso tu video-reacción, veo que eres una persona con un gran corazón. Soy uruguayo y crecí conociendo y amando esta historia que es un ejemplo de superación y del valor increible del espíritu humano. Según mi criterio esta película dirigida por Bayona logró, a diferencia de Alive, captar y transmitir los grandes valores humanos que posibilitaron que al menos 16 pudieran regresar vivos y volver a abrazar a sus seres queridos. Te mando un fuerte abrazo desde mi querido Uruguay

You should look out for the survivors interviews, they are quite interesting.

Some of them stayed 72 days, because the rescue lasted two days!

el hombre que habre la puerta para que pasen la madre y hermana de nando... es el verdadero nando parrado... el hombre que dice los nombres de los sobrevivientes.... es el verdadero carlitos paez... el doctor del hospital es el verdadero roberto... que es medico y estaba verificando la salud de los actores que si el desgaste fisico es 100%real solo falto una persona en salir en pantalla que era el entrenador del equipo... que era el verdadero Gustavo zervino el hombre que se nego a subir sin la maleta... incluso hacen cameos muy pequenos coche inciarte y javier methol

Hablas español? vi que no la viste con subtitulos. Yo mire Alive de los 90a y la peli Survive que era la primera peli de los 70s y mirar esta, it hurt to see the story and it was amazingly done. The survivors said that the worst was not the cannibalism, the worst was the avalanche that hit them

En KZread hay gente de todas partes del mundo haciendo videos en inglés. Una de mis youtubers favoritas es de Vietnam y vive en Alemania. Adivina en qué idioma están sus videos...

Cmo logra entender la pelicula él ? la estaba viendo sin subtítulos en ingles y sin doblaje al ingles, supongo entenderá español.

Quizá no lo notes pero su inglés no es 100% perfecto. Me imagino que habla en inglés por la audiencia. Yo hacía live stream y la banda de habla hispana se acoplaba porque la banda de habla inglesa nomás no da jajaja. Es la solución más fácil.

Acá en KZread hay gente de todas partes del mundo publicando sus videos en inglés y llegando a muchas personas. Por ejemplo, una de mis youtubers favoritas es vietnamita y vive en Alemania. Obvio que habla inglés con acento asiático, y eso es genial.

Don't take this badly, but you need to work on your English and your communication skills. For example, at the beginning, when you're presenting the film, you could use cue cards, out of site, to guide you.

I think the only flaw in the movie is the scene where they debate eating flesh. In all the books about the tragedy and in multiple interviews, the survivors says that the choice of eating flesh was almost natural, like it was the only rational thing to do in that moment, and there was almost no disagreements. In the movie they make it more tense.

I love the movi. Destroy me!!!!!!!!! NUMA
