'They lied to me': Woman on dozens of ADA lawsuits says group left her paying the bills

One of the people named on the hundreds of disability lawsuits that targeted businesses across the Southwest -- including in Colorado -- says the group that orchestrated the suits is leaving her to pay many of the bills of its own operation.

This individual knew exactly what was going on, she was willing to take whatever money came her way... No sympathy for her at all, she is a con artist too, as was that "legal team" of con artists.

so she saw a way to possibly get involved in a bunch of lawsuits and make some free money and it backfired on her now she's a victim? what about the businesses she was helping to defraud? the statement "you can't cheat an honest person" kinda rings true in some circumstances, like this one for instance.

No, she got what she deserved. Offering her $50 for each lawsuit should have been a giant red flag for her. Knowing that company was going to keep every penny they got from the lawsuits filed in her name but she signed on anyway and so did HER attorney. I can’t feel sorry for her now.

As a disabled person with a disabled wife and I spend my professional life fighting for the legitimate rights for people in the U.K., I can say categorically that a scam artist with disabilities is a scam artist. Just because we can't always walk doesn’t mean we can't lie and see a way to make a quick buck. If you're disabled and want to make a difference I'll wager there’s a lawful local charity or genuine organisation that would be more than grateful of your input.

The "clean hands" doctrine should apply here. This doctrine states, simply, that you have no standing to complain unless your hands are "clean," that is, you weren't a participant in the illegal activity. Her hands are certainly NOT clean; she knew very well what the game was and was an active participant in it. Zero sympathy awarded.

The court system isn't going to fall for this crap. They are going to follow the money. All of them are responsible for the losses they created. They are all grown adults', all of them need prison time based on the amount of money extorted from each business. and Every penny needs to be paid back. This idea I'm in a wheel chair and decided to take $50.00 for each court document I signed is a good reason to be in prison. All these lawyers are going to get justice, this game is over!

I do feel bad about her medical condition but zero sympathy for taking the money to hurt businesses she never even visited. I think she should pay back the money - double. I think the lawyers who tried to get the money should pay quadruple for all legal fees and the business using these sleazy lawyers should pay 10 times for each.

The woman and her attorneys are nothing but a bunch of proverbial Ambulance chasers. Also, you mean to tell me she would have patronized any of these placed normally? The answer to that is NO! Therefore these lawsuits are malicious and frivolous. They should all be thrown out of court, the attorneys disbarred and she should be arrested and fined.

Curious about something. I can understand disabled people are pissed about not be able to eat in certain places but I do know some of those people are mad b/c of their circumstances. I've ran into some of those. Now considering if a non-disabled person goes into a restaurant & has a bad meal, can he sue for false advertising? Silly, you bet but I know of restaurant that has a concrete pad with no markings for disabled people parking. If they offload into the gravel around the pad, their chair's stuck. The ramp is barely wide enough for a chair & very steep. I've never seen anyone disabled in there, they simply go somewhere else. It's a choice they can make. Agreed, I don't go to that restaurant anymore b/c it's changed hands & the foods not great but not b/c of the inaccessibility. It's on a riverbank & is occasionally flooded hence the ramp, etc. I've also seen people in those chairs being rude on sidewalks too. I think the ADA needs a wake-up call. These lawyers that are behind this need one too.

You've stated several things and I'm trying to understand your main point. Are you saying that physically disabled people should just avoid going into public places they can't physically access on their own and choose to only go into places that are accessible for those using wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc.?
