I saw a video of a dog scale a 10 ft fence to get to some chickens. Rescaled the fence and carried out 2 chickens in his mouth. I feel for chickens. They’re so vulnerable. God Bless them for their constant sacrifice.
I'm so sorry for your loss! Chicken wire is meant to keep chickens in, not predators out for anyone watching this. Use hardware cloth!
Don’t give up! We went through the same thing. Just had to learn a good lesson from it and do better next time. Stronger wire and you’ll be alright next time around. Praying for y’all to be better soon.
Oh wow! That is so sad. I’ve seen raccoons around our property so this makes me glad our chickens are inside a wooden coop but we use hardware cloth all around the run part. I heard chickens can’t see in the dark so they just sit there and wait to die. So heartbreaking! 😢
That's heartbreaking and I'm so sorry. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. Hang in there and never ever give up.
Raccoons are so ridiculously strong! and wasteful. For those who don't know, chickens don't even put up a fight or make a squawk while they're being massacred like this. Plus, now that they know you have chickens, you will never be rid of raccoons. I'm so sorry, what a shame.

I am so sorry that you lost all of your chickens! We have been going through that since we moved to Alabama. We have closed everything up that we can! Prayers for you all!
I'm so so sorry 😞 we had this happen recently too 😢 it was heartbreaking. This is why we just picked up 2 male anatolian shepherds to protect our animals.
😢 So sad .. we have the same situation. 8 our chickens are killed by squirrels 2 weeks ago. I started 7 new chicks and make the coop better by doubling the wire inside. Hopefully will keep out predators away and leave them alone. Don’t give up😊
I’m so sorry, it’s heartbreaking, I just lost my rooster to a predator. Don’t give up ! Know we feel your pain ….💔
Raccoons seem to use chicken wire for dental floss.

Good to know
My heart goes out to you and the family. Its a hard loss, don't give up . God Bless 🙌
So sorry that happened. Just lost one of my layers to a hawk right outside my window. By the time I got outside they had flown off and left me with a mutilated bird. You could always cook the chickens like I've seen Justin Rhodes do and try feeding them to your other pigs. He boils them whole in a pot and adds it to his scraps and feed. Don't give up, you've come so far. 😊
So sorry for your loss, hopefully 🙏 it will get better. I will pray for you and your family 👪 and stock.
Dont quit yall, you got a good thing going!! I had to replace my chickens after a bear ate all of them , and now i learned to have electric fencing and more. you gotta move forward .I now have twice as many chickens and no preditors.
I lost 12 in one night about a month ago, and this morning I lost my last 4 layers. I feel your pain, sorry for the loss. Keep up the good work though!

Oh Beverly I am so so sorry! That’s horrible. 🙁
Same thing happened to us. It was a bobcat. Ripped the chicken wire apart. It also took out our 4 ducks at the same time.
That sucks. We’ve dealt with hawks and coyotes, but nothing like that. Sorry man. There are blinking lights that look like eyes that are good for keeping predators away and of course electric wire. Don’t let it discourage you; your channel rocks!
Ugh so sorry! It happens to all if us at some point. The important thing us you learn something from it and move forward
1 x 2 or 2 x 4 welded wire we have foxes so imperative to not use chicken wire
Damn.....I'm so sorry for your Loss Beau...
Most of us farmers have been there! Don't quit you can get back into it! It's a heartbreak for any good farmer.
This is so heartbreaking, I’m so sorry this happened. Stay strong.
Sorry guys. Not a good day. I thought I was the only one that this happens to. Chickens and rabbits both. A year after my rabbits were killed, a neighbour I had traded with numerous times decided to get out of the rabbit business. She had purchased babies before all my adults died. When I bought her stock, I could see the likeness of all the bunnies I had lost. I was humbly grateful to God. Give Him your shocking experience guys. Ty 🙏

The wild animals sometimes do a better job at hunting then we do protecting our animals. Bought a Portable solar fencer at the farm store. We deployed the fencer and soon heard whelps at different times of day. Apparently, the word got around and the animals are okay. We still hear coyotes, raccoons, possums and see stray dogs but the compound is secured. Best wishes.
SOS for the loss hope it gets better
Hardware cloth! And if they are reaching under like happened to me we put a skirting of hardware cloth all around my chicken tractor. Stopped it!!! Raccoons in Texas are insane especially this year!
So sorry, we commiserate with you, being those who have lost dear chickens.

I've wanted to quit...many days...but my dad didn't raise a quitter. So I ask the Good Lord to help me, one day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time, till He calls me home.
Trail cam and .22 for next time… sorry for your loss. 😢
Chicken wire is like a lock on your coop. It keeps the chickens in, it won’t keep predators out. We had a cougar get through hog panels. Stay safe until you find out what got them.

I can't imagine the power it took to get through that😳. Frightening
Been there!! Chicken wire is not the way. That wire you put under the bunnies may do well though. It looked pretty robust. We are in IA...lots of raccoons...so you have to seal the roof too. Our "chicken wire" is a combo of chicken wire or the 1/2" x 1/2" mesh wire to keep little paws from grabbing wings/legs through the wall and underneath that we use 1"x4" rectangle fence for strength. It's marketed as utility/Goat fence up here. Hugs & good luck guys!
So sorry for your loss....please don't give up.
That's so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry 😞
Can relate. Woke up to a small dog in my chicken run that tore through the wire.
We had 3 attacks this year (rat and fox). No matter what I did they still found a way into the barn. So sorry it happened to you. Xx
Sorry for your loss. Raccoons are mean! They killed 30 of mine. Don't give up.
I use heavy gauge hardware cloth, 1/2 inch mesh
I am so sorry , don’t give up

Dude!! I feel for you, that is absolutely devistating! Mink? Weasel?
I'm so sorry 😞. It's devastating when this happens, it recently happened to my mums chickens, her dog usually protects the chickens but he was inside dew to noisy nabours stirring him up and (we think it was a fox) got in n killed all of them 😢 😞
I love my chickens. So sorry this happened!
Sooo sorry. I can't imagine. But thanks for the heads up about the wire.
Lesson learned. At least you've shared your lesson to your viewers. Don't give up!
Sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss.
Chicken wire only keeps chickens in. Won't protect from predators. Sorry that this happened, but don't give up.
I'm so sorry! I am rural but in town. I just ran into a raccoon in my back yard late into the evening. Now the dogs are staying outside at night with ours. I'm going to be setting up traps.
Aww man that really sucks, I feel sorry for you guys.
Dude I'm so sorry. Don't give up😢
So sorry to hear about that.
We are sorry for your losses…it has it’s bad days and good ones. 😪
Sorry to hear/see this. Hang in there....
I’m so sorry. This happened to us once. So hard to take. Hang in there.
Chicken wire is meant to keep chickens in not predators out. Go with heavier gauge hardware cloth
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I've had chickens for years and my greatest predator has been neighborhood dogs. I have real single hung vinyl windows in my coop and a predator tore through the screen. Luckily I had the window closed at that time. Lesson learned. We promptly installed 1/4" hardware cloth over the outside of the windows, stapled like crazy to the wood window frame. Now I'm going to knock on some wood b/c I feel like I've hexed myself.
Sorry about that. God bless!
Dang! I'm so sorry for such a great loss! I know the feeling, except we caught the culprit, who was supposed to be a guard dog, but she was nursing and we waited ours longer than usual to do our daily checkup... We lost all but like 25 of our prized layers! Anyways, she can't stay here now and it was so close to winter all the hens that are left decided they're done till spring, we get 3 eggs a day now! Don't give up! It happens even to the best! There's always surprises in life and sometimes there good.... But sometimes you get this! Stay strong and keep moving, God gives us all the grace to get through everything he takes us through, even though it's not easy it is possible! Who knows, this event might lead you to something incredible!!
Sickening.....gutted for you....hardware cloth only way to go....
Wow, this is awful. I’m so sorry for y’all. We’ve had some losses but never anything like that. 😢😔
bummer!! sorry to see this. next time will be better. adapt and overcome.
I'm sorry you went through this.
Keep your head up... We don't quit...
Some days really suck! I feel for your loss of livestock. Take some time to look at where you have come from and remember your goals. I like what Justin Rhodes said after one of their losses, the more successes you have the higher the chance of a failure. It can be hard to take sometimes but remember all your successes. Big hugs to you all.

Sir I’m so sorry for this. I understand you completely when you feel defeated you just want to quit it all. But don’t give up. I myself I’m starting my own farm not knowing even 5 percent of all the work that’s headed my way, but It’s something I want my children to carry on so I wish you and your family the best.

I have a Great Pyrenees that keeps everything away and us up all night.. lol
Had a racoon do about the same damage a year ago. Don't quit use heaver wire fencing chicken wire is to light of wire.
We’ve had dogs bust through chicken wire and killed all our chickens one year
so sorry about your hens..idk how long aga this happened ,but either way that is tough.
Hi..... Better Life Together so sad to hear that preadetor had ate all your chicken so don't give up, keep it up and keep going, thank you for showing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🎥👍👍👍
So sorry this happened.
Devastating indeed BUT march on to Better together Life❤️🥲🥲🥲
I'm so sorry you suffered this loss. A few years ago I had a large male skunk tear thru the same type chicken wire and kill a mess if ducklings. Unbelievable to see that happen. I never thought a skunk would do that and get through chicken wire.

Aloha 👋🏼 for Hawaiʻi! 🌺🏖🐬
I am so sorry this happened to you.
Oh my. How traumatizing. 😢 I'm so very sorry.
Wow, that sucks sorry buddy. I knew about not having chicken wire on the lower part but I wouldn’t of thought they would get in that way. Sorry for your loss, that stings.
I am so sorry that happened! Always use hardware mesh, 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch... not chicken wire. That looks devastating.. I am sorry.
I run thick wire behind chicken wire
Maybe you can salvage a couple to eat. It was cool enough that night.
That's heartbreaking....😢
I feel really bad for you. I have been through this a couple times. Raccoons are the worst animals for killing chickens. Don't give up get yourself electric netting for fencing then get stronger wire. Keep going.
Very sad I'm sorry this happened to you
Poultry wire is great at keeping poultry "in," but does little to keep anything else "out." Hard lesson to learn. Sorry for your loss.
I've read reports that raccoons can do that. Try thick hardware cloth instead
Never ever use chicken wire. Always use hardware cloth for chickens. Sorry for your loss! It’s so sad when this happens.
So sorry for the loss. We lost 100 of our chicken to our own German sheperd dog. It was like a massacre and so heart breaking to see. I'm so weak heart and so heart broken for these animal lives. We stop raising chickens for a year now and thinking about restarting again.
Bro... I'm so sorry
Man that sucks. That hole was quite large too. Did it eat anything or just kill them all?
Oh no. We have been in this EXACT position. A few days before process. The frustration! We have never used chicken wire since.

Wow! That’s so upsetting. I’m sorry! Thank you for sharing. We are fortifying before our meat birds go out.-kelly
Oh no! I’m so sorry.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Just know you took good care of the chickens, so they had a good home while living. Things happen that are beyond our control, and it’s never easy when going through it. I know you will move forward, and you will remember the lessons learned. Who knows what predator it was, but it was certainly very smart and calculating. As others have said, next time use a heavy gaged wire throughout, and make sure nothing can reach through to grab your animals. That was past hungry what the predator did. It was just a lust to destroy their lives. Not much good can be said for that creature. I’m not surprised that the pigs didn’t want any of the chicken. Bad energy from something like that and pigs are smart. Maybe burn the remains, and bury them. Then maybe plant a tree on top where you bury them. The tree will process that negativity into something beautiful, good, and peaceful. Move forward and try again. Each step is a learning process. When I grew up we lived near a farmer who kept having trouble with foxes, coyotes, and any predator out there. They attacked his small animals and his cattle, especially at calving time. He finally got a flock of peacocks, and began to keep them and raise them as well, let them roam his farm where he needed it guarded. At night when the predators usually attack the peacocks could be heard sounding the alarm for miles around that a predator was near. It woke most people who could hear them. The farmer would go out and take care of the predator and saving his animals most of the time. It got to where few predators came around his farm, and the birds could be heard softly calling out into the night. On those peaceful nights it was beautiful to hear. They are a good bird to have. Those and Guinea’s. Guinea birds are good in the garden area. They eat harmful insects, and sound the alarm when something enters to eat the produce. Perhaps you may consider them and peacocks for your farm. I wish you the best. God bless.
I need help! My root veggie s are soft after just picking them yesterday from my yard. Is this normal? Can u help? I googled but its not very helpful.
We lost our chickens too. I think it was a bobcat. I ate the insides, took heads off, and left them in a pile. They took one for the road. What makes it worst we had two chickens roosting on our bikes in the garage, they never did that before. I moved them into the pen to their deaths. They must have felt the presence of danger. I tore the whole pen down and now rebuilding. I am getting a game camera with my 22 on standby.
Y’all! I’m so sorry! This is the worst! We had a mink that wiped out our Muscovy ducks like this recently. But the only reason it happened was that the guardian dogs were pastured elsewhere. Foolish on my part. They have saved us so much heartache and money. ❤️
omgsh im so sorry!
you have to make traps i had 11 wild stray cats killing my quail even though i had a good cage they still would get one here or there pull the head off them all my cages now are the thick wire... in the end i had breading pairs in 7 separate cages and something went into each cage and killed them all . i think it was one of them little ferret looking things all white with a black tip tail. overbuild everything and lock or screw everything down
So sorry 😞 😔 😟
