I had a fat Jehovah's witness keep coming back after being told not to. I was a teen and she would come when my mom was not their... She tried the let me show you in the bible trick read 2 verses and then switch to the watchtower magazine.. my grandmother was a southern baptist Sunday school teacher😂😂 She was not prepared. And I said you did not read the complete chapter which cuts off the actual meaning. Nor do I follow anything of of a magazine, She got mad.. So I pull out the last magazine they gave me.... Because I know they are not allowed to read them after a new one is made..😂 Nothing worse than a bad salesperson😂 I told her my mom said not to come back. And she should not speak to the other kids without their parents permission.. She didn't like how calm I was, and said you need to listen to her. I said, my mom said otherwise. Have a nice day.. Next time I was not in the mood.. So I went out the back door, and let the dog loose.. Big gurl could run...😂😂

I never quite understood this. I'm curious how often they actually manage to get a sale from someone who went through the trouble of putting up a no soliciting sign. Even if you are selling something I want, I already don't like you because you ignored the sign.

I had the same sign on my door back in the 1980s they paid no attention to the sign. I answered my door and told them I'm not interested and started to close my door the asswipe put his foot in the doorway to stop me from closing my door. Back then I kept my gun next to the door where I sat when I picked up my gun he very quickly pulled his foot from my doorway.

Apparently, it's also missing the sign "NO STUPIDITY".

My door sign reads: "I don't want to buy anything or hear about your promotions or religious beliefs. I will vote against anyone you are here to promote. Only knock if I know you and you called first". They still knock, but not as much.

Never spell anything out in detail, as a salesman will always say 'it doesn't mention what I'm selling'. Just put NO door to door sales or surveys AT ALL, this means YOU. Then there can be no argument.

Unless it's someone I know, I *_never_* answer the door, even with my doorbell camera, and even if it's the cops. Fortunately some years ago our city passed a "No Solicitations" policy. You can add your address to be on the list which solicitors are required to obtain and obey prior to canvassing a neighborhood. Violators can be fined. With only two exceptions in the past several years this eliminated solicitors from ringing my bell. I also think this is a great way to deter criminals from casing your home up close and personal.

For anyone who doesn't know, "No soliciting" signs are legally enforceable. A solicitor that solicits on a property with a clearly visible "No Soliciting" sign can be reported to local authorities for trespassing, and if you take them to court, they'll get charged with that.

Not true. The only way that can be enforced is if the homeowner verbally trespasses them (a sign isn’t enough). Again, soliciting is protected free speech under the first amendment, and is therefore not illegal, and can’t be illegal because of that reason.

This isn't true but some towns and country's have no solicitors ordinance so they can just call the cops the cops will track you down and trespass you. The "no trespassing" is enforceable as in you can hold someone there till the cops arrive to trespass them. Or you can call the cops on them and trespass them even after they left. I wouldn't go past a no trespassing sign. No solicitors the fist page on Google says it's not a legal sign.

There's no way you could know that. Soliciting laws are enforced at the local level. By the town or City. The town you live in may have strict laws against solicitation, and the town over might have none.

Maybe she is rude because she get knocks on the door all day long. No means no. I have a no soliciting sign on my door and people just ignore it. On top of that you don’t know who these people are. They could be up to no good.

I had some of these solicitors from ATT come to my door about 2 years ago . I told them over and over. I was not interest but they were persistent and stepped up on my porch toward me, until my daughter in law walked out the door with 2 pistols holstered on her hips , both unsnapped and hands at the ready to draw on him . She told him to leave or else..... He stepped off my porch slowly and walked backwards down my driveway. I have never had one from ATT or anyone else since . Yes, I did call ATT to report it and they said that they had no one in the area and they don't work that way. They wait until you call them and then ask if they can check for any promotions or discounts you have available or leave you a message on your account page about any promos.

There are little door sales here, but I remember one incident with a particular annoying electric power sales dude at the mall. He was pestering me even if I said that I am not interested. He tried the second time when I was leaving. I told him : Go home and flush out your ears! I told that I am not interested 15 minutes ago! I guess he tried to impress the girl who was his partner or something.

M M. She can be anyway she wants on her own property. It wasn't a mistake. Many ignore the signs. Many people get tired of it. I'm beginning to think some that come to the door can't read. Glad I have a career that pays well and don't have to walk in the cold door to door dealing with people like that. Next to Amazon I only allow pizza delivery on my terms and tip them well. Solicitors not allowed.

Clearer text for a no soliciting sign: "I care about the environment, I'm voting [insert political party here], and I already know how to find [insert religious figure here]. Now unless I come to the door, go away."

I used to be a Door to Door canvasser and my employers told me that "No Canvassers" meant "No Canvassers" and that if I knocked on such a door and the homeowner complained, I'd be in trouble!

I live off grid. You need 4 wheel drive to get here, then you have to get pass my dogs. I really don't have a problem. If one should show up I have no trespassing sign. Where I live people know we answer with a gun.

I have a no soliciting sign outside my front door. Apparently people can't read or don't understand what that word means -super frustrating!

if the sign simply said "no soliciting", would that cover "everything"? It blows my mind that some people need there hand held and to have everything spelled out for them.

Yeah this was more of a "I'm-just-going-thru-the-motions-of-my-job" kind of thing. No one seems to care about giving good service anymore 😔

I once worked for a community outreach organization, ultimately wanting money from the community, and I once asked, "What about doors with signs with 'no solicitation?' Should we just walk on? I was told, 'no. It's not solicitation, you are informing of a service and it's their choice if they want to give money or not.' I thought that was sort of a jedi mind trickdistortion of words as the social understanding of 'no solicitation' signs imply a polite way of saying, 'please don't knock of my door.' I wouldn't be surprised if ATT tells their employees the same thing.

Yeah, I got sick of it. Can’t read then you get the finale solution. Word got around that a grouchy pit would chase you from my house. Truth be told, doesn’t matter how out of shape you are, people can run! Haven’t had an issue in two years now.

I get them all the time, i just put up the sign today to hope to stop this as they came to myself 5 times this year after i told them each time i am not interested in switching my internet as i use a cable provider that cannot match att speed in my area. I told them to stop coming to my home. They still keep doing it so i finally put a sign up. It will be a matter of time before I see if it works or not. If not then I will just call the police and make a report and then get the police report number then call ATT themself and let them know I filed a police report and here is the number and next time one of their guys knocks on my door I will call in for trespassing. I also get the solar guys that bug us too. I also have the no soliciting signs as well both on my mail box next to my door and a bigger sign next to my door bell.

Absolutely, they want to see who opened door, if an elderly person or handicapped or someone who would have a hard time defending them self. Not saying elderly don't have weapons or firearms but, at night selling whatever and seeing what happens first encounter is what criminals plan for future attack/ robbery/ home invasion. Yea, I've seen similar and opened door with a see through security door, although I had my revolver visible in my belt/ waist band with my trigger hand on hand grip. Told them I'm not interested and they apologized and left fast.

It’s actually quite common to see sales people work late at night considering it’s a time where most people are going to be home, and also since door to door sales is a full time job, which means that they work 8 hours a day (actually, a lot of them even work 10 hours a day).

My sign reads *"All conversations cost $80 per minute (or part there of)."*

These door bells are great. You dont have to answer anyone you dont want at your door. Plus you know who was there

I finally had to make my own sign because no soliciting wasn't enough of a hint Mine says No sales No services No soliciting NO EXCEPTIONS Works pretty good so far

I got a half pit bull, half German Shepard, all white, scar faced and hate filled to the core kinda dog; no one dares to approach me about him because he's trained to attack. No calling him off, no picking who he attacks, just attack. That's it. If my dog bites you, you probably had it coming (or you're a kid who tried to pet the most infamous dog within a half mile) or he's just having a bad day; either way I can't call him off (AT ALL, not lying), I just wait until he takes a shit and mail the wedding band to the widow with an apology (close enough to the truth). I'm sorry my dog tore the door off of the animal control truck to eat your husband so I even used soap to clean your ex-husband's ring. To date, he has destroyed three plastic front ends, seven plastic rear ends, a car window from the inside, two car windows from the outside, half dozen house windows, two glass doors and a baby stroller some teenagers had an egg inside of... Nearly blew his head off with my shotgun until the little bastards screamed about their grades [and yes, I'd kill him in an instant because, as I stated before, he won't stop attacking something until he and/or his victim(s) are dead or outta his nieghborhood].

Those people were being pretty rude, it almost sounded like the lady was trying to quietly yap insultingly until they both realized they were either being recorded or being watched! You have every right to speak the way you did. They were trying to be smart-asses towards the end, too. Pffft, hahaha.

I have AT&T and I can't even get signal near the local high school, downtown, and I get two bars at my house. Their services, much like Directv, go out every time the wind blows, while my broadband ISP's services just go and go and go, until it's so damn bad outside that they have to shut the towers down for repair.

Yes! Their internet service is horrible! It’s because they only have DSL internet! I have them because it’s the only cell phone company that I can get signal with in my home. I get 1 bar with T-Mobil and ZERO bars with Sprint and Verizon!

In my area they charge double what comcast does AND they don't even get close to the speeds comcast offers. I can get 250Mbps for $65 through Comcast or 35Mbps for $65 through ATT.

You can tell those two are best friends. They walked up to the door joyful and giddy and left the same way. I bet she punched him on his arm and said, "Bisshhh, you told her!" and his response was, "Gurrl, you know I did." And then processed to burst out into laughter as they make their way to the next door.

I lived in rural Oregon. Driveway 1000ft long. I put a barricade across bottom of drive. People would actually park there, climb over barricade and walk to my door. There was a no solicitation sign on barrier. They never give up

They don't actually work for AT&T, they work for a 3rd party that has a contract with AT&T and they are ALL over the country.

So we had to post a sign that was basically in their face in drive thue saying “No sodas! Sorry pump out of order!” Well guess how many still wanted their coke or DrPeper. 😒 I even had to tell a guy it was out. He asked for a coke. I apologize and told him it was out of order. You know what he said? “Ohhh....okkk...I’ll take a Drpeper then!” 😓😔😞 (face palms)

Use to have a No Soliciting sign up after we had a ton of them and religious people showing up day after day. After two weeks of them not getting the point I changed it to "Solicitors will be shot, survivors shot again". Apparently one set of Mormons who had already been around once to my place decided to come back, so I answered the door with a 12 gauge shotgun in hand, cocked it and raised a brow "Can I help you gentlemen?" they turned white as a ghost as they backed up and profusely apologized saying they must have gotten the wrong address and all but ran off the property. That’s why I always answer the door gun in hand, I point the gun at the person while keeping it behind the door.

I wish that there would be a list of no soliciation houses. Any company breaking the law has to pay $5 000 towards the upkeep of the list. I wonder how long it would take for companies to stop. We need better laws for things like this.It's not acceptable

I know we have to put food on the table and every job is worthy... except this one! I just could not knock on people,s doors trying to sell something... and expect to be still breathing at the end of the day!!! Respect to all the genuine door to doors out there trying to make a living .... but please do not ignore the signs... No usually means no!!!!

A few months back at night around 8pm,some Mexican guy was trying to solicit something Idk,but as my mom made sure the metal screen door was locked he thought my mom was opening it and he reached for the handle as if getting ready to force the door open,and I went around the side gate only to see him and 2 other individuals hidden from view of the metal screen door,I think they were going to do a home invasion on us

I have a door bell like this. I just don't answer if I don't know who they are. If I see its just a sales rep, or a JW, i let them stand out there.

The problem with this is, sometimes burglars will pretend to be a sales rep or JW and break in if no one answers. Also there have been a few occasions where someone who looks like a sales rep actually isn't and isn't soliciting (there's a utility pole in my back yard so sometimes at&t, comcast etc. needs to do something on it; they usually let me know so that I can keep my dogs and kids away).

I also have a car now so I’m home everyday but when I start to go to work and home again most of the day when they these type of people come knocking my door and see my car in the driveway don’t expect me to open the door because I don’t have time and not interested what they sell.

Our neighbor gets solicitors all the time even though there is a sign an they always come at late hours. Once we had one at 9pm. It’s gets annoying and some of them are rude as heck when you tell them your not interested

No soliciting means they do not want to be sold ANYTHING. Meaning they don't want to be bothered unless it's an emergency or they know you personally.

It is literally the title of the video. And also on the sign. I'm not the one being bad at logic and English. (Your example isn't even logical, the logical thing to do in that circumstance would be to put up a sign that says "cash only".) Why did he read off a list? I guess because he's apparently as stupid as you and thinks "no exceptions" means "yes there are exceptions".

I never denied that. I said it would be more logical to say "cash only". And I said that "no payment except cash" isn't similar to what's going on here. I don't have a list of exceptions. You are the first person ever, in the over two years that this video has been up, to interpret things that way. Honestly, it's spectacularly stupid. I get it, you think I'm socially inept. I read and understood it the first time. Even though you can't correctly read a title and understand what's going on in the video, you somehow know my whole life story from ~10 seconds of hearing me talk. The guy in the video thought (or pretended to think) that it was a list of the ONLY things that are NOT allowed. You are the first to interpret it as a list of exceptions. No other comment says it's a list of exceptions. If you think they did, you're misunderstanding the comments. What it is, is a few examples of things that are not allowed (the point being, some people make these exceptions, but I'm making it clear that I do not). The sign uses the universal sign for "no", a red circle with a line through it. Here's pictures: imgur.com/a/tg5O3 So, the signs mean "no solicitation". They also mean "no soliciting", and "no exceptions" to the no soliciting. They also mean "no politics, no magazines, no candy, and no religion". Additional "no"s do not cancel out any other no, they ADD to them. Now if it said "no solicitation, no exceptions... except candy" then candy would be allowed. But it says "no solicitation, no exceptions, no candy" which means there are no exceptions NOT EVEN candy. EVERYONE ELSE, other than these people in the video, have understood (because my camera often catches people reading the signs and turning around); and I'm thinking even this guy understood, and he was being a smartass by pretending to not understand.

I had a mean ass old African goose that lived in my yard and i didn't even need a 'No Soliciting' sign. One of them cameras would have been great for recoding videos of them getting attacked by his angry ass.

I had an insurance salesman once tell me, we are not solicitating, we are "educating" the public so they understand how much they really need insurance?!? Wtf!

I have a no solicitation sticker on my door but, 2 Mormons said it didn't include them because they weren't selling anything. When I asked them for their door to door license they have to purchase from the city, they showed me some card the church had given them to show. Then they acted like they didn't know anything about it. I could have called the cops but told them they needed that license, sorry I wasn't interested and for them to be safe.

My grandma was having Jehovah's Witnesses (or Mormons, or both) coming to her house often, so she taped a sign on her door that read "This is a Catholic home. We don't accept propaganda from other religions." Never saw them again. :)

Unfortunately people who do door to door solicitations are usually independent contractors. Which means that they get paid by the company, but don't actually represent the company. This way, they can act this way, and not make the company look bad, because "Well, they don't work for us...we're sorry they bugged you, but we can't do anything about it."

So, these guys are actually from a third party company called Cydcor. AT&T uses them for their door to door campaigns. Cydcor doesn't pay salary or hourly, it's a commission only job. This environment makes the field reps super aggressive. If there is any hole in your non-solicitation notice at all, they go for it. If they don't, they won't make their money. AT&T has nothing to do with it.

Seemed so likable in the beginning but then they made those nasty comments. I hate door-to-door salespeople and I know they probably deal with angry people all day but if they don't know how to act with the public which is never gonna be a good time, then they need to work away from the public. They can't be mad every time someone is rude to them.

I like that they took it with a smile though. My Ring doorbell helps a bunch.

Lmao Sales is the worlds highest paid skill. I’ve Been knocking doors for over 6 years. I chose to drop out of college for sales, I learned more about life and business and human psychology through sales more than school could ever teach.
