They may have to earn that title LATER, but they are called that IMMEDIATELY. If a Marine Corps' recruit does not Graduate boot camp, he or she will NEVER be called a Marine--EVER. You can also lose that title, and NO Marine will ever be allowed to speak your name again. Soldiers.. not so much. HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE difference.

IF you lose your title, S-1 goes through your SRB and blacks out EVERY instance of the title "Marine'... and your records are NOT kept with the Marine repository, but are sent to the NAVY and placed with them. Does the Army have anything like that??? NO... they don't. You are really very clueless.
