Probably very few, cheaters don't tend to play the game all the time, and I'm pretty sure the only people banned falsely had played immediately after the update but before valve's hotfix. I got banned on an alt account because I played on that account immediately after the update, but the account I played on only the next day was not banned. By the time I noticed the false ban on my alt, it was only about 20-30 minutes of waiting before Valve did the rollback.

If people looked at it instead of AI, wouldn't of been an issue in the first place.

As much as people hate Valorant for the somewhat "invasive" anti-cheat method of Vanguard, I gotta admit, seeing what is happening to CS makes me think that in the end, hardware based anti-cheat systems are just going to get more and more necessary. I hope Valve will make the right decisions they need to make to fix these issues.

Yeah but the problem is that these anti cheats are Windows only. Valve would not want that with the Steam Deck as it's running Linux.

@@spheality Yeah it is not yet in cs2. Maybe they are scared flick stick will cause these high dpi bans as well. Controller support was ok with csgo. You had gyro and flick stick to work with.

It will probably never happen. not only they're trying to distance themselves from Windows/Microsoft (in case, they try to pull an Apple) but also they believe in privacy, and having a Kernel level AC on the same level as Valorant would go against it

@@EugeneSoong DOTA is really the only Valve title that gets unconditional praise. Every other title is simply ignored only to return as some revolutionary product. If there's no new piece of tech to show off, they abandon the title. It's why TF2 and most single player Valve titles were abandoned and why CSGO was ignored for most of its lifespan with the exception being Half Life to show off their Valve Index.

Consider Valve to be like an ostrich, head in the sand. Only when the wallet gets riffled they'll pop their heads out. And not just Counter Strike, you might as well just include TF2 in that, where cheaters can go ahaid since the game still brings in money so why should they bother then.

Don't know if anyone remembers but there was a conversation about the whole high DPI thing back in the CSGO subreddit. It was when spinbotters were very rampant in the game and the original thread was asking about how easy would it be to code in detecting spinbotters. People mentioned high DPI and shaking your mouse around but the gist of it was to just not do it at all as it serves no purpose to in the game.

Valve will have to bring out an Antioverwatch system. The people at first get banned and then you can see footage of the ban reason(s), where you as a human decide whether he is trolling/cheating or just having a bad game

@@neo_child I know. This is why I called it "Antioverwatch" and not Overwatch. In CSGO you were able to judge footage of a suspect and with your vote he might have get banned. Now, for cs2, it would be great if you can do it the other way around. You are getting footage of a player that already got banned but your votes decide if he stays banned.

Love all your vids, but this one was particularly well done in terms of integrating the data and interviews with the storyline. Thank you! Everday I consider rolling over to Bellevue and going on a hunger strike in front of Valve HQ until we get a working AC. Perhaps with the Riot/Apple lawsuit verdict yesterday, Valve will actually have to engage in normal market analysis and competition since they likely will no longer rely on their Steam monopoly to fund their mediocracy as a game publisher.

cs2 release is a complete joke, I don't understand how everyone is so kind with Valve and so hopeful. We are talking about a multi billion company that can get away with not updating a game for ages and still being successful. I've been playing less and less, hoping this will actually have an impact on Valve ( probably won't ).

So true. Ive been playing since 1.6 and just lost my love for the game due to the cheating problem. I instead started playing dota 2 ironically by valve too and its been very enjoyable. Hopefully this whole private cheats stuff can be sorted out one day

valve is actively trying to kill cs as if a lackluster release wasnt enough

all valve needs to do is double check the integrity of their bans like they always use to do, but for some unknown reason are currently not doing that. they are so stuck up in their vaclive being perfect that theyve put me out $6k in skins because theyre too ignorant to admint their wrongdoings.

Bots. Bots fill up a lot of games these days and you'd be stunned how easily it is to get overwhelmed. The only real way to do it now is automated systems filtering out what and who you should be looking at. Then a dedicated team reviews those cases. In some instances it wouldn't take long at all. You could catch cheaters mid game.

I’ve had the mass reporting happen to me. Lasted for months because it would keep refreshing despite not even playing the game for that period. A lot of my homies also got false banned, separate from myself.

valve should have waited another year at minimum before transfering over to CS2. I mean this launch has had so many issues it should be compared to cyberpunk

When jeko got banned i was one of the ones trying to help him figure out why. And if he was banned because of mass reporting then its the same reason why i was banned back in csgo. I got mass reported down to low trust factor, and then banned randomly. 5 days later i got unbanned and then the next day, the overwatch system magically disappeared from the game entirely. Glad to know hes unbanned though. Being banned for no reason and losing a ton of money because of it is extremely stressful

You can still ragehack in mm just fine and without overwatch theres basically no way to get banned with an undetected cheat.

My assumption for the false spinbot bans is that valve is finally trying to implement server side anticheat but they are unbelievably oblivious to how cheats work and look like that they got the detection embarrassingly wrong. That only paints a picture of them which also explains why VAC was always been completely useless.

Back in the day, very few people were hit with wrongful bans and they were handled with varying degrees of attitude. These days, every platform just falsebans whoever they don't like and not a single platform holds itself accountable.

Back in 1.6 an admin of a community server could ban you for cheating and it would be a game ban and show up on your steam profile. Valve saw what a huge mistake that was and now 1.6 bans Dont display on your profile anymore

Valve needs to put there pride away & get a proper anti cheat! I dont care if its as intrusive as Vanguard at least when i play Valorant i know its going to be a fair game! We played alot of cs2 when it first launched but havent played for over 3 weeks & with the state its in currently it could be a while before me&my friends return to the game! I want to play CS2 i want to enjoy it but with the state the game is in currently with the bugs, false bans, cheaters its just not worth risking it!

It's not pride that is the issue. It's privacy. Do you really wanna put a random software that has internet connection, that runs at ring 0, where your kernel and drivers are lived in. Btw, a good chunk of your common type of drivers, video drivers for example, don't use ring 0 anymore. If anything crash in Ring 0, it can result into system crash

I could care less if Riot has my meme stash or can see what programs I'm running. I don't work for the FBI, so I doubt I'd be leaking anything important. I get that Valve is playing the long game with AI anticheat because even intrusive anticheats are suffering from new workarounds and hardware bound anticheats are very impractical (must develop for Steam Deck w/ Linux OS seperately or MacOS if Valve ever decides to bring Mac support back). And future cheats even might not need to run locally. So AI seems like to be the answer but the price playerbase is paying to get there is too steep for now

Crazy how the CS players were shouting that CS2 was gonna kill Val and now the Val players are doing more than Valve to try and fix their shitty game

This is the problem with AI learning, if you feed the wrong information or don't check what the AI is exactly learning it will give out the wrong information back. The AI VAC according to this video isn't searching for hacks/script but for high sens/dpi since many players that got a VAC ban from overwatch had example: spinbots/auto aim etc. With those kind of hacks they "get" high sens/dpi, so the connected high sens/dpi with a hacker while I isn't the case sometimes. Valve just didn't double check the information that the AI learned and why in testing (if they tested it) it banned a player.

Serious post here, I thought valve never reversed VAC bans or let people dispute VAC bans? With all these people being falsely banned, how can I be sure that I won't get falsely banned? It makes me not want to play CS2.

An invasive anticheat with the recent security faults could literally bring a nation to it's knees.

You guys should do a video on the r/globaloffensive mods. between pretending to know how sub tick works and counter productive blanket censorship, there's probably a lot of content there.

I got shadow banned from the finals beta over the logitech G hub. It should be highly illegal for any company to ban you for anything that isn't red hand proof you cheated against other players.

Valve could have even more problems in the future, they released a game that wasn't ready, that was still having more problems than we thought. Full of bugs, an anti-cheat that only seems to work to ban legitimate players, I've played this game a lot both cs 1.6, cs source, csgo, cs2 and you can tell very well when a team that plays against me is legit or with hacks. It seems that only Valve doesn't want to see it.

The thing is, this stuff has been happening for YEARS.... I have been banned about 7 or 8 years, and since there is no way to get valve to undo it, unless you're famous or a lot of people have a problem at the same time, this probably will never change...

False ban has always been a thing in csgo. Especially when you get banned in overwatch for a glitch that happens once in a while. Probably got banned from a game I played on overpass. My camera pov was spawned in the sky and I was able to see what I wasn't supposed to see. Made calls outs and shot at players through smokes. Got a game ban not too long after that game.

2:20 That's me! I believe was banned for high dpi and I think that the anti-cheat detects fast spinning and if the player is shooting at an entity (AI thinks spinbot + aimlock). I was playing a casual match (no team damage) and I was shooting my teammate while on top of their head while spinning when they were defusing (like as a victory taunt). I was banned in the same match and its been 169 days with no response from Valve

Sadly this problem goes way beyond CS2, I've had issues with being kicked out of games on both Fortnite and Farlight 84. With Fortnite I don't know why it happened at all, it kicked me out number of times citing VPN, connection, or cheating issues. I eventually gave up and went back to playing that game on console as I didn't want to risk getting my account banned simply because the anti-cheat didn't like my PC for some reason. I've had issues with Farlight 84 too, in fact, you can predict that after every update for Farlight 84 there will be anti cheat problems and the approach I now take with that game is to wait a few days after a patch to give the devs a chance to fix the anti cheat problems. What makes it worse with Farlight 84 is that the devs brag about how well anti-cheat works even though we can all see it is plagued with problems.

Valve already released a statement, stating they are currently looking for CLARA (their former employee) for reversing the algorithm of VAC ban. 😂😂

I got a VAC ban last week and i been playing csgo since it first came out and have all my games and items on this account. I was freaking out because I don't cheat at all and was curious why I got a VAC ban. I messaged and put in a repeal to valve and within a day they removed my VAC ban. If your truly innocent I would contact valve and send them a message explaining what happened.

one of the issues apart from the lack of a good working anticheat is the New Premier System,.the one that Valve said that will eliminate the competition , ESEA and Faceit ,, thats a nice bubble if you can't see the truth ,, i got my rank when the first open beta dropped , which was meh but it was a beta so i excused it , when the game full launched on September 27th , i started playing premier , for the records i was Supreme in CSGO , anw i got my first rank in cs2 which was low considering my win to lose ration , it was around 3-4 k (now people who lose a lot more matches are placed around 7-9 k ) , nvm i grinded so much against toxic teammates , cheaters in game etc , reached the 10k mark , i started climbing the ranks almost at 15 k , Note that i was getting around 250-350 points if i won and losing 120-150 per match , after 6 consecutive wins at around 14.8k i thought that i ill go to the promotion and then proceed BUT NO,, I WAS GETTING 100 AND LOSIGN 400 , which instantly ruined my will to play the game,, i thought, its just one game ,,the rest will be okay , guess what,, NOPE ,, i kept losing more and more points , 495 , 500 , 395 etc ,,, every game i was playing with that terrible reward if win, ruined my mood , now im around 13,670 and pretty disappointed with valve .

Machine learning has an error rate by definition and no matter how much work you put into it it will always be there. There is no room for an error rate in anticheat software so they should finally give up on that horrible idea.

I was one of the victims of this false ban wave, got banned in November 25, got unbanned 16 days later (yesterday), I suffered so much duting this time bc I had 10k+ dollars of inventory, now I already sold the majority of them and never gonna spend so much money on a game anymore, i learnt a lesson

I installed CS2 a couple of days ago and the first thing that happened when i joined the server were afk spam bots sending links in Chinese... Great...

It is still my core belief that some idiot with big influence at valve is on the cheaters payroll, because CS2 anti cheats doesn't work

Why does Valve not understand that AI anticheat will never work? Even if it gets as good as a human doing overwatch case, there are still closet cheaters who don't get banned unless there is a detection! I've been checking a couple of cheaters I've had for weeks/months (40+ kills!) but they still aren't banned.

whats pathetically awful is that years ago i got overwatch banned in CS. i was just silver; have a couple hundreds of hours of playing the game, but that doesnt mean i couldnt hit flick or pre-fire lol, i have thousands of hours in r6. next thing i know my account was banned by the overwatch because of silver whinners reported me for flicking and pre-firing with AWP. guess what, now they removed the overwatch, my account is still game banned to this day. bunch of my cs items dusted in my inventory, just wishing i could sell them and never touch this trash ever again

Crazy idea, bring back overwatch, have 10k+ people review the overwatch case, if more than 50% of the people deem them cheating or griefing, send demo to vac live, aka, make it as csgo but in the end have the AI "confirm" the suspicion of cheating, you would probably have alot less bans, also adjust the overwatch to smth like 15k+ rating on premier so not every single person can do an overwatch case, cuz we sometimes seem to forget that just because someone is better does not mean they are hacking, so (Sorry for this) if "low leveled" people would get the overwatch cases that might lead to the AI getting alot of demos that are not cheaters, thx

at this point i believe that valve has some people that work together with cheat developers, more banned people means more new accounts with prime for valve. theres no excuse to not getting a bulletproof anticheat anymore after valorant showed everyone that it can be done right. i know it may cause some problems with steam decks and other operating systems but the company is worth over 7 billion, no excuses fix your fking game.

Actually AI could be able to differentiate between someone trolling with high dpi and someone spinbotting but it need to be calibrated properly.

Likely everyone in the computer science industry hears about the classic example of training an AI to determine if an image is of a dog or a wolf, only to realize that the AI had only learned to detect large amounts of white in the background of the image (as most wolf photos were snowy) and then declare that image to be of a wolf, due to bias in the training data. This is literally what happened here. AI is a black box, we cannot know how the AI is actually making decisions, and if any of it's assumptions are actually true. In this case it is clear that Valve's AI is making numerous false assumptions, including the high DPI = cheater one, and players are paying the consequences for Valve outsourcing their anti-cheat department to half baked tech.

Ive been saying for years that VAC is a dumpster fire. Sad it took so long for people to notice.

The Trust factor is EU east is and still will be quite fucked. You can get up to 4 bans for existing. Example, if you don't speak Russian or Turkish. if you don't communicate, if you communicate to much, if you swear if, you don't do it, if you play mid with a sniper, if you don't read the mind of you team, if you don't drop, if you drop but not the thing that guy was thinking, if you buy or not utilities, if you use or not those nades. Literally you will be reported for even breathing. The moment when you touch the red trust you will be doomed to be there with trolls and cheaters. Well now with CS2 even if a cheater with skins ($70) will not get banned after a mass report and video evidence on him

I got banned 60 days ago. Had a few thousand on my account. Simply because I need high sens because I'm an awper. Only thing I got to show for my hundreds of hours is an automated steam support reply.

they need to bring overwatch back and instead of the AI automatically banning, it flags those for review and then a human can review and it can learn further. So if it is 95% certain its a ban, and then a human review it and says its not a ban it can alter its thought process and correct. Eventually, it will be better than any human will.

I think people also blame false bans when trying to hide actual cheating in this mess (lol on pro scene and streamers beibg legit 😂) then again this channel defended some seriously supicious people.

Guess we have to have HFB level inventories for valve to give a shit...

how will the anticheat learn if someone only uses Radar? He will never look through the wall or make weird movement, but he has the knowledge where the enemys are. I know people who legit hacking for over 10 years with the same cheat and never got banned its a shame

It won't learn lol. I'd argue it doesn't even learn anything in its current state, legits are getting banned and cheaters are not, meaning the model was flawed from the start, and will only continue to get worse if it continues to "learn". The only solution to this is a kernel anticheat which would catch the program rather than catching the player as the anticheat does now. Vac live is trained on spinbotters and certain rage features. You can wallhack, look at people through walls, shoot/aimbot people through walls, have 100% accuracy in air with an unscoped awp, shoot 5 awp bullets in under 1 second, and vac will not do a thing about it, and unless you get reported your trust factor won't go down either. With that said, if you're playing like I just mentioned you will definitely catch at least one report per game if not more.

i got banned this Saturday without cheating. i had 3k game play with 200$ inventory

I got falsely banned a few days ago. I submitted a ticket but there is no way to contact any human and worries my account I have had for 7 years now and accumulated 1000s of hours having this ban on it.

Biometric accounts would get rid of hackers, scammers and bot accounts. Until that happens gaming will never be honest.

I played against a guy with spinbot and bhop scripts instantly killing everyone and well… they aren’t banned so the anti-cheat is just a joke as they ban people for high DPI but not when they cheat
