My favorite from Sesame Street as a little kid was Oscar the Grouch, mostly because he was relatable and kinda still is nowadays and I always knew him as being green as a kid, but apparently in the early days of the show, he used to be like an orange or yellow color. Also liked Cookie Monster too as well. Though these Bow Biters and Shoe Monsters would probably be alright if you were in Elementary School.

It's not a spoiler anymore. They changed the monster a long time ago to something much worse.

Vans were the hit! With the beach scenes or Saved by the bell styles (shapes n colors) . With my rat tail and Ocean Beach and Gotcha clothes. Bugle boys....

I honestly don't remember any of these. Also there was actually a half-penny at one time, so it was once possible to get change for a penny. Fractional currency was usually in the form of a small piece of paper that looked like a stamp, though.

I can remember wearing “above the knee” shorts on the first day of fifth grade. These were WAYY above the knee! Damn near hot pants! No boy was wearing 1980s short shorts in 1995! Except Me! And this was way before My transition, so I was all Man! Or at least in public I tried to be lol…anyway, I was gathered with all the kids hanging out waiting for the bell to ring to begin the day. When I notice this tough looking kid pointing at me laughing. Then he just announced it to every kid close enough to hear. HEY!! Look at his shorts! 🤣🤣🤣 I think that’s all he said. Next thing you know everyone was staring at Me and some were laughing along. I had never been more humiliated in my life at that point! I remember immediately feeling somewhat naked and ashamed..I’m just glad this fat Kid Omar stepped in and defended Me. He was the first new friend I made that year. After that I never wore those shorts again. That began the I need to dress cool like those Tough kids era of My life. Later that year I begged My Mom to buy Me Shaquille O’Neal Reebok’s, an Orlando Magic Shaq jersey, and some baggy windbreaker pants to go with them…..Good Grief!😕

The gym shower thing was a concern, but what I feared the most was 10th grade Biology class, where they had mandatory finger sticks, for studying your blood under a microscope. My older sister got her finger stuck, with a metal lancet, so I knew what was coming; but by some miracle they stopped doing it. Thank God. And the shower thing turned out to be optional.

High school is where you learn that people suck. I was never bullied really, but the way people acted was so stupid. Are these people even the same species as me? Is it possible?

It's something like that. There's nothing to be afraid of but your own imagination was the point I think. It's amazing how widespread that book is for something I never knew had the acclaim of books like the hungry caterpillar, or green eggs & ham.

U think that's bad: i had a " TED BUNDY LIVES" T-shirt in HS. LOL ppl were afraid of me mostly tho. I was a skinny wuss,. but still ppl were taken back by that. Can't believe i wore that! I didn't know how to talk to girls ( even tho they did like me..did) so i ws like f it, just be the nut case guy. After HS i finally got popular n tons of puss-E. Yeah bay bee, YEAH!

Showers after gym was a perk, Junkman! Meant you didn’t have to try and rap to the ladies, all funky, and shit!

I hated PE in 12th grade.

Get out the shower, put on a fresh pair of baggy pants from Chess King, B.U.M. Gear sweatshirt, and turtleneck, spritz on some POLO. Wooo!!! Stylin’ and profilin’!!!
