Great advice about not worrying necessarily about the number on the scale, but the % numbers of muscle and fat comp. Also, going from 5:40 to 5:04 is terrific and I'm assuming that's still being on a cal deficit! 7 months I've lost 28lbs and have been able to improve my run time! It's no 5 minute... (it's 10:58) but from where I was till now, huge improvement. You'll get it for sure! Like you said, just have to keep training!

@@nicksymmonds Nick, are you going to be tapering off volume on deadlift leading up to your next attempt? High volume on a heavy lift like deadlifts while on a cut can be pretty brutal on recovery. By the way as a lifter who is casually into running I think being able to run anything under 6 while lifting those kinds of weights is extremely impressive, I know how challenging it is to perform in both of those disciplines together.

When Nick said “Fit comes in all different sizes” it almost brought tears to my eyes; basically I’m a female gymnast who’s always been teased for being “fat” I was actually very fit for gymnastics though. I preferred doing tumbling in gymnastics and I took advantage of the fact that I don’t have a fear of moving/flipping backwards. I always started my pre tumbling exercise as 10 1 minute back bends and a lot of other stuff related to my back/ribs. I was the best backwards tumbler in my practices. And almost everyone was wondering how, because I looked fat. The truth is, imagine this. Your a dinosaur (ribs) protecting your eggs (vital organs) and a predator (bending backwards) comes in. The dinosaur is always going to COME OUT of the place it was originally in to protect its eggs. If that doesn’t make sense than basically when I flip my ribs go outward giving me that fat disguise when in reality it’s my ribs trying to protect my vital organs even more. If your one of those people who judge people for weighing and looking different. Just stop Nobody’s cheering you on. I’m not exaggerating when I say those people ruin life’s. I was mentally unstable, depressed, and cried myself to sleep while saying horrible things about me. I was disgusted by the way I looked. (Now I know that no matter what my golden heart shines through and makes me beautiful) it’s horrible how older, popular, and pretty people can manipulate these gorgeous girls to thinking they are ugly. The truth is you are you and that’s what matters! Your beautiful just the way you are is another way of saying what Nick was saying

Good try, Nick. Good seeing you out in Ocean Breeze, Staten Island this past weekend. If you ever come out to Staten Island again, check out Clove Lakes Park and the Staten Island Athletic Club.

Killer mile! I finally tried run gum for my half marathon a couple days ago. I really liked it.

I love that the sponsor for a video about fitness and losing weight/fat is a beer company.

I don't like running, but I have found workouts that I do like. I started working out in the beginning of december and I really enjoy lifting weights. For cardio, I really like the rowing machine for some reason. I also do quite a lot of fast walking on an inclined treadmill. Running just hurts my legs so much and I can't keep it going for more than a minute at a time.Maybe it'll get easier when I lose more weight, so I will try again. For general cardio/weightloss I also take walks outside several times a week which I enjoy as well. Finding activities that you enjoy and don't have to force yourself to do is vital to be able to stay motivated.
