I'm playing this game for years now, on and off. I never really tried hard enough to get past the wasteland map on the highest level. And I'm freaking PAUSING all the time! :) But right now, I'm hopeful I will get past it. Thx to your videos, which taught me a lot... I still do play way to risky, clearing too much too soon, and focussing too much on perfect economy (having like 1000 income on day 20)... of course, when the random waves come, there will be an error, because I was too stingy spending on good defenses... I noticed one thing, watching your most recent video: when your soldier is clearing loads of enemies, you move him before he gets hit... I let him get a few hits, and then, when he runs, he can heal while the zombies catch up... that way, he spents more time shooting and less time running, becoming more effective. Oh, and: I love your 3x3 spikes technique. I use it not just for the early waves, but to clear areas too.

That first mayor was key. A starting farm without needing the research and most importantly space for it was a nice boost to your early economy.

Kensei, I just thought of something I would find really interesting. If on a prior run you died on say day 25, it would be cool to clip in the footage of that death on day 25 of the successful run. Like a memory montage comparing the two.

Definitely an interesting addition. I've done showing a try and then once I die I switch to the same day on a later attempt.

This guy is good, but partially lucky. I'll play brutal on caustic lands and most of the time get an endless unprovoked horde coming after me around 20 days in. Id like to see him counter that.

An endless unprovoked horde at day 20 is probably not unprovoked at all but attracted by noise. Minimizing noise is a necessity on difficult maps.

The Snipers stand just around doing nothing min 37 - 39

Because they make a lot of noise and therefore attract a lot of infected and especially the mutants, which easily leads to a run death. He uses them as soon as he has enough firepower to face the mutants.

can you try these hard pushing the doom tower early with the ballista towers? just to see if it might be a better play than trying to sneak around it. ballista stake traps kiting etc. instead of taking alot of time trying to tiptow around it.

Some of the impossible maps I do fight the doom town right away, but if there are Mutants behind it I prefer to avoid it

@@KenseiTV I get you, you just apparently from the dialog had a run where the mutants ruined you on day 3. and you despite all your experience have no idea what causes mutants sometimes to be day 4 and sometimes not come despite sending rangers up to shoot them. the playthru you gave us, the mutants were not coming regardless of what you did. the other one you mentioned they apparently came really early and wiped you out. you don't upload the failures. have you considered a failure compilation? with commentary and or analysis of what possibly caused you to go wrong, why the mutants came on day 3? etc.

@@bloodred255the way mutants work is rng. They dont have the same noise threshold like other zombie, plus their noise range is massive compared to other zombies. Theres not really much analysis to be made other than get luckier with the rng

On the topic of teh hardest impossible map you played, for me it seemed to be the one where you had like 4-5 mutants very close to teh only entrance to your choke where you had to pull an executor repair + thanatos mayor with some snipers to hold it off, that one is easily 2000% imo

@Allosaurus 67 had to look for it in my comment history, its actually not called an impossible map by kensei its called They are Billions - Quarter Map the only shame in my opinion is that we didnt get to see the early buildup of the true run because of the editing style kensei was using at the time. but its still a good watch and easily the hardest survival map i have seen kensei beat on here (as like 99% of a maps difficulty is in the earlygame and no map has harder earlygame than this one at least none that i have seen) like in teh initial post i even forgot that he even added shock tower on top of teh executor and thanatos to deal with teh fallout of teh mutants without dieing
