that is probably the best jump scare I've ever seen in a game, period. the fact he stops shortly before it happens because he caught sight of the model cli[ping through the floor seconds earlier and pressed on, with the dark and quiet atmosphere of the facility just made for a perfect one two punch.

The noise that the bloop makes on it's own is haunting enough tbh. It's so, so creepy.

Imagine if they made a Subnautica game with areas big enough to reasonably house monsters THAT huge. That'd be the most horrifying experience ever. Holy shit it's tail just kept going and going and going and going... And what's scarier that outside the crater's edge, the creatures canonically get to be that absolutely massive. And not just Ghost leviathans.

I know the dark shaders make it look super creepy and stuff but it’s kinda annoying

I love that someone brought in an interpretation of the "bloop" into subnautica, that is so cool.

The way that supersized Garg appeared in the fog was downright scary because from a diver’s perspective, it would mean certain death if you went near that thing.

My first play through in the game was genuinely hilarious for me. Like I saw a leviathans tail going into the depths, my reaction “wtf is that?” Proceeds to continue scanning cyclops engine fragments.

Half the time it’s not even the creatures scaring me. It’s IGP suddenly screaming that gets me

Love all these new creatures the mods have added. It really highlights and puts a transparent image of the fear that you have when playing this game.

The first time I saw the Emperor Leviathan's first message, I thought a ghost leviathan was charging at me from out of the Kelp Forest and it scared the shit out of me

The mod for the alien gun is real but is really op and might ruin the game, that's your choice

There is also a mod to use a viking sword found in an other base. It's less OP and can be very epic if you manage to kill a leviatan with it

Well, considering IGP beat it in EA (as much as one could), then beat it post release, as the Devs intended, he can "ruin the game" as much as he wants. Most people follow the metric of only beating the game once, before modding. Guess even 2x isn't good enough without you weighing in your 2 cents. So, serious question: how many times must one beat a game vanilla style before you accept that modding will not ruin their play experience, as devs intended (since they've already experienced it 'enough' times)? That after that point, the intention is not to play as the devs intended?

2:37 yes there is. And it has a bouncy bullet! It can really bounce. But it does take a while to charge it up. Also requires ion batteries specifically, and cannot use normal batteries

The memorial for the fallen capsule is somehow saddening, it shines light in how you are completely alone on this planet full of wonderful and deadly creatures.. And a,so a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy reference
