These Turned Out Better Than I Had Imagined

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

If you're anything like me, you buy individual side tables in hopes that ONE DAY you'll find another one just like it to make a matching pair. But lets face it. That almost NEVER happens!!!
I bought a dark, flat-faced side table at Goodwill for $15. Two weeks later I found another side table at a thrift store for $46. This one was lighter in color and had beveled trim around each drawer. The knob arrangement was different as well. But the overall size and two of the design elements on both pieces inspired me.
Come see what I did to transform these two different side tables into a beautiful, stylish, matching pair.
Products used include:
Benjamin Moore Advance Paint, "Briarwood," Satin Finish
Behr Polyurethane, Matte finish
Earlex 5500 Paint Sprayer System (now sold as the 5700)
Kilz Original Primer (spray can)
Surfprep Sanding system with DeWalt 10 gallon shop vac for dust extraction
3M Respirator with both 60923 vapor filter and 2091 particulate filter

Nice idea adding the trim to make the pieces look more similar.

Those are beautiful, great ideas to tie them together. Using the painters tape to catch the bugs is soooo smart!

Very nice paint job. I rarely see people to take the time to do a proper prep. Nice touch on the hardware. I think you made two mismatched pieces look cohesive

They look great. You can hardly tell that they're different. Did you ever end up selling them if so what did you get for them? I always like to know what flippers make off their flips .

I think I'll start stating the costs and profits going forward. Because you're right - it's fun to know. I was all in at $145 which is high for me but it's because one of the side tables was $45 when I found it at the thrift store. I've posted them for $425. They haven't sold yet. It was radio silence for about 10 days but I'm suddently getting a lot of inquiries.
