These Monster Hunters Don’t Stand a Chance

This week, I created another monster hunt diorama featuring a terrifying snake. The little hunting party has a sneaky plan to catch the snake, but I'm not convinced things will pan out in their favor.

The hunter's plan works perfectly, they escape the canyon, leaving the fallen archway in the snake's path. While they are busy celebrating their success, the snake realizes that it's not bound by the borders of the diorama, and simply slithers around the rock to devour the cowboys.

Nice work mate as always. That's a heck of a dangerous universe you are creating there 🙂.
Another idea for this universe could be a massive trap door spider that has turned a path way into its trap waiting for some unsuspecting settlers. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely stunning. You should definitely tap into the “van meter visitor”, it’s an pterosaur like creature that was spotted in Iowa 1903 in the mid west. the monster has a great wings and a horn that glows a blinding light and was said to fly around and would reside in the mines. Reports say it loves to perch on top of roof tops, I think it would fit perfectly into your Wild West aesthetic.
I love that your dioramas are so story rich, I think that's what sets this series apart. Your work is amazing in and of itself but I love the world building and I'm always excited to see what you will add to this world next.

I know you already get a lot of requests and suggestions for the Wild Imaginary West, but I personally would love to see either more unusual and "fantastical" locales and setpieces, as well as monsters and creatures from the Wild Imaginary West that aren't as aggressive towards people, if that wouldn't be too much to ask. I actually had an idea that I think I would work for both, of a Giant Magpie that uproots trees to make their nests, but also picks over ruined Mechs and destroyed buildings, and if it finds any chunks or pieces that it particularly likes, it steal them and works those parts into it's nest. Over time, the nest becomes a weird jumble of wood and technology, and maybe some salvagers try to sneak into the nest to find anything of value and get out before the bird comes back.

Wow man I love your attention to detail with the snake and the men! The colors are perfect!🔥
Something I stumbled across that I think could be a cool addition to this series is a giant vulture; more specifically the Argentavis. It weighed around 70kg, with a wingspan of about 7 meters. There could be a scene at night of it diving towards a camp of pioneers, with a ring of covered wagons on the outside, with the campfire only just illuminating the beast for a moment before it snatches one of the travelers.
@popisdeadisagoodsong9997

That sounds way awesome! I love argentavis, and perhaps he could do pelagornis as well.
Love the monster builds so much. The Moose is still easily the scariest one imo.
I love this series so much! I love when you show these terrifying monsters
Can you research "Ape Canyon" ? A group of miners were trapped in a log cabin and under attack from a group of Sasquatch one night in the early 1900s. It's well documented. It would make a brilliant sci fi western update!! please!!

I had a well-documented relationship with Paula Abdul in the 80s, but it wasn't real. However, it certainly fits in his fictional world.
The WIldWest grows! Love this one. Also, the lighting outside isn't as great as your studio, but I guess the nature and birds and stuff is kinda neat.
I'd love to see a scene of two of these monsters fighting each other with some wagon train folk watching in horror. Maybe a giant monster jackalope vs a dire coyote? That'd be pretty sick
I love the almost sci-fi/steampunk fantasy Wild West world you’re creating. I can already imagine stories that could take place in it. I wonder if there are any aliens that exist in that world…

One of my favorite little things about this piece is the guy waiting above to strike the rock down. I love that kind of attention to detail. He wasn't "necessary" to the diorama but it made the whole thing feel that much more alive. Excellent work as always.
This is one of the best dioramas that he has made yet in this series. Keep up the great, no FANTASTIC work.
This is still one of my top series on all of KZread. Love these Weird and Wild West updates!
I forget just how many dioramas you've made for this world! This snake hunt one has so much character and story, it's definitely one of my favorites! Great work, Boylei!!
Yay! Another Wild West World diorama! I love them. I think the guy knocks the rock down too early trapping them all in the canyon and the snake has a great snack.
Absolutely love this series. I really hope it gets picked up as a tv show or film one day! ;)
Yay! More wild imaginary west!
It’s a genuinely amazing world you make with these dioramas man. If there was a movie or anthology show surrounding this world I’d watch it.
This series is getting BUCK WILD and I'm here for it 1000%
Love this build, and love the nature shots (especially the hummingbird!!!). Thanks for putting everything out at the end, and fun to remember each of those builds!
Keeping in theme with the western critters, have you consided some kind of giant monster turkey vulture? I think that'd be pretty awesome.
The birds chirping while you paint is really soothing!
When he puts all the dioramas together like it makes perfect sense. 🥰
Beautiful work, C! Amazing as usual. I love that you went outside to work... I love that too! Kudos for the fantastic nature shots. Sweet!

I legitimately just watched the movie love and monsters. this entire rabbit hole of diaramas you got going on here are like a continuation of that film
I can’t over how realistic this looks. Great job, I call it great.
I love this one a lot. The half arch is a really cool feel. Your work is always a huge inspiration for me, since I’m working on a sort of “weird west” esque thing of my own, except I’m a writer and illustrator rather than a diorama maker. This stuff is really cool.
3:40 "This is it gentlemen, our last big score!" -Dutch fighting a Giant Snake
Love the wild fanatasy western esthetic! I would love a Saturday morning cartoon, D&D module, or just another crafting video ;) it's so cool. I was blown away by your walker wagons, so original.
The coolest art exhibit I have ever seen was all the dioramas built for the iSpy books. It was such an awesome experience to go and see some of the actual ones built which were then photographed for the books I saw as a kid. Your dioramas have that same sense of exploration
*checks watch* Oh, it's math time. so using the base length of the front-most guy in this shot (1:49 about 1.5 inches) I am able to determine that the length of the gun that the back grey guy in the back of the shot is around 1.25 inches. assuming this is an 1873 Winchester hunting rifle this means that 1.25 inches in the diorama are equal to 39 inches in real life. To make the math easier I'll divide 39 by five (7.8) and then multiply it by 4 (31.2) to get the length in the diorama equal to one flat inch so now we know that for every 1 IRL inch there are 31.2 inches in the diorama. Moving onto the snake I was able to count the number of inches the snake is (using this shot 2:57) as 21 inches, adding our IRL to Diorama formula (31.2*21) I can determine that this snake is 655.2 inches, equating to 54.6 feet or 16.64 meters, the longest snake ever recorded was medusa who was only 7.67 meters long or 32 feet 9.5 inches, less than half of our canyon slither lad. Wow.
A photographer, a painter and a crafter! Man, this guy can do everything!
I really enjoy this series. It combines two of my passions: the scenery of the West and surreal cryptid-based horror. I think my personal favorite is the moose in the lake, but they're all wonderful!
The shot at the end where you gather a bunch of your previous projects was phenomenal. It was great seeing a culmination of all the work you put into this channel. You truly have a magnificent talent with telling a deep and thrilling story within a small piece of art!
Absolutely love your channel! I struggle with anxiety, especially at night and these videos have really helped to keep me relaxed, they literally make me smile every time, thank you 🙏🏻 💜🇬🇧
How much more relaxing could a Boylei Hobby Time Video be? "... I decided to take some shots of nature..." 😍😍😍😍 The talent, inventiveness and production that goes in to these dioramas and videos is wonderful.
that humming bird shot hit just right, very relaxing.
I've said it before and I'll say it again- I can't get enough of this amazing series! ❤️

Love your attention to detail and your patience with the small scale. My eyes, hands and overall lack of patience for tiny crafting pretty much make this level of work something I rarely even think to tackle, but I love watching you just own it. Awesome work, man! God bless.
Someone that's good with filmmaking needs to make a scene like this, I'd watch it over and over
This kit bashing, sort of, is great. I love the creativity of it instead of just buying an off the shelf premade scene. Great stuff.
Hey im glad your the type of youtuber to touch grass and actually enjoy what we have left or mother nature

Fantastic work, Boylei! I look forward to waking up Sunday Morning to see what your next project will be, and I'm never disappointed! Thanks again for your entertaining, informative tutorials, and your stories from the Wild, Imaginary West!
What a wild, wild west world, beautifully rendered! Can't wait to see more!
Once again, your composition is spot on. Just enough detail to convey the story in a very small footprint. You really have a great imagination.
And the award " Monsterkill Of The Week" goes to...these gentlemen ....great video. Greetings from Germany!
The painting on that snake was Awsome, so real looking.
I loved seeing all of your wild west dioramas all in one place. I want to see it all in a giant put-together diorama, telling an amazing "Firefly" type of story!
I love how he has a story to go with the diorama, it makes it so much more interesting
The nature shots combined with the music IMMIDIATELY reminded me of monster house and idk why
1. I love your Wild West with Monsters theme. I hope you enjoy it as much we do. 2. I loved the little nature footage montage. Really nice. 3. The little piano trills in the music (5:40 is a good example) made me think of the "Charlie bit me remix" videos. So thanks for firing those old neurons. :)
I never get tired of this semi-Weird West type of setting.
I do truly believe this is your best video to date. Really showing off your cinematography chops with those nature shots, and the variety is so peaceful
please never stop what you are doing i love your work, and i love that part about the nature.
Just finished catching up on all the Wild West videos. Pure entertainment.
I absolutely loved your nature shots and the rack focus down the canyon. I think the hunters' plan works, but sword guy bites the dust.
I recently discovered your channel. And I believe, though there are many model makers in KZread, but man, you are the best. Nobody can match your attention to the details. After me, by brother is a big fan of your channel, I recommended it to him. Tremendous admiration from India 🇮🇳.
Another great diorama for your Wild West. Giving me some Resident Evil vibes of fighting the giant snake in the attic and library.
Your videos are so calming and my favorite part of my Sunday
I think this these are your most entertaining diorama videos to me.
I really hope you decide to connect all of these pieces in one giant display eventually. It would be so cool but obviously a lot of work to make all the height transitions work! I particularly want to see all of your town buildings attached by proper roads to make a little city. Love your work!
I was excited to see this one, I submitted a suggestion for a monster rattle snake around January and found myself smiling at this build.
The best part of my week is when you upload, the worst part is when the video is over. Your videos are great ^^
If I had a quarter for every time I used the “pin the giant snake with a rock as it chases the guys who are the bait” trick classic… Nice work as always!
New technique, check. New montage features, check. New working environment, check. Bravo!
I appreciated the sudden nature scene! I needed that thank you
Rewatching for tips and tricks, and holy crap getting to that end scene with all the dioramas! I can't believe there were so many and now SOOO many more lol
So great. Love the fact I'm not the only one who find wizkids figures perfect for monsters in 1/72 scale.
The arch falls on the guy with the sword tripping up all the other cowboys, leaving a wonderful buffet style meal for the snake.
The world you’re creating with these dioramas is amazing. I’m always so excited to see what the next one is going to be. I would love to play a ttrpg here. Top notch work as always.
The nature break was so nice! Sorry your power went out, but glad you got to spend some time in the beautiful outdoors!

Subtle but impressive cinematography flex :) I enjoy your videos so much and they help recharge the old creative batteries so thank you
Really enjoying this series and loved the random nature time in this video
That was a very quick and eloquent way of painting up the snake, I'm definitely going to use that method at some point.
I love this western sci-fi thingy you got going on I would love if that would become a real show
why are these videos so fun and satisfiying to watch? I LOVE IT! KEEP IT UP! THEY GET BETTER EVERY TIME!!!
Never played a table top game before. But you have opened my eyes to a newfound respect for those players and games. I never knew what all went into quality pieces/boards/environments like DnD.
I really dig the clay consistency you got from leaving the mod podge not watered-down initially, and that lines up with how a lot of the American Southwest actually is!
These are all so good! I would put any of them on a shelf. A nice shelf.
You have the perfect creativity for an Open World scifi Western Game
*Making notes for the D&D Campaign* That idea might come in handy one day :D
Another cool addition to the wild west! Amazing work, as always. I'd love to see some sort of medic station and mech ambulance for all the monster mishaps
