If the receipt is being prepared for a rent payment, you can put the 1st of the month and last day of the month for example

Yes. But make sure he signs it - acknowledging that the money was received.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2023. I'm a tenant with a receipt book. My landlord wants to be paid his rent in CASH. So, WHICH COPY do I give HIM and WHICH COPY do I keep for my RECORDS? That's what I'm CONFUSED about.

Actually your landlord is suppose to be giving you a receipt as he/she is receiving money. But in your situation maybe he can sign it (which is a good idea) then you give him the original and you keep the copy.

It would make sense if you keep the white copy since you are the customer/tenant (even if you're the one who fills this out). He keeps the yellow copy if he wants to but he has to sign it.
