    Hi! I'm Lloyd from Poppes Poultry! I'm in great sadness to say I have temporarily closed down my Hobby Business due to moving back to England from Wales! I'm so honoured you've managed to hatch atleast 1 out, not bad for a trial run as we wasn't sure how it would go! Poppe will have a lovely home with you all! 😁 I will ship more eggs over come this summer of 2022 for sure! We will try again then. I will have some new bloodlines from Spain & Italy to improve my UK lines. Welcome to the world Poppe! ❤ Happy New Year to Jake & Family 👪 All the greatest success for 2022!

    @@whitehouseonthehill Jake, I’m hoping you’ll see this. I’m getting an egg incubator and some eggs tomorrow from the guy whom I’m buying the incubator from. He has a farm and has A LOT of eggs. I’ve been learning from reading and from listening to what you’ve been doing with receiving eggs. I’ll be getting mine tomorrow but I should let them sit for tomorrow and then place in the incubator on Sunday for 21 days? I also ordered a half a dozen black maran eggs coming from Alabama, I’m in NC, from my knowledge they have 10 days from hatch to make it or they won’t hatch. If I get them before the 10 days, let them sit for rest of that day and then the following day put them in incubator for 21 days and see if any hatch. Do I understand this right?

    I found a paper clipping giving results of the local show ( in Scotland ) and my great grandfather was named as winning prizes with his Black Spanish fowls - they'd be large fowl of course. This was around 1860, and I think they were quite common back then before the more modern breeds took over.

    That's very cool! My hometown newspaper has a Flash from the past article once a week from the historical society. In one I found my great grandfather and a great uncle who's racing pigeons won some interstate race. I knew he raised homing Pigeons but didn't know he entered long distance races with them. Like you, I was so happy to find a piece of family history.

    Lovely birdies! I imagine the airlines cargo holds doesn't have adequate warmth for eggs and anything needing to stay warm enough. Another idea to look into if you want eggs of other lands is to find out if you can hand carry them aboard international flights and if so, then take a trip to go get some. You might even be able to use a battery powered warmer too.

    Shipped eggs need to be at rest for atleast 24 hrs, then in the incubater should be held upright pointy side down because the air cells are mostly damaged and detached. Also lockdown in egg tray or carton. Anyways lovely bird! I'm also gonna import some dark marans egg from UK. Praying I get a nice hatch rate.

    But the shipping time is longer from the UK. So weren't they resting the time they were in route? Also, I'm pretty sure this amazing bird family knows how to hatch eggs. Especially since they raise exotic birds also. Just curious about your comment. I hope I don't offend. I've only hatched chickens so I'm always learning.

    Such a fitting video for my day, thank you. We just found one of our bantam females with a nest of eggs under her house today with two freshly hatched chicks. She had been sitting on ten eggs but it looked like the heavy frost had killed all but the two a week or more ago. This makes our second unexpected winter hatch. We don't get snow here but the past week has been freezing our duck ponds so we were never expecting anything to hatch. And for those of you wondering what takes so long with international eggs, it is less about the actual transit times and more about clearing customs. I used to get fish from over seas and they sometimes sat in warehouses at the airports for days while all the paperwork was checked over and over again. If anything was the slightest bit off it could take longer or they could just refuse to let it pass. There are ways to speed things along, like having a licensed handler involved but that gets a bit costly and things are still not always guaranteed to go well as they tend to take more than one client at a time so you stuff might be very legal but someone else might be bad and the whole shipment gets taken by customs. That being said, eggs in the mail are always a high risk of low hatch rates on average, even if they are coming from the next town over. Figures crossed for you guys next time. She's a pretty bird to be sure.

    They need heating ?

  • @jillianstolling2602

    @jillianstolling2602

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@irenedavo3768 Most breeders check weather conditions before shipping, in an attempt to ensure they will not be exposed to extreme temperatures. Also the packaging used to secure the eggs (Most commonly paper or form) tends to act as an insulator to help not only prevent damage but regulate temperature. If the boxes are marked most postal workers will also ensure they travel with the live animals in a temperature regulated section of the transport or post office but that one is less certain. So the short answer is no, a well shipped egg does not need heating or cooling for transport, it can actually do more harm than good. Live animals being shipped generally do need more attention to their comfort, such as heating and cooling packs but they also breath so you can't cramp them into tight packed boxes like eggs. Hope that helps.

    Amazing video again! Your an inspiration to Fathers all across the world!! Started watching your hatching videos around the time the lego incubator was posted!!! I have started my own thing, my favorite breed are the ayam cemani! But the barred rocks are close behind in second. A lesson for us was that we are not a turkey type of people! I chased our Tom all around the back woods because he jumped his 6 foot tall fence! I’ll stick with chickens, rabbits and quail!! Ps:if you want to try quail hatching eggs from Myshire Farms in Ohio are AMAZING!!!(not affiliated with them, just a huge fan) Finally Happy new year! May this year be a big blessing ❤️

    Amazing. Who would imagine eggs could come across an ocean, yet still hatch. I have never heard of getting eggs before. My Step Mom wants exotic chicks, now there is some hope. Poppy is beautiful. My very first job, was poxing chicks. When they are a day old, they came in boxes of 100. We got 10 cents a box to give them their shot, it goes under the wing, for chicken pox. That was in mid 60's. Now they probably have some crazy way to do it with a machine!!
