This song is exactly why going to the disco was so much fun! We danced all night long and it was a total riot! We did have sooooo much fun and I met my husband there.. some things we need to go back to so you young people can have some fun too!

Unfortunately, it's hard to incorporate shootings, murders, big booty's and oral sex in intricate detail, into a disco song. The young people just wouldn't relate! They wouldn't have the distraction of trying to walk, dance and look cool in 5 layer platform shoes! Music and songs made up of more than 1 line of lyrics not repeated 500 times? Slowly spinning mirror balls and no lasers flashing and throbbing?.... They'd be bored to death and just spend the night stabbing and fighting each other! 🤦‍♂️

oh i remember dancing to that in the late 70's! we thought the nights would never end! the song was a workout!

@@GeorgeMaster-xg7lg I’m from NY, Brooklyn to be exact. 107.5 WBLS and 92 WKTU played all the Jamz. I miss dancing 💃🏽🕺🏽 with my Dad s as I was his ONLY BABYGIRL. 😢💔 Disco was fun and kept up on the dance floor. I champion Disco too. 😘

We did have it good. I don't know if we realized it at the time though.

The song will never ever get old! Fire!

This is one of the most iconic songs of that era, and continues to be used in tv/movies.

There wasn't a dirty version but there was an extended club mix like most big disco hits at the time. There would be the '7 inch 45 RPM record that was played on the radio then there would be a '12 inch version that would be much longer for extended club dancing.

He said burn that “mother” down!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

In 76 to 79 I was 18 to 20 and was in the US Army in the 24 hour city called Berlin, Germany....Germans were all in on Disco and as a country boy when I left Berlin in 79 I could disco down better than I could 2 step, swing or waltz. You should see my wife and I hit the floor today when disco comes on during a break...of course I throw out my back each time but......WHO CARES? LOL

To me this has always been the ANTHEM for disco! If I could just turn back the hand of time. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

If you like it hot there was a band called HEATWAVE, There three big hits were "Boogie Nights", "Groove Line" and the love ballad "Always And Forever"

We boogied down too that tramp song whewwww hell yeah we did. It was amazing at the discos

Time to listen to some of the disco originators. Try George McCrae doing "Rock Your Baby", The Hues Corporation doing "Rock The Boat", Harold Melvin doing "The Love I Lost", Manu Dibango doing "Soul Makossa", Chakachas doing "Jungle Fever", and The O'Jays doing "Love Train". These are some of the real "cornerstones" of disco.

Love that song.

This song was featured in the mega hit movie "Saturday Night Fever" (1977). It garnered the Tramps an Oscar award as part of the soundtrack of the movie. This became a monster hit for them during the disco era of the 70's and early 80's. Great reaction as always.

Honestly we were so used to having great music back in the seventies that we sort of expected it! And the band's always delivered!

I could watch the Tramps singing this a million times and feel that same energy every single time. Lead singer is a total showman!

This song was my secret guilty pleasure back in the day. My friends and I would only be caught dead listening to punk/new wave, but I LOVED this disco song!

Sylvester’s “ (You Make Me Feel) Mighty Real” is my favorite disco song. He’s was incredible.

We did a lot of line dancing to this & other songs. The Hustle was another great one from the 70's.

Girl we did burn the dance floor down when this came on, body heat rising up from the dancers. we got on the dance floor for three hours non stop and you would 10 pounds in a night. When I was 6 my older sisters had the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and wore that thing out, my first introduction to funk and disco! This track was always my favorite, then in the 90s when disco made a comeback, I got to go to the clubs and dance my a$$ off to this song!

This was the short version. The longer dance version always played at the clubs and folks would tear it up on the dance floor. After a long week of work and school, my friends and I would hit the club and just have fun. No guns, no drugs. Just dancing, dressed up and having fun with everyone else. A lot less public mental health issues in those days as there was souch great music and dance moves to work out any of life's stresses.
