When I was fifteen, my chow chow, Miss Nikki, and I were on a walk. We were attacked by a rabid coyote. Miss Nikki fought it off. We both escaped almost entirely unharmed. We both got additional rabies shots: by sheer luck, the day before the incident, she'd gotten her yearly vaccines, including Rabies. We actually were lucky because, thanks to us being able to prove that she'd never had a lapse in vaccinations, we were able to take her home. That was in 2010. Last April, I said goodbye to a now-fourteen-year-old Miss Nikki. It was one of the hardest moments of my life.

I use to eat vanilla ice cream with my dad before 2020

We adopted a female german shepherd and collie mix that had already been returned 3 times to the kill shelter. A few months after getting her, she protected my mom from a neighbor's vicious chow-chow. She grabbed it by the neck and slammed it to the ground when it came for her. Dogs give us so much love that it's unbelievable! ❤️

The story of rex brought tears to my eyes. To see the dog In the condition it was and seeing the picture of them both at the end of the story to see the love in both of there eyes just shows how much a pet can love you and would do anything to keep you from Harm its real deep and powerful. Amazing stories.

My dog hasn’t done anything lifesaving, but he has tried to protect me from people that look suspicious. I love him and he’s a good boy ❤

I have a yellow lab and I love him with all my heart. Once you have a dog, he or she literally becomes one of your best friends.

That was my very first thought. But I had to check myself because not everyone will have the same logic. Life's a learning lesson and I bet none of those parents will EVER allow that to happen again!!!

It's hard to hold your composure in this situation. At one time about an hour in I went down on my knees. Thank God for good dogs. Our grandson, at 18 months was found because of our white pittie Sugar, and good people that took their time from their lives, some took off work, crews let their employees off to come help us look for him. Thank God for good people! R.I.P Sugar, we'll never forget you!

She has other kids, maybe one of them woke up from their nap in the house and she went to grab them, or maybe a kid needed some water or nappy change. They live in a big farm area, not an unsafe city full of bad people, so I’m sure she thought it’d be ok for a minute.

You do not leave them alone at all. In 1990s, our 2 children were never left outside alone, or anywhere else alone for that matter. Never lost them once.

No matter the size all dogs can be heroes. My teacup chihuahua saved my house from a house fire. An in-scent fell on her dog bed, and with cotton, it started to burn. she ran back and forth back and forth and barked then ran back to it. Then barked. Until I went to go get the burning bed. She’s awesome
