I would love to have LNF be amazing but its from a company that specializes in procedural generation. PG isnt bad when used sparingly but they made NMS with huge amounts of it and it lead to that game being fun at first because it was new with things you hadnt seen before but it quickly grew dull when you start to see the same thing over and over and over. LNF is going to be more of that. Cool at first but boring fast. They made a game world to the scale of Earth. Theres no possible way they could populate that with unique items through out it. I would like it to be good but it wont. It will be like starfield. Rrpetative, questionable and boring.

Same. People are already bashing it because of NMS original release but that was Hello Games debut title AND they stuck around, fixed the issues AND learned tons doing so. And for the record, No Man’s Sky puts plenty of modern games to shame either the amount of freedom & content. My only complaint is that it’s mostly empty-hoping Light No Fire fixes this with larger pre-established settlements.

I understand where you’re coming from but much like people, companies evolve & change. No Man’s Sky was Hello Games debut title. They knew little about what they were doing. They stuck around, fixed issues, continued constant support & I’m sure they learned from their mistakes. Will it drop perfectly polished? Likely not but I feel it will launch MUCH better off than NMS. The main problem with modern games is the AAA titles rushing projects to protect investor interests. Indie studios like Hello Games are passionate, passion creates wonderful art and not restricted by money like corporate gaming.

If stalker 2 is anything like the original games with the mod support and you have never played stalker before be sure that if you like it then you will still playing some mod of a mod of mod of a mod …. standalone full game that will be like a second home … if you have a pc and have never played them skip the vanilla games and just get anomaly mod then the gamma mod pack … bets game ever and you probably won’t finish it because it is fucking savagely hard mid to late game even with the debug item spawn menu it provides it’s still stupidly hard and that’s why we love it and that is before everything else with that game series the atmosphere and immersion and awesome

I'm sick of "open world" games that are actually just "big world" games. Light No Fire is what I've been looking for my entire life.

Dragon Age Dreadwolf -- Look at the map and then look up Weishaupt. Mostly AAA corporate slop on this list. Not interested anymore. Lots of great AA and indie games.

i really really doubt ARK 2 will ever come out, seriously not this year, next, or after that for sure. They are still doing stuff with Ascended... so unless they arent completly reinventing what ARK is, which they are planning to with how they describe ARK 2 they willnhave to completely focus on ARK 2 and nothing else. The road map for Ascended goes til the end of 2025 soooo....

It such a good time to be a gamer? really? REALLY?....I am happy I gamed trough the ninties, THAT was such a good time for gamers. Nowadays? we are all milking cows...most Gamecompanies are only bout our money, no matter what....and NOT, like in the 90ties....lets make a game that is FUN.....fuck the fun, money is the thing, so lets go service-games the gold-rush of our times....so...it is really a very, very BAD time for us gamers, period!!!

Sounds like you're focusing on the bad modern games. 90s had a lot of horrible games too, you just don't bother remembering them 30 years later. Same thing will happen today. We will forget the bad games ever existed

I know what op means. Todays games have a few hits here and there but 99% of it is driven by greed and shit games are made. In the 80s and 90s games were made by gamers for gamers. I was there and I played them then. Far less complex but fun was the goal and it showed. Comparing games from then to now is apples vs oranges because of technology but when you even the fun scale out, games back then brought more joy. Period. Ghost were you around back then? Did you play all those games? The good and bad? Or are you speaking from what you THINK it was like? I'd like to know what experience you are drawing from. My guess is next to none.

@@hg7238 yessir I was gaming in the 80s and 90s. The greed is worse now for sure, but its always been there. so many games released that were made in a month or two. like the et game that they literally just ended up burying in the desert cus it was so bad lol. we just had no way to communicate that to eachother in the 80s and 90s. you bought the game based on a picture on a box and 90% of the time it was awful if it wasn't one of the few console defining releases. How many games from the 80s do you truly look back on fondly. can you even get to 5 fingers? More people are making more garbage games now because suits have seen how munch money a good game can make, but there's just as many great games that aren't over monetized being made. I think we feel it because we see some of our favorite IP's falling into that over monetized category. But there's always a new studio making games by gamers for gamers just like the old days. So no, I'm not a doomer boomer when it comes to video games

What a trash take. There are so many incredible titles that have come out in the last several years, both AAA and indie. Just ignore the garbage and you'll find a bunch of studios putting out absolute gems. It has literally never been a better time to be a gamer.

I find it ironic how is real life, if an intelligent biological life form crashed on out planet. We would do the same thing's as those in game's do, when human's land or crash of an planet that has to any degree a lessor or more intelligent biological life form. I loved the Planet of the Ape various movie's or series. Where as APE are the in charge of the planet, as we are on our's. Doing to human's, exactly what we do to ape's. And regardless of the uncermountable odd's. We human's alway's manage to somehow over come them. StarTrek has their infamous none envolvement clause. But there's never been one episoide where as we human's haven't put ourselves above any and all of the various civilization's we've come across. We are alway's correct, and they are even though they've been doing it there way for millenium's longer. Always doint it wrong. Human are regardless of belief and it's not debateable; Animal. And using our supposedly more intelligence, do to any and all other animal's what we do, when we do, how we do, etc. etc. etc. But the thought of say a planet somewhere where as APE are the more intelligent. Doing to human's what we do and have done in the past, present and future. Isn't to any degree aceptable. There are civilization's here on Earth that eat monkey's. It's only natual that on a planet where APE's are in charge, some of them would eat human's.

I've noticed that unless someone says, 'nothing woke' or 'no DEI' like Black Myth Wukong, I immediately dismiss the title now. Like that first game. Saw a chick in the lead. It's probably lame and gay. So no anticipation. Lucky Ghost did nothing wrong. It's just the times. Remember everyone, hate those that hate you.

The fact that we’re here looking for a list - some kind of hint at an actual good game should tell you it is not a good time to be a gamer. Companies are forcing out unfinished, glitchy heaps of quick cash and they’re on to the next game. Sometimes less is more. Instead of littering a store with thousands of crap titles, I’d rather see hundreds of solid and finished titles. Donkey boner.
