There’s nuance in Chris Benoits situation. Abusers for the most part are just really shitty people. Chris had major brain damage. That doesn’t excuse what he did, but doesn’t mean he would’ve done it had his brain been healthy. I’m a DV survivor and use humor to cope with my trauma often. It’s much easier to laugh about being punched in the face than it is to cry about it. It also feels a lot better to laugh at what i went through😅

Its a shame Benoit lost his mind due to the CTE and stuff, a psychotic break due to physical and emotional trauma is terrible and I wouldn't wish it on anyone... however, we cannot gloss over the fact he is a murderer man, I find the jokes funny only from a dark humor perspective, as dark humor helps me cope with my own traumatic shit, but sometimes its too much.
