That's exactly why we do this. Thank you for your support. You'll find as we move forward that our videos become more immersive the coming couple of months as we finally have our feet under us as to what we want this channel to be about - and we shifted completely to this style the past year and we finally have the space in our lineup to share what we've been filming :) Thank you. Dave & Amelia.

Love your videos. It would be nice if you showed the fish a bit more and explained what type and talk about their colors. I always like looking at them a bit more safely before releasing. Appreciate the teaching while fishing. Thank you!

Hi and that's great to hear you enjoy them. We share as we can but we do it in a manner that respects the fish themselves the best we can. They aren't props, they're living creatures and we try our best to respect that - better to be wanting more than to risk killing it. Our goal is 3 or 4 seconds and maybe 2 or 3 quick sessions then release at 300fps video and that gives what would be as much as we'd want to subject most flowing water trout to - much less from a boat or on a lake. Hope you understand.

Well thank you for that! Time will tell. We're just not a pop-culture channel, it takes 500K+ views per video to make any discernable $. But we love sharing what and how we do here so we'll keep sharing and hoping the formulas work - we definitely fund this through our Patreon/Digital Membership from our www.jensenflyfishing.com for anyone interested - thank you! :)

Awesome, awesome video! I love this style of film from you guys. The well drilled commentary and explanation of each situation on your approach as well as seeing the elation of satifaction of a plan come off. Even if there is a bit of luck involved from time to time. As we know some times in fly fishing, its needed. That fish Amelia pulled upstream from underneath that huge log and then quickly turn the fish back downstream away from all that junk was the price for admission right there. It made for great viewing, like we were there.. Credit to you and your journey throughout this day on the river, keep up the great filming as always. Its a pleasure to watch 😊

Thank you - glad you enjoyed this one. To be honest (and oddly it took us this long to "arrive") this is our style of video moving forward. The coming videos over winter will have less and less music, just immersion and how we go about things. We had to get past the Patagonia trips footage and what they were about in order to get to the trips we've been filming the past year and this is kind of the start of that. We're done with showy and snappy edits and getting to what we love again :) And you'll see plenty of luck in coming videos - some good, some not! :)

@jensenflyfishing I very much look forward to it. There are certain video clips that have their place with music like you guys have edited over the years, which is great. I've enjoyed them all as often I find watching fly fishing videos that are full of music, the right type of music, are like a form of meditation for myself. I don't prefer to watch one's like that all the time but they have there time and place. As for this style of film you've put together and you mentioned that there will be a lot more of this going forward. I find videos like this very captivating. The audio of nature and the commentary of you guys definitely has my eyes locked onto the screen.

@@HighcountryFlylife I think what you'll start to see is us knowing who and what we are and not trying to be anything else any more. Just share us in our cadence and pace, sharing what we know and a focus on what we love - interesting fish, sense of place, gorgeous locations, birds & wildlife. We certainly will never be pop culture nor widely accepted because of that, but our hope is to connect with people that appreciate what we love. If ever you want to read the background to some of these videos or deep dive a little more, we do extended videos and topic specific courses through our Patreon membership. The course coming in January is exceptional, tbh. "Catch 'em All" is when there are 2, 3 or 4 feeding trout in tight quarters and how I go about taking them all. That and the January videos behind-the-scenes write ups are pretty neat. That's not for everyone but we appreciate that support - yeah, I know, a plug but it all ties in no matter. Just glad you enjoy this stuff and connect with it - all the best! :)

NZ here. Many NZ fish are sea run or at the v least estuarian. It's counter-intuitive to think of wee 2 or 3lb fish as sea run but there certainly are heaps that travel following whitebait, etc on up. Not all sea run are big - just like resident fish they gotta start small too! :)
