A great overarching video of racquet and string properties and finding a complimentary match - or one that uplifts the others weakness. For those that are starting out on the string journey, not every racquet and string combination suggested will work for you so don’t be reluctant to experiment with your own setups as these are personal to your own tastes 👍🏼

Excellent content idea, thank you. I play the PS 98 16x19 (Gen 3) with HyperG Soft at 50lbs and love it. Am about to experiment by stringing one in the low 40s to see just how much incremental power/spin it helps me find. Have tried the Wasabi in this racquet too, enjoyed it but HyperG Soft is where it's at for me.

@@macattack78 16g on both mains and crosses and zero on the crosses. With the 18/20 string pattern with the head speed pro the launch angle can be low. Having a shaped string helps with the launch angle. But a full bed of restring zero was too unpredictable with the launch angle and it also felt too lively. So I put Tour bite on the mains. For me I felt the tour bite mellowed out the restring zero and lowered the launch angle and made it more predictable.

Love it - I’ve got one of my aero 98s with Alu Rough 16L at 55/53, never played with a setup so perfect. The control is phenomenal, spin through the roof, and has all the power you could ever need. Tried RPM Rough Red at same tension, was too launchy and dead feeling. Blast Black @ 52 is in my other frame, that’s fantastic too but the Alu Rough is on another level. Would recommend to anyone who doesn’t have arm issues!

I think you need to add the String Gauge (16/16L/17/18) into the equation as well, as it could be stiffer once you go up the gauge, and vice versa. Add this to the mix, you can go softer with lower gauge if you are happy with that specific string, or higher gauge for more control and tension maintenance. Personally, I could play with Hyper G on any racket, as long as the gauge and tension are adjusted.. 18x20 - Hyper G 18 - Tension 45-47 16x20 - Hyper G 17 - Tension 48-50 This way I could stay with the string I like, and already know the characteristics, and predictable as well.

It is a softer shaped poly that definately gives a nice blend of spin and power that compliments the well rounded playability of the Speed Pro. I tried almost every popular poly string on my ProStaff 97 v10 a few years ago and got so frustrated that there wasn't a single setup that felt right. There's always some glaring flaw. Then someone told me to just do a gut-poly hybrid, I took the hefty price plunge just to see what the fuss is all about and holy shit....! I've never used a different setup on the ProStaff since then.

Ah yes… the classic. Trying guy and never turning back. That’s why I say never try guy lol. Glad it’s working out for you, I had the exact same experience with my Gravity Tour.

Great video as always! I have heard from a local professional stringer that the Lynx Tour doesn't work well with the Gravity (or soft control frames in general), unless you are a pro who can generate tons of power; he says that it's a stiff string that has to be strung at least at 50 lbs to be activated, and as soon as it drops tension it has to be cut otherwise it will kill your elbow. Did you experience any of this? Thanks a lot!

I tend to disagree but it certainly isn't the most powerful string. I don't find it too uncomfortable either.

Has anyone strung a Yonex Ezone 98 with Solinco Confidential or Hyper G or Toroline (at a thinner guage) at 45lb?

I enjoy the Lynx Tour more than Alu Power funnily enough. Alu Power has too much power in my Spin Effect 18x16.

I’m going to be getting a Blade 98 16x19 and I was thinking about which string I should use in it. I know ALU and Hyper-G would work well in the Blade but I’ve also heard that other strings such as Lynx Tour, Hawk Touch and Tour Bite perform well in the Blade. Do you think those would be good choices as well? My demo had ALU Power in it but I don’t particularly want to use ALU.

@@DG-zy9dr full bed might be fine at lower tensions in the latest model but I prefer 60lbs and it’s too stiff there. Hawk touch softens it up very nicely for me.

Nice vid! Do you think the Head Lynx Tour would be a good combo with the Head Extreme Tour too? Also, do you use the 1.25 gauge of HLT? I heard is heavier and thicker than a regular 1.25 string.

Absolutely! One of the best strings for that racket. It is quite a heavy string and yes, I use 1.25.

Thanks for the video..! I have a head boom MP 2022. Currently I used the genesis string hexonic 2.0 1.25 mm, tension 52 lb. I think that I'm a equilibrate player, I want a string that help me to convert a boom MP in a little more equilibrate racquet with a good durability. Thanks for your help
