These Are Reddit's Top Ten Manga

I read a LOT of manga and I am always looking fore new stuff to series to start, so I decided to see what the good people over on reddit were reading. Every week, a redditor named dataweaboo posts a list of r/manga's top 20 most popular manga. I decided to read the top ten from the list and this is how it went. Originally this wasn't supposed to be a recommendation video but it ended up being one in the end for the most part. I hope you enjoy the video!

My favorite part about Dandadan is that at the end of every crazy battle arc they have a scene with the whole cast sitting around the table eating dinner, with the addition of whatever character just joined up in the last arc. So after every arc, the scene just gets more hectic and energetic. It almost gives me One Piece vibes, when the whole crew is just partying after a big fight.

I disagree tbh. Leaving aside the Shinjuku showdown, which needs to be fast paced due to the nature of the fight, there are breather moments between each major arc. After shibuya, there was the perfect preparation arc. And during the culling game, there was nothing insane like shibuya where it was all fights. There were some breather moments. Also, I think Gege for all his killings, does develop characters well, even if it is not his strength. He keeps a small cast for a reason, but he fleshes them out well.@@TizTaz007

My personal recommendation here is Witch Hat Atelier. It’s an incredible Seinen manga about a world in which witches and normal people are separated. Witches jobs are to help humans, and only Witches can use magic, no one else. That is until Coco, our main character, learns the true secrets of magic, and she herself becomes a witch. After accidentally using a forbidden spell and turning her mother to stone, Qifrey, a Witch who was staying with them while he was traveling, takes her under his wing in order to figure out how to dispel the magic cast on her mother. It’s an absolutely incredible series filled with intense moments, beautiful art, incredible world building and characters, and one of my favorite magic systems in all of manga. It especially goes into the moral dilemmas of magic and why certain magics should and should not be used.

Sakamoto Days might be the best action imo, neck to neck with One Punch Man. I absolutely adore how creative the author is with the fights, as he makes the characters in every fight utilize their surroundings to their advantage. There are almost no special abilities and all the fights are physical, so the fun lies within the battle tactics of each character and that makes for an extremely fun read. Sakamoto Days is a manga that I highly recommend. Frieren has one of the most memorable first chapter I have ever read in any manga, the only better first chapter imo is Attack on Titan's.

That sounds like a cop-out, I know, but the main character is incredibly charming and this completely foreign tradition for us westerners is flawlessly integrated into the story in a way that let's the reader experience a bit of the magic of it themselves. I can't recommend this highly enough.

I would highly recommend you to read Onanie Master Kurosawa. What seems like a trashy manga with unlikable characters turn into such an amazing heartfelt coming of age story. It has some of the best character depth and development out there, which is even crazier given that it is only about 30 chapters long. Easily one of my favourites of all time.

If you see this comment, i want to say that The Dangers In My Heart is a great manga, and as you said the beginning didnt do it justice. The animes 2nd season will cover what i consider the best arc in the manga, because instead of focusing on the relationship, it focuses in on the best written character, Ichikawa and his mind, i hope you either reader the later parts of the manga or watch season 2 when it releases in april next year.

wow, this is a great video! loved seeing manga i've read being talked about from someone just barely getting into them. i know as cheesy as it sounds, since its been said so many times, but im genuinely surprised you aren't a more popular youtuber. seriously, only a thousand subscribers? also, making a "ten manga you should read video" or something along the lines seems to be the youtube's algorithm meta if you want to become popular. i mean seriously, ive seen people with hundreds of subs go to tens of thousands from a single video talking about manga they've read. just a funny observation. wouldn't be surprised if this video re-blows up and gains another ten thousand views in a day or two.

I haven’t read much manga yet, but my favorite is 100% land of the lustrous. fresh concept, unpredictable progression, unique art, and you really start to empathize with phosphophyllite, the main character, even after she completely loses herself. it all goes so wrong yet you can’t exactly blame anyone. really makes you wonder how different these gem people (and the other characters as well) are from us (not so much at all). as the story progresses, you realize how everything was laid out perfectly. possibly my ultimate favorite piece of media. i can’t explain why very well without spoilers, but please consider watching the anime (one of the best cgi anime with gorgeous colors and camera movements) and picking up the manga after. it deserves more recognition

I know you generally view manga but I have a really underrated manwha that you really, really should read. It's an epic fantasy novel that is genuinely amazing, on the levels of western epics of great achievements, like the stormlight archive. It's simply the best animanga I've read so far. Kubera - One Last God. A series with 10 protagonists and 650+ chapters. The story involves gods, demons and humans and everything in between. An amazing world building that's thoroughly explored, it's such a narrative experience. It has the best plot structuring and foreshadowing I've seen in animanga so far as well. The reason why it's so underrated is because the first season's art (which came out in 2010) is subpar, but I assure if you read past the first initial chapters and really get into the story you will find a hidden gem. And Kubera is one of the rarer series that only, only gets better with each arc, each season. I hope one day you read it and make a video about it. I hope you get into it and stick with it.
