I'm just about old enough to remember ALX400s being in service with Stagecoach and First here in South Yorkshire along side B10BLEs, B7Ls, B7TLs, Darts and the like, hell I may have even been on a Volvo Olympian when TM Travel were still running them. I feel old and I'm only turning 18 in October lol.

I grew up with the b10ms and Olympians so some of these buses weren't even made yet when I was into buses

bro so awesome if only we have that in the philippines because we have lots of buses which are too much for me to remember

Yeah it's nice to have some memories of the past

Kinda feel old when the buses of the early 2000s are now preserved. 😂 However there's a good reason behind this, since London's mayor aims for a full zero-emission bus fleet by 2037 (essentially from 1st Jan 2020, all new public buses procured in London are hydrogen/electric). That also means some of the older buses of London had to be mothballed in this case, leading them to eventually be preserved by these private collectors.

It did a replacement to Cardiff immediately after this video was taken actually, pretty cool. I listed it as preserved as it was stated so on several Flickr posts, and come preserved buses like DLA273 regularly do rail replacement works. I'm not 100% sure on this citaro tho. But we can agree it sounds amazing 👍🏻

These are preserved, you can see the Bromley bus preservation group banners on the sides. It just looks like they are still in service because of how new they look.

makes me feel ancient, an enviro 400 is considered old enough to preserve?

Well the first ones rolled off the production line in 2005-2006 so they are getting pretty old now (in comparison to the average age of London Buses these days) but I too am surprised to see an Enviro400 being preserved...
