Good review! But the the elastic placement when you did them up drove me crazy. It looked like it was about to burst. If the tongue doesn’t fold over further down the boot, just place the elastic in a normal spot so it doesn’t over stretch like that. Beckham’s famous elastic placement was because his tongue folded over almost the entire length of the boot.

I think an extra set of boots in general is always a good thing to have, and if you're only wearing them a few times per season, they'll likely last you for a long time. Ultimately it's your call though.

I would be cutting it pretty close. They'd definitely fit, you'd likely have very little slack left at the end to tie the boots.

Hey Josh, I recently purchased a pair of these, and they are definitely a bit larger then modern cleats. Do you think the leather will stretch a significant amount? When double socking, they fit very well, I am just worried about the long term viability of the shoes.

The majority of the stretching will happen through the toe box and forefoot area. In general they will stretch, but not a lot.

The Mercurials have a tighter overall fit. Responsiveness is pretty similar between the two.

Kudos to adidas at least for once making something that is close to the original in terms of the upper... Tho I kinda hope to see adidas bringing back the bladed stud patterns and soleplates from the original predators

I don't think so, if a good old boot comes back, people will rush to buy it, which will effect the sells of the other current boot lines, nemeziz, predator etc. that's why all of them are limited.

I just got a pair of these beauties in a bazaar in Albania for the incredible price of €15😂

I never wore them like that when I had them as a kid. In general, I've never worn boots without lacing them all the way to the top. It just feels wrong to me.
