St. Therese, please pray for Fr. James Martin. Ask your saintly parents, who are the Patron saints of Matrimony, to intercede for him that he may come to understand that marriage is between one man and one woman open to life. The Sacrament of Matrimony shows Christ’s love for his Church. Marriage calls the couple to be a visible sign of God’s love in the world. The Martins’ witness of spousal love and holy parenthood make them inspiring role models for Catholic parents today.

I am not Catholic, and I knew nothing about her. She came to me with a red rose during a meditation at one of the worst times of my life, and told me simply to keep doing what I was doing. Learning how to love - not only my beloved but also my wrong-doers - has been my journey since that evening 22 years ago. Of course, she promised to help the world, and it’s inconceivable she would discriminate, but I am still amazed she came to me, unchurched and never a Catholic to encourage me in my ‘little way.’ And wow - the things I’ve learned about life and G_d since then. She really is a saint. And so beneficent.

Therese came to me, found me. I’m not even catholic! I read Story of a Soul till it literally fell apart - plus her letters, books by her sisters & biographies. I talk to her like a best friend. I’ve given her autobiography to so many. Few read it. They miss the love, the humor, the miracles. They’re real; she’s real.

I'm just back from the funeral of a man who did not want to go into a nursing home and sought assisted suicide instead. On the other hand, my dad was in a nursing home for the last nine months of his life. Although I understand the choice to avoid going into a nursing home, I also think that there can be something quietly heroic about going there. It is an acceptance of one's weakness and physical decline and of the need to accept help for so much. Therese certainly accepted suffering and even sought it and probably got more of it than she bargained for. She was a truly inspiring person and how wise of your granddad to remind himself of her little way in the manner he chose.

Therese understood that love is not an emotion, just as forgiveness is not an emotion. Loving often means "in spite of" who we are. Her volunteering to work with the most impossible nun in the monastery, the one that everyone avoided because she was emotionally unstable, was truly heroic virtue. I'm not Catholic but I found Therese's story quite by God-accident in about 1991 and have cherished it ever since.

St Therese never said she hated the rosary. That is a false statement! What she did say was, “When alone (I am ashamed to admit it) the recitation of the rosary is more difficult for me than the wearing of an instrument of penance.” This shows how much she loved the rosary and how she wanted to pray it well! She also said, “Now I am less desolate; I think that the Queen of heaven, since she is my mother, must see my good will and she is satisfied with it.” This was in regard to her praying the rosary poorly. That's not hate it's a sincere desire to pray the rosary well. Please Father, let's be truthful. I gave you her words not my idea of what she might have said.

St Therese never said she hated the rosary. She said it was difficult for her. She did pray it and said she would pray many Our Fathers and Hail Mary and meditated but it wasn't the traditional rosary. A rosary of sorts though. She also said learned books gave her a headache. She thought the rosary was torture because she wanted to pray it well and that was the torture of it since it tortured her not to pray it well.

one way the saint process begins is when people start reporting a miracle happened to them because of the saint's intercession for them, also, leading an exemplary life. she is one of the few people who never committed a mortal sin. then the church starts to investigate by interviewing people - sometimes thousands.

She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Psalm 45 13All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold. 14In embroidered garments she is led to the king; her virgin companions follow her- those brought to be with her. 15Led in with joy and gladness, they enter the palace of the king. Psalm 45 13All glorious is the princess within her chamber; her gown is interwoven with gold. 14In embroidered garments she is led to the king; her virgin companions follow her- those brought to be with her. 15Led in with joy and gladness, they enter the palace of the king.

they are not true clergy. they have infiltrated our seminaries and churches. many of them are now cardinals - that way we are more apt to get a pope who is....not so faithful in many of his teachings.

Ok.....I’ve been hittin’ all of Jimmy vids, sites, etc... First of all St Therese....total Saint. Her parents .....very pious. Pope Leo XIII, absolute defender and champion and saint of the Church........Fr. Jimbo?......ya, not so much. Think I’ll be reading and listening afore to Popes Pius IX. X, XI, XII, Pope Leo XIII, and pretty much all of the Church prior to Vat II.

You know, the fact that he Falsely claimed that Saint Therese hated the Rosary when she merely had a hard time staying awake during it because of the intense life at Carmel, should have really been a warning to everyone of how badly this man was going to turn out. P.s She called the Rosary “ the chain that links heaven and earth”. I know right? Sounds like she loathed the thing 😒

that part i noticed, also. he surely has an agenda. st. therese probably never uttered the word "hate". makes me think that he maybe hates the rosary and has the psychological problem, called "Transference".

I cannot imagine someone being a canonized saint of the Catholic Church that did not have a strong devotion to the BVM and did not care for the rosary.. imagine that! but apparently St Theresa of the Child Jesus is one of them. Comparing her to St. Bernadette is very difficult... almost impossible. For this reason alone I cannot get close to her.

That's correct, she was cured when Our Lady (via a statue in her room) smiled at her during a long sickness and she was a Carmelite Nun, completely consecrated to Our Lady & she did prevail in the rosary how-be-it she complained at times. Don't we all.

Not exactly; she admitted it was difficult for her to pray the rosary BUT added that because she knew how much that prayer pleases the Virgin Mary, she did her best. She wrote beautiful pages about the Virgin Mary and loved her deeply.

Russell Montminy The reason I gravitated toward Therese was she was great Saint without having done anything important. I'm not crazy either about praying the Rosary, I do anyway but I love the BVM and want to please Her though I am not a people pleaser, but I still love Her, but Therese 's Little Way was easy to do, not like the Great Theologians.

This is Fr. James Martin, the same man who recently said on Twitter: "Catholics need not be wary of June's #PrideMonth It’s a way for LGBT people to be proud that they are beloved children of God, they have families who love them as they are, and they have a right to be treated with "respect, compassion and sensitivity" after years of persecution." - June 2 2018 (Twitter @JamesMartinSJ) He also said: "Not every #PrideMonth event will be to everyone's taste, but the underlying point-" - June 2 2018 So apparently, half-naked, three-quarters naked and all but naked men dancing on floats made in the shape of genitalia, waving and wearing accoutrements also depicting genitalia, while grinding on one another and more...is somehow a subjective expression of "LGBT people [being] proud that they are beloved children of God," and that "Catholics need not be wary of June's #PrideMonth". As a Catholic man, in my opinion, I find this statement willfully scandalizing and see no mark of the Church in this "priest's" remarks. June is merely one month amongst many. It seems every month is Gay Pride Month. No matter. The emphasis for the Faithful should be to pay attention to the infiltration locally and within dioceses writ large within Christendom and to educate one another with the mountain of knowledge and information the Church has accrued in 2000 years. That means understanding the socio-cultural implications as well as the philosophical and theological entailments. There are capable priests who do not endorse this man's opinion or apprehension concerning the objective amoral expression of pride vis a vis the Church Christ founded. Remember, all we have to do is what the Lord instructs us to do one day at a time.
