After Roger left his former pirate crew he and Rayleigh never met again. Roger saying " I won't die partner" brought Rayleigh to tears. In the manga you can even see Rayleigh turn away when the crew is bidding Roger farewell as he couldn't bear to see him leave never to return.

Ray always felt to me like what if you took Zoro and Sanji and combined them into one character

As a 40 years old guy, Rayleigh is the one I relate to the most. The way he drinks and sheds tears is hitting home like no other character.

Plus WB went to save ace n he was the old generation. Roger was Rayleighs best friend, no way he WOULDNT want to help his best friend’s son

Rayleigh is definitely my favorite old character. Power wise I always defend him in the community 😅.. i Always argued how he wss top 5 in his era by the time Roger died. The short anime scene where Roger said goodbye and his oldest friend Rayleigh started crying definitely gets me into my feelings 😢. I feel there's two potential deaths that can beat Whitebeard by epicness. Either Garp or Rayleigh. Sidenote: I always laugh when I think about how the Marines know where Rayleigh lives but they probably think *Yea I'm good on that* 😅. Akainu and the Marines probably hoping he just dies by alcohol poisoning or something 😂
