There Was An Ed, Edd n Eddy Video Game?

Ойындар

Ed, Edd n Eddy was such a staple show from my childhood, so of course I'd be pretty excited with the thought of a of an Ed, Edd n Eddy video game titled Ed, Edd n Eddy The Mis-Edventures. Today, let's take a look at the game and see if it holds up to the nostalgia I remember it for or if it should have continued to be a memory only.

fun fact: my mom thought Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy was the reason i kept acting up and getting suspended from school, so she blocked the show from being watched. Not really sure how she came to that conclusion, but the real reason was the traditional "I get bullied and nearly beat up regularly, but whenever i decide to defend myself, THAT'S when the teacher start noticing and think I WAS the one who started it all" thing.

As far as CartoonNetwork shows are concerned, I dont think any IP was handled as well as Ed, Edd and Eddy. It got several solid to great seasons, a fantastic movie, and a tie in game that did justice to the source material. I dont think any other show has been as lucky.

I remember the commercials for this game back when I was a kid and begging my dad for it because of how much I loved the show. I played it several times back then but only managed to get all the jawbreakers once during that period. When I went back to it two years ago for nostalgia’s sake, I was shocked at how short the game was. To give people an idea, I was able to fully complete the game as an adult in less time than it took to get through KH 2’s prologue sequence, cutscenes included. Either way, it was a great time to be a kid. 😊

Great game overall, had a blast with it as I just kept replaying the same missions over and over since I was a simplier soul back in my youth that enjoy the repetition + gaining every single jawbreaker in the game. Heck, I say that the short length is more to it's benefit - humor tends to die the longer it's dragged out in media, and I much rather have a fun, snackier experience than a plodding one that eats all my time.

Seeing all the visuals again really transported me back to being a kid playing this. As odd as this sounds, being a huge sky cooper fan, the individual strengths and tools of each character really reminds me of swapping between Sly, Murray, and Bentley, with Murray being able to break and carry heavy objects in contrast to Ed, Bentley having all the ranged attacks in contrast to double d, and although sly and Eddy have different tools it still really reminds me of the old sky cooper games! Something I don’t think I even noticed while playing back in the day. Thanks for covering this! It was wonderful to see it in its glory and to reminisce

Loved this growing up! Omg it never felt short for me but I'm pretty bad at games so even short games feel long to me 😅

It's crazy because I was just thinking ab this game. I played it so much as a kid but i somehow don't remember anything ab it. I do remember it coming with an exclusive episode of the show that I watched all the time

If you want a licensed game with a surprising feel of quality within the game itself in terms of gameplay, visuals, feel capturing, etc, I recommend Bakugan: Battle Brawlers. Specifically the PS2 version without the Wii or PS3 motion controls. It's surprisingly a great time.

My mom hated all non-Disney cartoons while I was growing up (ironically, Disney Channel had some of the _trashiest_ shows at the time... as well as the best. win some, lose some), so I never got to play it. But I really wish I could have. Also, for another "really faithful to the source material" game from that era, there's _Wallace and Gromit in Project Zoo._ It straight up feels like a playable W&G movie, you've got the original voice cast (...er, single one, Wallace is the only human character in it so the only one with spoken lines), the art style is as faithful as was possible by GameCube standards (Wallace's mouth movements "snap" rather than smoothly change, just like claymation does), and it's a fairly fun adventure.

My mother bought me this game along with The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy back when they were new. I still have my OG copies, but I go back to play Billy and Mandy often. I loved them both, I loved the cartoons and the games.
