Definitely, there are operators in this class and it has archetypes, certainly making it a class

Also some additional info for Dualstrike guards: They also have a way to generate SP through their talents that makes their SP issue pretty minor. Bibeak ASPD+ talent or Ch'en and Cutter's SP regeneration talents as an example. They're pretty cool :))

Also after getting a bit lucky i found that on IS2 there is a relic that makes all (insert guard branch that i forgor x2) and Dualstrike guards ignore not 25, not 50, but 70% ENEMY DEFENSE From all the 3 archtypes this relic boost, clearly the dualstrike one enjoys it the most as their biggest weakness is of course, defense and they deal 2 hits Tachanka shredded everything on my run since i had Warfarin with him 90% of the time

Dreadnaughts have best elite 1v1 results when fighting elites and bosses that deal nonphysical damage to better make use of their massive HP pools. Of course for bosses this assumes that the boss isn't yet another stupid, unblockable jerk that Hypergriff seems to be on a massive streak with.

@@eveakane6563 Lucien 'Blood Diamond', Mouthpiece, Big Sad Lock, Degenbrecher, Andoain, Mandragora, Sui - Xiang, R6S 'Perfect Organism', Sal Viento. That's 7 events worth of 'unblockable' bosses. Don't get me started on sh-ts like Blindey, Smarty, Dublinn Floaters, Everything in Under Tides with Nervous Impairment, and Duck Lord.

I mean technically some of those bosses don't move in the conventional sense or are stationary, have special requirements before blocking or have teleport.

The fact that the introduction of the Guard class analysis is it’s own video says it all really. We really are playing GuardKnights. Looking forward to seeing how many videos Yii has to make to analyse all the guards in the game.

If this list seems long, just let me remind you that vanguards were originally going to be just another part of the guard archetype, which would make the list significantly longer.

I love the fact that this class analysis is just listing the guard branches lol I hope you're not missing branches because I don't even know all of them

I have no doubts that sooner or later we'll get yet another Guard type to ensure we keep the Guardknights meme and/or to frustrate Yii and other people who have to describe it to us viewers. The closest classes that could gain that many branches are Specialists, followed by Snipers and Casters. ...Inb4 we get crazy classes like 'anti-air only' or 'attack only when skill activates' Snipers, melee type casters (not like Amiya, who becomes an actual Guard to do that) or support Specialists who ignore deployment limits like the robots or Nearl Alter with either of said limits for it.

There is already a melee only caster operator. That one from the greay chief returns event. Extremely bad. Also, tactican vanguards are technically summoners who ignore deployment limit.

Also, Highmore (the new Reaper-class) is kind of the backup for La Pluma. Yes, she is good on IS3, but for General, she gonna have to share the floor with La Pluma.

I am honestly very happy with how Highmore's kit looks. She has her uses without really stepping on anyone's toes - ie. Highmore is much more defense oriented with physical dodge, elemental healing and %HP heals while La Pluma is all about fast attacks and shredding everything. Of course that is all only how it sounds on paper since I haven't had a chance to try her out yet... TL;DR: I really like that both Pluma and Highmore seem to have their own niches

to be fair, defenders as a whole are still generally tanky compared to centurions. so thats still their main thing that being said, healing defenders are called 'guard'iands lmao

Absolutely not. Unlike defenders, centurions get their asses handed to them if they block more than 2 elite enemies. Sometimes, even 2 elite enemies are enough to get them to the brink of retreat.

@@lilremix I mean, the low rarities may not be that tanky, but many centurions have tankiness comparable to the least defensive defender variants, like guardians or artillery. Gavial and Blaze tank fairly well, thanks to their skills too

Btw, Hyper added another sub class: the crusher guard. Very similar to Centurion, but no defense at all!

Dear RNGesus, I'm very thankful that my first 3 6* was SA, Surtr, Blaze and another SA (in that exact order, with not that many rolls on Join OP 5). It's one of the best starts in gacha I had.

I hope we get more Gaurd class

It’s real funny watching this again when HG decided to bless Guards with another archetype.

Yii is one of the Arknights content creator ever exist.

A note for dreadnaught guards, at least for one of the 4 star... Matoimaru can survive aak buff if she has the module and is buffed before activating her skill 2. All without going into Matoimaru phase 2.

Nope, Repear is way too reliant to constant waves of enemies to heal themselves making them literally vulnerable to ranged attacks from afar. Meanwhile the Musha guards has a talent or sets of skills that heals themselves without the need of others.

@@mayatree0 Only Hellagur can consistently heal himself when dealing good damage thought. Utage sucks in actually killing stuff when with S1 while Akafuyu have no healing at all.

@@mayatree0 Nah, the real difference is basically the same as Hellagur vs Mudrock debate: Mushas excel at duels with tankier enemies whereas reapers literally just reap trash mobs.

@@mayatree0 problem is that reapers 6 star is still not present Musha also has the same problem but then you realize operators like hellagur ignores it quite well Mostl likelly the 6 star reaper will fix its healing problems as it will most likelly be an Agir themed operator (ulpian)

Flamebringer can survive Aak if he is maxed with LVL1 module or killed 7 enemies.

Game really loves to give me guards, from my 6 six-stars 3 of them are guards. Thorns, SA(2 pot) and Ch'en. Not that I'm complaining, but I really need other classes. My other 6* are Lee(pot 2 no Ling sadge), Hoshiguma and GG.

Most guard characters in lore are either weak or busted compared to their lore counterpart Surtr cant use her arts correctly on lore while being broken in normal gameplay While chen a extremely strong sword user in lore loses to her weird alter and almost every other guard

The closest is probably Ranged Guard/Lord since there's 8 operators in that archetype.
